k2 far exceeded our expectations. Stephen came to our house promptly and on time to meet with us to draw up plans and price out the deck. he was very professional, knowledgable, and easy to work with. Bill was our pm and did a great job communicating timelimes, keeping the project on track and ensuring the deck was executed to perfection. I would highly recommend K2 for your project, top quality company.

They came out to see me. They came out and made a presentation, I thought they were punctual and professional. I enjoyed their visit with them. We decided ultimately not to pursue with them, and so there hasn't been any follow up with that. I didn't actually hire them to do their services. They said that the estimate was like $49.00 or something to come out and take a look at the kitchen and make some design suggestions and stuff. They did do that, they gave me some ideas. Some of their ideas were helpful for us to move forward with our kitchen project. I paid upfront for them to come out and do a kitchen design consultation. It was about 90 minutes or something, so I thought that was fair. They offered to apply that to our bill if we hired them for their services. The problem isn't what they did. I just decided to go with a local group instead of with them.

Thank you for the review. Given that you hired another outfit, we would love to be connected to that contractor so that we might sell our cabinets to him. Our wholesale line is truly a superb value. All maple boxes, full overlay and all the bells and whistles for a rock bottoms price.

Agent was late and unprofessional. Accused of having wrong address but correct information sent and he just went to the wrong place. Quote was almost $2k more than any other contractor we had over for an estimate. Agent was rude and condescending when told that price was too high, stated, "Are you just hiring a guy with a truck?" Very unprofessional and overpriced, would never contact again.

Thank you for the C on responsiveness. It sounds like my sales rep was at the tail end of a long day, got cranky and went temporarily insane. Those guys have a tough job. They hear NO from prospects more often than not and like anyone else, they can sometimes get frustrated. I talk voice to voice with most of the customers we sign up to ensure our reps are doing a good job, but perhaps I should be calling the customers they don't sign instead to ensure they are always protecting my brand. Thanks for the feedback it will not go to waste.

Ok...This customer had a deck and a bathroom that were poorly constructed by a previous owner. I'm talking major errors that affect the integrity of the home itself. We scheduled an appointment first with our deck designer. The Mrs. did not show up for the appointment and instead sent her husband to meet with us. The first appointment started 30 minutes late. Upon examination, the scope of work that they requested was essentially a re-deck of a poorly built/non-code compliant structure. We informed them that the deck would need to be demo'd and rebuilt. re-decking was not an option. This solution was out of budget. We had a subsequent appointment scheduled with a bathroom designer to look at the master. The customer called our marketer 40 minutes before the appointment to make sure that we were prepared to help them with a face-lift project only and that a full remodel was not something they would consider. Our deck designer, who had seen the bathroom on the first visit informed us that this was again not going to be an option. Only a full project would suffice. Our marketer asked the bathroom designer to call the customer directly to discuss and it was decided at that time that our visit would be a waste of everyone's time. We were polite and respectful, but at the end of the day we have to be judicious with our time just like everyone else.

The finished product is okay, but for what they put us through. I felt like we didn't think they ever gave our project priority. We were told it would take only like a week or two at the max to complete the project. It took ten weeks. It became so clear that we weren't a priority. It was like they were sending people over between other jobs. We felt that because it was just 2 woman, me and my mom, that was a factor. They were going to try to charge us for extra materials. My mom had a fit and said we had contracted for this work. At the very end, to get them back to finish there was just a couple little things. I had to threaten them with bad reviews and going to the BBB just to get them to finish. The salesman was smooth but things went down hill after that. We are happy with the final product but it was not a good experience.

We have a really easy to understand scope of work created on each project. It comes with CAD drawings and before we execute every project we thoroughly review each aspect with the client. Anytime work is added to a project, whether it is a concealed pre-existing condition or a customer add-on we require compensation for that work. It has been my experience, having served well over 5000 home owners in my career, that this expectation is not always received with grace. We will always deal fairly with our clients and we expect the same from them.

