Dillon was our installer and we were very impressed with how conscientious to detail he was....he wanted everything to be right for us as the customer. If we were ever to have carpet installed again, we would request Dillon...he was EXCELLENT !!!

+ 0 moreIt had been too many years since we had new carpeting. Three growing kids, a German Shepherd and a couple cats...........the carpet was in rough shape. Cassandra came out to our house and met with us, and showed us a variety of samples. She was very helpful in recommending which carpeting for our needs, and picking the best color. We were replacing family room, 3 bedrooms, a stairway and a hallway. Because of the logistics of moving furniture, we split our installation in two. Also had ordered new bedroom furniture, so didn't want to lay new carpet before the new furniture arrived. There was NO issue splitting our installation up, and even having 2 months time in between the first and second installation. We did the first part of our installation in April. Two Bedrooms and Family Room. The installers arrived when they said they would, and were efficient and cleaned everything up nicely. Two months later our furniture was finally coming, I called and scheduled the last of the carpet installation on pretty short notice and was accommodated to the date I needed. Again the installer arrived when he said he would, looked at the job and said this is going to take 4 hours, and he was pretty much right on the money. Four hours later he finished vacuuming and walked out the door. He also took time to fix a spot on the family room carpeting that was coming up. This is the 2nd time we've purchased carpeting from Costco and couldn't be happier. The carpeting looks awesome. Their prices are fair. The sales process is so easy.........nothing better than having a truck full of samples to choose from and look at right in your own home! And to top it off, they rebate you back 10% of the purchase price in a Costco card........and if you order at the right time, we got to take advantage of an additional $150 gift card promotion!

+ 0 moreThe installers, Nick and Bobby, arrived at the time previously arranged and worked throughout the day without any lengthy breaks. They removed the old carpet without making a mess and cleaned the floors prior to installation of the new carpet. They were quiet workers and completed the job in the time expected. Their installation was excellent---no seams evident at all. My contacts with Magic Carpet went very well. Jaclyn Frost was the salesperson that initially came out to our home and had a variety of carpets to show me. She was extremely patient as it took me many months to make a decision. There was no push to hurry and no pressure at all to make a purchase. Jaclyn had a very professional demeanor and met all of my requests in a timely manner. Even after the installation I realized I needed a carpet sample and Jaclyn was quick to arrange that for me. I am completely satisfied with the product and the people at Magic Carpet.

+ 0 more. This company went above and beyond to make me happy. I have to admit I was a bit overwhelmed by the idea of pulling out old carpet and putting in new. Jaclyn was so helpful. She assured me that when they were done, it would be like no one had even been there. She was right. There was not so much as a crumb on my beautiful carpet when they left. The gentlemen who installed my carpet were a joy. Each and everyone of them stopped to pet and play with my dog. Now that REALLY impressed me. + 0 moreI contacted a flooring representative via CostCo's website. Someone contacted me immediately and set up an appointment to do a consult. The installer showed up first and we walked through our project. Our MBR is quite large as is our closet. We had a decided dip in the middle of the room from a past addition and the floor was creaky in spots. We talked about the process and what would be done to correct the flaws. Our designer then walked us through carpeting choices (pile, color, padding) and we made our picks. We had hoped for a quick turnaround and they were able to accommodate us (our consult was Saturday and they installed on the date we chose-one week from that Tuesday). We were under the impression the installers would come in the morning and do prep work then have lunch and finish in the afternoon...but they arrived around 8 and were done by lunch. They were able to fix the dip and tighten up some floorboards. The carpet is awesome; the first night we wanted to sleep on it (actually we still do). They cleaned up and vacuumed (using their own vacuum) and were very professional. We will definitely use them again. Another plus is there is a CostCo guarantee and we get a cash card back. I highly recommend Shaw for your flooring needs.

He also gave me the name of the place to have the carpet bound so that I could use it as a runner.?We are remodeling our kitchen. I will definitely go back there to have them help me pick out the flooring for our kitchen and mud room. I would definitely go back there. The service, attention to the customer, the quality and the professionalism was absolutely wonderful. They are very knowledgeable about the carpeting and flooring they sell. It's a great place to find all of ?your flooring needs.

