Karla Mae

Description of Work: Karla designed and made a custom photo memory album from photos and souvenirs from my trip to Spain and Portugal with my mother and sister. To call it scrap-booking would be an understatement, as the album truly was a work of art. I provided Karla with our itinerary and selected the photos for her to include, labeling them in groups so she would know which ones went together. I had about 200 photos. I also marked pages in Rick Steve's Guide to Spain and Portugal for her to use. Karla used her creative eye to arrange the photos on each page. She purchased an album for me and selected custom scrapbook paper, using different paper for each page. The papers she used complimented the photos beautifully. Her choice of wording for descriptors (written details of who, what, where) was perfect and she made the descriptions more interesting than my basic choice of words. She incorporated maps or drawings cut out of the Rick Steve's guidebook which will help us remember our visits to tourist destinations such as El Prado Museum in Madrid. She artfully included mementos such as matchbooks and tickets. She also made several pockets on the appropriate pages to hold maps.