Staff from K2 was quick to respond to our request for an estimate and was punctual on the date of the scheduled appointment. The quality of design and products shown appeared to be of high quality. The overall price to remodel our not very large bathroom was $23,000 which was much higher than our expectation/budget of around $10,000. The sales rep, did not inquire about our budget prior to starting the appointment or showing products. We were offered a discount to commit to the project the day of the appointment. We declined saying we had several other estimates scheduled. Once the sales rep knew we were not committing to the remodel that day, her demeanor changed. She was abrupt, bordering on rude. Most disappointing however, is that we never did receive the estimate/breakdown we were promised.

Hi (customer), Thank you for the feedback. The designer I sent to see you was actually my youngest sister! She really is a sweet and a heck of a designer. Its hard to hear this criticism of her. I'm sorry you didn't have a great experience. As for the budget question, we usually let our customers bring this up. Most customers play their cards close to the vest and feel like being open with us about their budget will somehow put them at a disadvantage in the negotiation. This is an understandable concern, but in our case it is totally unwarranted. Frankly our job would be much easier if folks would be forthcoming about their budget goals and trust us, but it has become our policy to wait for customers to offer that information. Instead, we attempt to establish value prior to discussing cost. We generally focus on meeting all of the customers requirements from a design perspective and then go about the business of backing unnecessary or luxury aspects of the project out until we reach a comfortable price threshold.

The quality of the work was great, the value was very good. The reason for the C overall grade was some breakdowns in communication that happened both between the project manager and us as well as the project manager and some of the subcontractors. Specifically, once we were nearly done with the job there were a few minor last minute touch up items that we were assured would be addressed in a timely manner, we were so confident in this that we even made our final payment before these items were taken care of (which might be where we went wrong). It then took 3 or 4 weeks and multiple calls to both the PM and the headquarters in order to get our installer out to finish up the job. I don't know if we would hire K2 again, they did great work but could improve their responsiveness and communication based on our experience.

We opted for K2 because we thought we'd get the best possible quality for a slightly higher price than some of the other offers. The deck is extremely solid and we're very happy with the design and choice of decking material. However, the finishing quality was very disappointing. There was poor communication between the salesman and the installation team. The wrong screws were initially used for the edge boards, and the installer insisted that it was done correctly. Eventually we worked the salesman to get the color-matched screws used instead. Those were supposed to be mounted flush, but no tool was used so most all of them were over-driven. The boards around the edges are also not as flush as our friends' decks. They came back out several times to address things as able after the fact, but the underlying "first-time" quality just wasn't there, and there's only so much you can after the fact with screws and evenness of the framing.

We had an awesome experience with Chad at K2! He arrived to our home on time and ready to answer all my questions, and I had lots of them. He was very patient and provided so many awesome ideas on how to make our remodel exactly what we envisioned it to be. He was very detailed in taking exact measurements of our area and working with us to decide on how we wanted to best utilize our space. I liked that he listened to what we wanted opposed to pushing for what he thought we should do. The final concept art of our project was AMAZING!! It brought my vision to life and really boosted my excitement level to move forward with our remodel. One of the things that sets K2 apart from most other companies is that I was given options; some more expensive and some that would help to save us money on our project!! Overall our experience was amazing and I can't wait to get the project started and completed with the help of K2!!