+ 0 moreWe actually got this deal through Costco; we believe we got a good value. The Magic Carpet representative, Jacklyn, was helpful and very pleasant. She was on time for all appointments. Because we were doing some of the work ourselves and had a flexible schedule with our contractor, we needed to work with someone who could then be flexible with us. By this I mean, we didn't know for sure when we would be ready to have the carpet installed. We had our first meeting with Jacklyn the same day the space was measured. Jacklyn instructed us to call her 2-3 weeks ahead of our proposed installation date so that the carpet could be ordered and ready for us. I think once we called to say we were ready we needed to wait about 10 days for installation which was not a problem for us. Everything worked out nicely. Jacklyn helped us work through the carpet choices and offered her thoughts on wall color as well. I think the carpet looks wonderful.
Description of Work: Met with us to show us carpet samples, answered all of our questions and helped us to choose the carpet and padding, measured the room, ordered the carpet and padding, and coordinated the installation. Installed new pad and carpet in our newly remodeled bedroom.

+ 2 moreShaw hardwood floor immediately showed signs of defect. Had to chase my sales rep down for over a year to get him to address the issues. He sent his dad, the owner, out to handle the problem for him. HIs dad was a pompous a** and showed no sign that he understood that a floor that cost over $10,000 dollars shouldn't have issues a week after it is installed or that the customer shouldn't have to chase his son for over a year to get someone to fix it. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!

+ -1 moreWe were initially happy with their service. However, we discovered an issue with their work over this past summer. Basically, they cracked our refrigerator’s drip pan when moving it for the installation. It took over eighteen months for the problem to present itself, and by that time the flooring underneath had warped. We contacted their office about the crack after a plumber determined it wasn’t a manufacture’s defect, and could have only occurred when the refrigerator was moved. Unfortunately, the office said they aren’t responsible for the crack because of the amount of time that has passed. They’ve refused to even look at the problem in person.
Description of Work: They installed new bamboo flooring in our kitchen and hallways in January, 2010.

+ -1 moreI actually had three jobs completed. I did a small job first just to test them out. It went well so I had them to a much larger area in my town home and that too went well. So I was confident when I had them put Karndean vinyl in my bathroom. I ordered two boxes of the tiles at approx $165 per box. After the job was done and the installer left I was admiring the floor but noticed there were no left over tiles which seemed strange as I had ordered much extra. I counted the tiles and only one box should have been used. I looked all over but could not find the box so I called Tony and asked him to follow up with the installer. After forgetting to call the installer and then the installer not retiming his calls I realized that the box of tiles had been taken by the installer for his own use and I was out appprox $165 bucks. Tony agreed to order me a new box to replace the one taken by the installer. He said that it would take a month or so and he would call me when it came in. Over three months later I am still waiting. If you do decide to use these guys, write down all dates of contacts and count the boxes you order and ask to see all unused/left over materials.

