KEV'S TRUCKING & EXCAVATING

We thought we needed our foundation excavated, sealed and drain-tiled. Kevin came to estimate the work. He spent a full hour inspecting our foundation and landscaping and showed us the drain tile already in place and how the foundation appeared to be sealed. He recommended that we manually do a minimal amount of landscaping to improve the grade and even suggested a company to help with that. He did not request payment for his in depth consultation, but I asked to pay him for his time since he probably saved us $1000 to $3000 in excavation and landscaping costs. This is the second time Kev has really helped us out. Several years ago in a different house he helped us repair a truly cracked, leaking foundation. You can see our grade A review for that work on this site, dated October of 2010.

Excellent work. I needed to schedule the project between another one which pushed the schedule into the late fall. While many other's were not doing small projects or had closed down for the year, Kevin appraised exactly how the special issues could be addressed in one day. He and his work partner worked together very well, both hard workers and accommodating to special minor details. I highly recommend this company for excavations.

It worked out pretty well. He left quite a mess in one of my yards but they did a good job with what we asked them to do. They did a great job but they didn't pull when they excavated the first batch of soil. They didn't take it away, they put it in our yard and it caused a major headache later on. By the time they took it away, it was too late. The clay was all over our yard and you couldn't get it all up then it ruined the lawn. Maybe I will use them again.

Definitely would hire Kev again. Our yard was a huge mess with lots of smaller trees and smaller roots coming out of the ground, he prepared it perfectly for another company to hydroseed and now we have a larger area of yard we can now enjoy! I wish I had before and after pictures because I cannot believe how different and better it looks now after Kev worked his magic. Kev even pulled out a few bushes in the front of our house we wanted removed, but didn't ask for initially. Working with Kev was a great experience and he is a honest and trustworthy business man.

Kev came on time. He was respectful of my property and took great pains to avoid injury to my lawn. He was quick and efficient--and gave very helpful advice on how to proceed with future steps in my DIY project. He is very pleasant and seems more interested in doing a good job for me than in making money from the project. He is a delightful man, who does top quality work at a reasonable price--that's hard to find!

fabulous. kevin is extremely responsive and easy to work with. he's a great guy that really knows his stuff. he worked on the final grade on a new construction lot in the middle of a hill. he handled it with ease and the grade turned out perfectly. he also built a huge rock retaining wall that is absolutely beautiful. highlight of our yard. definitely recommend him to anyone.

He was excellent. He wedged me in on a Saturday, giving up part of his weekend for me. I am under a big time crunch, and he really came thru for me. I had planned on doing this myself with my own equipment, but ran into a series of issues, and he came to the rescue. Thanks Kev, I appreciate your hard work for me. You dug the hole, now it's time for me to fill it. If only I can dodge the rain tonite/tomorrow I'll be all set.

Kev returned my phone call within a day and came out to the house on time as scheduled, he offered to to the work that week end but we were coordinating with some additional concrete work for a driveway apron so we scheduled his visit three weeks later. After three weeks passed I called to remind him an we scheduled his work, he showed up as promised and did a great job.

Kevin is awesome for the following reasons, and this is what sets him apart from all other contractors: 1. He answers his phone! 2. He calls back when he says he'll call back! 3. He shows up on the day and at the time he says he will show up! 4. His work is great and his final price is very close to original bid! I called two other contractors and they didn't even call me back. We will definitely use him again for other jobs.

As I said in the above... while I didn't actually use Kevin for the job, he gave me great advice... spending 15 minutes on the phone explaining options I could do instead of spending 2K. I'd use him in a shot!

Backyard on our home was used as parking by previous owners. Kev's Trucking helped us turn it back into a real yard! Kevin pulled out about 6 inches of gravel/sand and hauled away. He brought back in good topsoil that we could seed. In the process, he also fixed some grading issues near the house so it sloped away better and also created a small swale by the detached garage to help with runoff issues there. Everything was done promptly, pleasantly and well.

