It was a really positive experience. We found out about him from some neighbors and it is a one-man company. He doesn't work real fast and comes and goes as he pleases; but that was not a problem for us and we knew this going in. He may not be the best guy for the job if you want someone super-fast or if you want someone promptly there at 8 a.m. and leaves at 4:30 p.m. this is not your guy. The work was great and I have no serious complaints. My only issue is that we got some kind of unusual tile for the floor of our shower and it does not look like quite as nice as I thought it would. I don't know if it is because we chose some kind of weird tile that he does not work with a lot or if it is a sign of his skill. He definitely knows what he is doing and is very meticulous. He spent a lot of time here and hired a couple of subcontractors for some of the really complicated work.

We were shocked that they were able to come so quickly - but delighted of course since our thermostat was working unpredictably. We also got a $475 estimate for installation of a humidifier and will use them for that. We were very impressed!

We got three bids on the first job, he was in the middle, but I liked his ideas so we hired him. He came in on budget for both, the budget increased from the initial bid both times, but it was due to changes we requested, and Aaron was always great about pointing out when costs were changing, options for different price points, etc. I highly commend him for being very conscientious about budget, he was very thorough on that front, he said more than once and quot;I don't like to change the amount on the estimateand quot; as I said, he didn't change it, we added to the job. Both jobs took longer than estimated, but again, we added additional work. For bath #1, Aaron bought everything himself, I met him once at HomeValu to pick out/consult on some thinngs, but he made wonderful recommendations that I usually followed exactly. For the 2nd bath, I decided to buy everything myself to try to save money by purchasing online. I did find some really great stuff at reduced prices on ebay, he worked with it all and I ended up spending almmost exactly what he had in the original budget, so I spent countless hours that I didn't need to! He is brilliant with tile, I told him more than once that he is an artist. When I asked him to tile the ceiling, I said and quot; You are an artist and should work like Michalangelo did, laying on your backand quot; I can't say enough about his skills, taste, and good nature. A real pleasure to have around, another asset you can't put a price on, feeling comfortable having someone around for a month, and feeling safe and sure when you leave him alone in the house. Only one criticism, a minor one, punctuality, I was never exactly sure what time he was coming each day, but in fairness to him, I never asked him either! As I said, we plan to have him back for our last bathroom and when we remodel our bar downstairs. In the big picture, I'd rather wait to have what I want from who I want. And who I want is Aaron Langer! Hire him, you won't regret it - and will have a beautiful bathroom! (or kitchen, or bar, or wherever you want to put your tile)
Description of Work: This was Aaron's second bathroom remodel for us, both baths started out as the typical 1950's old ugly small tile with oak cabinets with brass fixtures. An embarrassment! He gutted and tore them both all the way down to studs, painted walls, painted wood window frames, mouldings, doors, put new pocket doors in both to save space as they are both small, and now they have gorgeous tile, dark wood and nickel fixtures and are exquisite looking. I am proud to show them both off! He did all the work himself We have one bathroom left, and will call him when we are ready to conquer that last one.

Aaron Langer is an artisan. The tile is beautifully done (I've begun to notice bad tile jobs). It's amazing how he made an old non-square room look perfect. He dovetailed the tile into an arch above the bathtub/shower amazingly well. He's also meticulous with everything down to the touch-up painting. He brought in expert tradesman to do the specialty plumbing and electrical work, but he did EVERYTHING else himself. Because he did, it all turned out right . We let him store a few items in our garage to make things go easier - he swept out the whole garage after he took out his things. The only knock against Aaron (and his references mentioned this too) - he's a perfectionist, which means he may slightly miss his completion date. In our case he was five days late. I should point out though that his actual completion time was faster than the estimated deadlines we got on other quotes. We couldn't have had a better project. We hope not to do any kitchen/bathroom remodels for a long time, but if we do need tile work I will only call Aaron.
Description of Work: Completely gutted and re-built our +/- 40 sq ft bathroom (1930's St. Louis Park home, main floor bath). We supplied all of the fixtures (bathtub, toilet, lighting fixtures, tile, etc). Aaron Langer (along with a sub electrician and plumber) took the room down to the studs, rebuilt the floor boards and walls, installed all of the fixtures, installed subway tiles on the walls, installed hexagon tiles on the floor, and painted the small amount of wall not tiled along with the ceiling. The work took 30 days.