Description of Work: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! We had a water pipe break in our basement & we needed new carpet in 2 of our bedrooms and new "tile" (Dura Ceramic) in our bathroom & hallway. We chose Magic carpets because they said they could get the job done within the same week. That was the deciding factor for us as everyone was displaced with the water & ruined flooring. We tore up all of the carpet, removed it & prepped the floors as they had asked. They did not have the carpet instock that we had purchased (even though they had told us they did have it instock or that they could get it in the short time frame). They "upgraded us to a thicker carpet, which seemed to be great initially, however, once the carpet was laid, We could not close any of our closet doors or bedroom doors. Magic carpet did not shave off the bottoms of the doors, so we had to do this ourselves. We did not have any of the tools or equipment to do this, so it made for a very unhappy experience. So the "upgrade" ended up costing us time & money in the long run. WE ARE STILL WAITING ON THEM TO COMPLETE OUR FLOOR CORRECTLY!! We spoke with a salesman at Magic Carpets, who was more interested in telling us about his upcoming fishing trip in Canada, then he was about getting our order written up correctly. We chose Dura Ceramic tile for our bathroom & hallway areas. We are not real experienced with laying tile as we've only had our entry way done in the past. Dura Ceramic has the option of being grouted or not grouted. We wanted the grouted look as it looks richer to us. Apparently the salesman did not write this down, even though we had talked to him about it. Remember, he was more interested in his upcoming fishing trip. The installers arrived on a Thursday morning. No one ever told us what day or time the installers would arrive. I was already gone for the day & my husband had to leave for work. What were we to do? Knowing the answer now, we never should have allowed them to come into our home to attempt to do a tile job. We did allow them in to do the job and it was not done per our instructions (it was missing the grouting) and the hall way area was not centered between the upright walls. So we have a job that was installed incorrectly and installed without taking the center line of the hallway into consideration. The 2 young guys were polite, but I'm guessing a more experienced person would have centered the tiles in the hallway. But the job was not done correctly as we wanted it to be grouted!! I have called Magic Carpets 3 times & stopped in there once & the issue is still not resolved!!! We have waited 5 months for our tile to be installed correctly!!!

+ 0 moreThe sales rep, Jerry, was very knowledgeable and down to earth. He was quick to figure out what we needed for the carpeting. Phil came out to measure and he was also very knowledgeable and knew what he was doing. The installers were good, but we didn't think the communication was great between them and Jerry and Phil. They had to move furniture and put down tack strips, but they were good about doing it. They had about 4 hours of work that they didn't know they were going to have to do. The installation crew did a good job but we didn't like that they walked through our house with wet muddy shoes and they scratched our refrigerator. We would probably use them again but we would be clear on what our expectations were.

+ 0 moreI called on Monday, inquiring about a particular laminate. Within a few hours, they called me back and provided me a quote. I went there that evening and they spent 2 hours with us, helping us select laminate, underlayment, vinyl, and carpet. Two days later, I placed my order (except the carpet because I haven't finalized the color). I will definitely go back again to finalize the carpet and would highly recommend anyone to go there. They are very knowledgeable, truthful, and willing to understand your needs. Pricing and quality was excellent as well. Because the transition piece that I had purchased from them did not fit my final flooring, Magic Carpet presented 2 options for me and gave me a sample to take with me. I was able to find another MN company that had a transition piece that matched better to my flooring. Magic Carpet was willing to work with that company to get that product to me. This involved getting the sample and purchasing git. It was remarkable because Magic Carpet does not do much (or any) business with that company (at least prior to this). On top of this, Magic Carpet gave us credit for the 1st transition piece that we bought and we were able to use those funds for the 2nd transition piece.
Description of Work: The service provided was around my flooring needs. They provided flooring recommendations based on my budget. They allowed us to take flooring samples home. They helped us calculate our flooring needs based on our measurements.

+ 0 moreIt turned out very well. The project was a challenge. He had some extra-hard engineered bamboo flooring, so it took them a little longer than they expected, but they did a great job. We paid a little more but we expect it to be worth the cost, because the floor came with a 25 year warranty from them. We were very happy with them.

+ -1 moreI attempted to get an estimate on a commercial carpet installation. Floor plan was provided to Jerry. He told me that someone would go out the following day to measure it up and forward the estimate. (In this situation, the customer has national contract pricing, so Magic Carpets would be doing the install only. I explained this when I called for the estimate and they said they would take a look at it despite the fact that they prefer to only install what they sell.) Days passed and I did not receive the estimate. I contacted them again and made Phil aware of the fact that Jerry had committed to the estimate and Phil told me that they weren't interested in business that did not involved carpet sales, despite our previous conversation and Jerry's commitment to looking at the job. This lack of professionalism and continuity in business objectives is unacceptable. I would never consider them for another job and, happily, learned of this disparity in approach prior to committing to doing business with them. If this is the level of respect with which Magic Carpets treats a potential job, I would be concerned about how the customer is treated once they actually get the job.
Description of Work: None. Tried to get an estimate on carpet installation, but personnel could not agree on what services they perform.