Kevin was great. He came out within a day of my call and did a thorough assessment of the problem area. He gave me an estimate for what his services would entail, but In the end, he recommended a cheaper way to solve the problem without having to use excavation and grading. He gave me the phone numbers of contractors who did the particular type of work needed. I will call them, because if Kevin recommended them, I'm sure they are great! I appreciated his honesty and punctuality and will hire him in the future for any job that qualifies for his expertise.

Many landscaping companies quoted me $2000+ to do the job, but couldn't give details and seemed unsure about what they were doing. Companies that the neighbors have hired in the past have only made the driveway worse, so I was hesitant to hire someone who seemed unsure. That was completely different when I contacted Kev's Trucking and Excavting. He knew what he was talking about- knew what size of rock and how much we would need, and even removed all the old gravel to relevel everything- something no previously hired company had done. Due to all of the problems in the past, I waited to write the review until the driveway handled a winter- and it handled it great. There are no potholes and everything is as it was when he did the work. Hiring him was simple as well- he communicated great about a date and time, was able to get out there quickly before the ground froze, and was very professional. I would highly recommend him!

1. Bidding Kevin was provided a bid within days of our request. He was the only prospective contractor that looked under the existing deck to see a concrete pad. He was the only contractor to look in the basement before estimating. This gave us confidence he had the experience to detect and avoid un-expected costs therefore could provide an accurate bid. His bid sheet included good details of what would be done, with price points for each phase of the project. 2. Professionalism Kevin was polite, prompt, and helpful explaining options. I was always able to reach Kevin by phone within a few hours, but we usually connected immediately. We are first time home builders and Kevin was very patient respectful and helpful with our inexperience. 3. Timing All work was completed in the amount of time estimated. 4. Cost Extras Despite the accurate bidding, there were some cost extras. They were all discussed and agreed to ahead of time except two. This is my only negative feedback. One, his skidsteer tires were punctured multiple times from loose nails around the construction site during back-fill. We were charged for them, but I feel this should have been a normal risk and expense of operating equipment at a construction site. Another time he stopped to help my site supervisor repair some silt fence. I appreciated the good intentions and the help, but I don't think it was necessary work.

He was okay. The price was reasonable, it was a couple of several hundred dollars. I think he was competent, he knew what he was doing, and did what I needed. It was just one man that came and he was professional. The work was fine.

When I asked him how much it would cost, he said you probably don't even need a hauler. He suggested that I go to a home improvement store and buy the green dumpster bag, fill it up and get it picked up for about $70 or $80. Note: the first 3 hauling companies quoted me $300, $150 and $118 to haul away the same description of items that i have.

On Friday morning I had a load of gravel delivered to my mom's driveway with the hope that it could be roughly dumped and spread out over the area with the dump truck. Unfortunately, the driveway is a bit tricky and the truck had to dump it in 2 massive piles, making the job of spreading it out by hand too difficult. I found Kev's listing here and gave him a call late Friday afternoon. Incredibly, he was willing to come out the next morning with his skid loader. He arrived on time and did an fantastic job. He took the time to make sure the driveway was perfect. Bottom line, my mom and I are thoroughly impressed with Kevin's work and we would highly recommend him for your grading/excavating needs.

Kevin is fast, efficient and a master with the bobcat. He did a great job, finished when he said he would and was right on budget. Of any contractor I have ever used he is probably the best communicator, he always answers his phone and is very thorough and knowledgeable about what he does. He goes over and above what is expected of him and also thinks of ways to save me money. I am having him back to do some other work too, cutting down some more buckthorn and clearing a larger area and installing a fire pit. Anytime I need some yard stuff done, I will be calling Kev, the guy just gets it.

Kevin did a very good job considering the conditions. The soil was very dry and hard and tough to work, but he stuck with it and cleared the land nicely. Nice guy, hard worker and easy to work with.

Kev was great, fit into our tricky timeline, and did our last minute requests without any problem. easy communicator. gave us good advice and high quality work !

It was just a good experience. The job took 2 plus days. I thought They worked really hard into the dark hours.

They never responded to my request for a quote. I give them a "C" only because I have no other information to provide other than the lack of communication.