FYI: I am not a carpenter by trade, but I would consider myself a competent amateur carpenter. I remodeled our basement and bathroom, and I flipped a house a few years back, so I probably have more construction knowledge than many homeowners. This was useful going into this project when discussing bid details with the contractors involved. My wife and I met with K2 salesman Bryan at our home. He was very professional and personable. We showed him a drawing of what we wanted done and we discussed all of the decisions necessary to complete the project. He came back with a bid the following day. We also got bids from 2 other companies and I told Bryan that I would let him know if we decided to go with someone else to give him the last chance to get the work. We originally decided to go with another company based on several factors including final cost and deck/railing materials in each bid. I told Bryan that his bid was substantially higher and I could not understand how he came to the final number. He let us know that he thought nobody could responsibly and safely and honestly do the project for the other company's low bid that we planned to go with. He thought it would become a situation where the other builder would either cut corners or continuously add change requests to increase the final cost. Of course every salesman has some convincing lines but I have heard these horror stories and I could see his point so we continued the discussion. I had priced out all of the material for the job separately so I asked him how he comes up with the rest of the numbers -- labor, project management, profit margin, etc. He was very open and honest about each part of the bid as we went through it. We had different estimates for some of the numbers and Bryan was flexible with changing some things to come to agreement where it made sense. We got to a point where we were leaning more toward K2's bid. At that point Bryan said that was his lowest number but he would include an upgraded aluminum railing and LED lighting system. We were happy with that so we accepted the bid. Bryan put me in touch with the project manager. Bill is very easy to talk to and a knowledgeable builder. We went through some details and set a start date a few weeks out. In the meantime, the carpenter, Chuck, called to ask if he could come have a look at the job so he knew what to expect when they began the work. He only lives a mile away so he came out, took a look at things, asked some questions, and answered some of mine. I liked Chuck right off the bat. Work started as scheduled in the beginning of June. Bill was on site first thing to make sure that we were all on the same page and that all of the material was ready. The old deck was gone in no time and the footings for the new deck were dug. The footings required inspection but they continued with parts of the deck that could be temp'd up until the footings were set. Inspection was fine and the deck progressed quickly. Bill checked in frequently to make sure we were happy with things and to keep supplies ready for the carpenters. Chuck was the primary carpenter, with Kevin as the second and some other guys doing general labor as required. They were all very friendly and nice to have around. I work from home so I was out there constantly observing, asking questions, and making decisions on the fly. Over the course of the project Chuck and I became friends. I told him about some grief we had been through with recent deaths in the family and at that point the project became a point of pride for Chuck to go far above and beyond in order to give us the very best. I don't think Chuck knows how to do things any differently but he spent a lot of extra time (his own) to make sure every detail was exact and any imperfection was corrected. In the end we are happy that we did not go with the lowest bid. We have no idea how the other builders would have turned out, but you get what you pay for and we feel that we got great quality. We are very happy with the outcome of this project. We ended up with an outstanding deck and mudroom, and a great friend and golf buddy as a bonus. If only Chuck was as good a golfer as he is a carpenter :)

I had a great experience with K2 Bath & Kitchen, starting with Chad who drew up the job scope and gave the bid (in which I felt was very fair) and provided financing. Then the job was turned over to Jon the construction manager, and the crew, (my crew was Tavo, Eli and Adam) I loved all of them. They did great work and were super accommodating! Even put up with my dogs in their faces and loved them up each day! I actually kinda miss them! They were so easy and willing to work with me and my very demanding design. We all worked together to solve the issues that come up in construction and it turned out amazing. Wish I could share pictures! Tavo was a perfectionist on his tile work, which I appreciated because I am too, even removed tiles I didn't like and let me choose which ones went where. They even added a small tile job around my fireplace no questions asked, just did it for me! Like I said so accommodating! Always cleaned up after the day and always used drop cloths and sealed up bedroom to help keep out dust. I got my way on everything, we always figured out solutions, and it looks and functions just as I planned. I had such a great experience that I am hiring them to re-construct my basement after the city flooded it! Which includes a bath and family room and storage room. Can't wait to get the second project underway. I really liked them and their work and had such a great turn out, that I would recommend them to my friends and family. Sincerely, TJ ps....this is an example of how nice they were, I was changing out a door handle and I was struggling with it not fitting right, Tavo offered to help and took over and made it work for me, just the little extra's mean a lot to us home owners, he just did it out of kindness, it was not his job.....

