Walter did a fantastic job repairing the chimneys on our home and matching the work to the original (well, better then the original work).

Walter and Justin were great throughout the process and have been in communication with me from day one to the end. I contacted him around 11/2014 and weather did not permit to get the work done until spring/summer. They took about 6-7 hours to get the project done and exceeded my expectations. Great Father and Son Team!
Description of Work: Extensive repair from the garage area from years of corrosion from the previous owner not having gutters. I added gutters when I moved in a few years ago but the corrosion from the elements *Snow/Rain/Salt/Humidity* took its toll. Had to replace about 8 huge concrete bricks under my garage foundation.

I'm so happy that we hired Walter to restore our decrepit chimney. We have an old brick house and the chimney is right smack in the middle in the front of the house and I was worried we'd have to tear it down and then have to deal with trying to match 70 year old brick. Walter suggested an awesome solution. He replaced the bricks at the top courses with new brick and was able to save and reuse the bricks from the top courses to replace cracked ones that were more visible towards the base. He was also able to match the mortar very closely. It looks fantastic. I was also really pleased that he took care to protect the plants in the planting bed nearby.

Walter and Justin did an excellent job first of all of protecting our roof and lawn with padding during the entire procedure Pieces of the brick had been flaking off due to moisture. Our chimney is made of the soft pink brick that I have heard referred to as Chicago brick. Walter went to a brick yard and hand picked brick that he thought would match ours, which it did beautifully. He did an excellent job of interspersing the brick they had been able to salvage from the tear down with the new brick, with the end result being that one cannot tell where the repair began. Our chimney also had a bit of a detail with an occasional brick jutting out from the others, and they replicated that as well. Walter suggested that because our brick was so soft, we have them install a limestone crown where there had previously been none. We followed his advice, and I am very glad that we did. It looks great! Walter and Justin were wonderful to work with. They were responsive and nice and cleaned up beautifully afterward..
Description of Work: Walter and his son Justin tore down and rebuilt the top ten courses of of our fifty year old chimney and installed a limestone crown with a one and a half inch overhang.

Lakeland provided us with three options, priced carefully, and provided extra service for the one we chose. They worked carefully, cleaned up carefully, and did a highly competent job -- I had a friend who had worked many years as a mason tell me what to look for. I believe this company will do it right for you -- not the cheapest but likely the most cost effective.
Description of Work: We had a chimney made of chicago pink brick that had deteriorated -- brick cracking and mortar damaged. Walter and his son removed the damaged brick almost down to the roof, used what good brick there was, and replaced damaged brick with visually similar brick, rebuilt the chimney, added a sandstone drip cap and concrete cap and replaced a section of the flue that had been damaged.

Our chimney has needed repair for two years, and we couldn't put it off any longer. Walt's estimate was within our budget and the company has wonderful scores on this list, so we hired him. He and his son were professional in every way. Changes to the estimate were discussed with us and approved prior to them doing any additional work. We are so happy with Walt we're hiring him to redo our patio bricks. I highly recommend Lakeland Masonry.

Walter was very responsive and completed the work in a couple days' time. He and a co-worker erected scaffolding and left the yard very clean. One of the days was extremely hot and gusty. I wouldn't have wanted to switch places with them on that day. Very easy to work with, explained everything thoroughly, met our budget, and stayed true to estimate. We would recommend him to anyone looking for chimney repair or similar services.

Walter promptly returned my initial phone call and came out for a bid. The work was done when he said they would finish and the cost was exactly as estimated. They "acid washed" the face of the fireplace which brought out the beauty of the stones. Even though they used acid and sprayed water from a garden hose inside the house (during a remodel) there was no indication they had made a mess. The clean up was better than ANY construction crew and probably better than I would have done. Both Walter and his son Justine are artists! I love my fireplace! I will (and have) recommend(ed) them to others.

Walter assessed the damage the day after I emailed him for a quote. He provided a written estimate along with a verbal explanation. He was the quickest, most thorough in his explanation of the quote, and he was also reasonably priced. Once we enlisted Walter's help, he was quick to set up scaffolding and found that we had some additional issues with the flue that weren't visible until he was into the job. Walter presented us with photos of the damage as well as options to fix the problem. A home inspection by the buyers of our house requested that we have the chimney cap repaired. Because this damage was beyond what the inspection addendum required us to fix, we weren't sure if the buyers wanted to have the chimney flue repaired or if they wanted to run a line for a gas fireplace vent. Walter was INCREDIBLY patient as I went back and forth through Realtors trying to make sure the buyers understood the damage and options. After several days, the buyer decided that they did not want any additional work done. Walter was more than patient and understanding of the process and while I would have loved to give him additional work, he was very understanding of the situation and was wonderful to work with.

Walter returned my phone call very quickly and came out to do an estimate within a couple days. Although the price seemed high, we had other bids that were even more. He did the work as soon as the weather was warm enough. Although he had lots of tools and scaffolding to do the job, he cleaned up everything wonderfully....and the chimney looks so much better. We would recommend them to everyone!
