Great experience. They helped me choose the right flooring to use with my concrete sub floors and were careful to find the best underlayment to meet the building's requirements. All of their commitments for price and schedule were met and they even accepted the return of unopened flooring that was left over. I was also very satisfied with the installers they recommended. The floor looks great!

They mislead people by improperly grading the wood. They give you cheaper quality for a higher price.

The floor installer was recommended to us by Lumber Liquidators. The work took about a week and a half to complete. Quite literally, every time I came home, the workers were in my garage smoking. When the job was finished, there were many, many planks that did not line up flush with one another, creating a situation where you cannot pull a chair away from a table, for example, without having the legs get hung up on the wood. I have tripped on the flooring in my kitchen. We withheld some of the final payment and asked the owner to look at the job. He did not come personally, he sent one of his workman, who told us that Lumber Liquidators does not have their wood flooring milled to exacting standards, the planks would never line up flush. I have sent two inquires to Lumber Liquidators, one around November 1, 2006, and again on November 15,2006, but they will not respond. Since they will not respond, I assume their flooring is inferior.
Description of Work: We contracted with flooring company to install 1162 sq. ft. of Bellawood (Santos Mahogany) flooring from Lumber Liquidators. The wood itself cost about $7,000 and it cost another $7,200 to have it installed. The entire project cost more than $14,000, and involved the entire first floor of our home, including our kitchen. Our bathrooms and front entryway were the only rooms excluded. I have learned (the hard way) that you should never, ever buy materials from one place and have them installed by another. The flooring installer is blaming Lumber Liquidators for the shoddy quality of the wood, and Lumber Liquidators will not respond. I am now caught in the middle.

WE HAD NO IDEA WHAT WOULD BE BEST FOR OUR NEEDS WHEN WE WENT IN TO THE STORE. I MADE SEVERAL TRIPS, AND ENCOUNTERED A DIFFERENT PERSON EVERY TIME. IN EACH CASE, THE SALESPERSON WAS HELPFUL BOTH IN GUIDING US TO MAKE A GOOD DECISION AND IN GIVING US ENOUGH INFORMATION SO THAT WE COULD SUCCESSFULLY INSTALL OUR FLOORS. THEY LISTENED TO OUR WANTS AND NEEDS, ASKED ALL OF THE QUESTIONS THAT WE WOULDN'T HAVE KNOWN TO ASK, AND MADE SUGGESTIONS WITHOUT BEING PUSHY. THEY SENT US HOME WITH SAMPLES, TOOK OUR ORDER OVER THE PHONE AFTER WE DECIDED, AND LOADED EVERYTHING INTO OUR TRUCK WHEN WE PICKED IT UP. WE WERE VERY PLEASED.
Description of Work: WE PURCHASED 400 SQUARE FEET OF PREFINISHED HARDWOOD FLOORING FOR THE FIRST FLOOR OF OUR HOME.