After interviewing approximately 4 contractors over 2 1/2 years, who were not quite sure of how to approach the renovation, I chose and started the process with K2 Bath & Kitchen who did not back away from the challenge. Chad came to the house with books and samples in hand. We sat for hours and talked about my vision for the project. He went over every detail of the company, what they represented and what to expect when signing with them. To be honest, I could have done with less detail in the presentation. It was about 3 hours when he finally finished and I was drained. Choosing someone to tear your house apart and disrupt your life for a couple of months is stressful for anyone, but it had to be done, and I'm glad it was. At the beginning, Chad and I did not agree on the style and tile selection, since I have a more contemporary/modern look and he was thinking more traditional. But everything fell into place when Jon the Production expert, who I learned to trust more and more every time we met, came on the scene. I explained to Jon the look I was going for, and although "contemporary" was not the usual for him, he listened and I took his advice as well. I started out wanting to keep the present marble floor in tact and remodel around it but realized that this was not the practical option. I was very active in choosing the materials for the project. Jon orchestrated a very talented crew of Gustavo, Eli and Adam and very qualified subcontractors to build the cabinet, glass doors/mirror, plumbing, and electrical. All were friendly, professional and the most highly qualified that I have seen. If there was a minor slip, Jon took care of it immediately and always had a positive attitude. I could not be more pleased with the results of the renovation. The bathroom is more beautiful than I could have imagined. I have never had someone as helpful, cooperative, understanding, knowledgeable and easy to communicate with as was Jon. He is a treasure to the business and I hope we cross paths on another project in the near future.

Wow. What a great project. As a fiercely loyal business partner, it makes me so happy to read a review like this about Jon. Too often the production managers efforts go either unnoticed or unappreciated. He is the best in the business we have known that for years, but when it shows up in a review for the public it is really rewarding. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you.

We love our new bathroom! K2 bath design was wonderful to work with from start to finish. After inquiring about getting a new bathroom we were contacted quickly by Chelsea. Chelsea was great to work with. She was always quick to respond to any questions that we might have had. At her first visit with us she came to our house and we talked about exactly what we wanted in our new bathroom. We talked details and got a quote on the spot. The project manager we worked with, Dustyn, was also great to work with. He was great at keeping us up-to-date on what was happening with our project. Dustyn came on site multiple times during the project and when any issue came up he was quick to fix it. K2 bath design completely gutted our old bathroom and put in a beautiful new one. We love our new heated floor! It makes it some much nicer to get out of the shower, especially since it it is a basement bathroom. The floor tile and shower tiling is beautifully done. The shower is so nice. The other nice thing about the whole project is it barely took any time and it was within the time frame that we were originally given. The whole project took about 3 weeks. Thank you K2 bath design for a great new bathroom.

This is a perfect example of a project that could've been approached strictly from a practical perspective. Instead we made the extra effort with the permission of this great customer and created a really nice space in what could've otherwise been a very basic bathroom. We are thrilled with the outcome and thank you for the review.

The remodel went smoothly. Damon the project manager did a fantastic job keeping the project moving from demo day until the last day. Dave the subcontractor who spent most of the time in our house went above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience. We only have the one toilet, so on demo day everything was removed except for the toilet, the project was to last approximately 3 weeks. The job was completed in a week and a half, and the only time we were without the toilet was the last two days of the project, when the new sub floor and tiles were installed. Thank You to the team for our beautiful bathroom
Description of Work: K2 bath completed a bathroom remodel for the one bath in our home. We met with a design specialist Chelsea at our home to discuss our ideas. She clearly understood what we wanted and helped to pick the right materials from the samples that were brought. We signed a contract and the work was to start the first of June, but one of the contractors they used was just finishing a job, so he could start 2 weeks earlier than expected.

Chad came out to do the estimate and was punctual, very friendly and knowledgeable. His sales approach is a little high pressure for our style, but he was enthusiastic and it was clear that he wanted us to sign an agreement in our initial meeting. We said we needed to consider it and talk with other contractors, too. Oddly, we never heard back from Chad or anyone at K2. This is the first time I've had a contractor come out to do an estimate but then never follow up. It's not a huge deal, particularly since we decided to go with a contractor that had a significantly lower estimate, but it jumped out to me as strange to not follow up. If we had another bathroom project we would have K2 provide an estimate, we liked them and they appeared to be an honest, efficient and high quality operation, though not the least expensive option.
Description of Work: One of several contractors who provided an estimate to remodel our upstairs bathroom and add a closet. We ultimately decided to go with a less expensive contractor.

Hi [Member Name Removed], Uh...I left 3 voicemails, sent a follow up written proposal and got no return call? Gave up in the opportunity. Not sure where the disconnect is? Good luck with the project.
