K C GROVES TREE EXPERTS INC

KC Groves provided an estimate for removal of two treestumps and removed them a week later.

I chose to go with them at first, as the price was the lowest of a few bids. I had to get the tree trimmed within a certain window of time and he said he was two weeks out with service. I had a hard time with him returning calls until I informed him I would be going with another company.

Really pleased with the job. We were not at home when the job was done and when we came home the job was finished and everything was cleaned up as well as we could expect. Because there is snow on the ground you can see more of the sawdust and the pathways taken and some normal wood residue on the ground, but this isn't a complaint, only an observation. If the job had been done in the summer, you would barely even notice they'd been there. The trimming job on the back trees was very thorough as they cut the lower limbs up quite high so that we should not need to trim now for a long time and it feels more open in the back yard. The price was acceptable to us, although we didn't get any other bids and just went from Angie's list recommendation.

I called KC Groves for a quote to remove a large tree in my backyard. They looked at the tree right away when I was at work and gave me a quote. They did not pester me afterward about it at all. It was hard for me to get in touch with them to have the tree removed, as there was never any answer when I called. Overall, they did a good job removing the tree. They did ding up the yard a little bit. Also, I found it odd that when they came to remove the tree, they just did it. They didn't even knock on the door or talk to me at all, and we had only spoken on the phone - they just cut it down. I had described the tree over the phone, but what if they were at the wrong address or there was a miscommunication about what work to do? I would think that a company would knock on the door and verify the work before they cut a tree down.

KC's team did a great job - more than I expected. He and the team are knowledgeable. They took the time to understand why I was requesting the services and suggested solutions that I hadn't thought of. They were quick, clean and friendly. The fees were exactly as quoted.

They were very good and did an excellent work. They finished the work in timely manner and cleaned up everything after the work was done.

Smooth transaction. The tree was gone without a trace when I returned home from work. He charged a little less than the other firm that gave me an estimate. Both firms were ranked highly on Angies list. You can't go wrong!

They arrived right on time just as Excel was taking the power line down. They backed a truck into my backyard and raised a bucket up into the canopy of the tree. Each limb was roped off, cut and carefully lowered to the ground. They worked all day with just a short break for lunch. By 4:00PM the last of the tree was down. Every stick was raked and even the small sticks that fell on the roof were cleaned off. I was particularly impressed with how slowly they lowered the limbs that hung over my neighbors yard and fence. My neighbors definately had nothing to worry about.

The price is average. They do everything they are supposed to. I will continue to use them in the future and would recommend them to others.

Due to the delay in respond time I had already chosen a different company. Also, their estimate was higher than the company I chose.

Overall, I had called two different companies from Angie's List for estimates. This one was more prompt on the estimate and came to talk to us and gave us ideas for what we wanted to do; no pressure, very knowledgeable and they came out within two days. They cleaned up everything as if they hadn't even been there but the tree was gone!

They came in and took about 2 hours to complete the job. We have used KC Groves several times before, and received the same efficient, competent service. They were thorough in their cleanup. We were very pleased.

Company removed 2 large box elder trees using 1 boom truck and 1 large crane. Work was done as promised, and the bid was considerably lower than 2 others I had received. I've used them before and have been very satisfied.

Once an appointment time was set (weather conditions delayed the work a bit), the work was completed as scheduled. The area was was cleaned very nicely upon completion.

I contacted Casey for an estimate. We set up an appointment between 10AM - 12PM on a Saturday. I wanted to discuss a downed tree and some trimming needed on other trees. I made sure Casey knew how important he kept this appointment - told him I was stood up last weekend from another tree service company. Casey assured me he would keep this appointment and would arrive on time. Saturday came - Casey never showed up and never called. I finally called him on his cell phone to find out he wasn't coming after all. I guess he's too busy to keep his scheduled appointments or call his customers to inform them. Unacceptable and extremely poor service. I would not recommend a company who has such little regard for their customers.

I called Casey right after I saw the limb and tried to take it down myself---which I couldn't, because of its size, weight and position. I left a voice mail for him: he called back promptly and the next day there was an estimate in my mailbox. I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the quote was: I've been gouged by tree services, particularly after heavy storms like the one that knocked down our limb, so I was braced for a bill of anywhere from $300 up. When I called Casey back to tell him I had accepted his proposal, he said he would be by the following day as he had another job in the neighborhood, and that he would leave the bill in my mailbox when he was done. I didn't have to be there to pay him or supervise! I kept waiting for a catch, but there was none. When I came home from work, the limb was gone, the yard had been cleaned up, and the bill was in the mailbox. I was very pleased with the results.

Showed up for estimate right on time. Was knowledgeable and gave an accurate estimate without trying to sell extras. Called before coming to my home to give notice that we should move vehicles. Performed the work professionally and did a nice job cleaning up.

KC was recommended by a few neighbors and friends. What a great find! He answered my call for an estimate request the very next day, and came out within the week, at my convenient time. He wrote an estimate, made suggestions and because it was summer, said to call in the fall to schedule. I called in the fall, and within a week, his crew was here, on time, very professional and respectful. They did a fantastic job cleaning up, and other than the cleaned out wooded back yard that I wanted, I would never have known that they were here.

When he finally showed up, he cut it down and hauled it away with no mess, which was good. However, he left about 6 inches of stump above the ground, and when I called to ask him to return and cut it down to the ground, he never called me back (probably because I had already sent the payment). In addition, he didn't call back or come when he said he was going to (the week after Memorial Day) so I had to call him and ask whether he was coming or not, and when, etc. So, overall I wasn't that impressed. I'm not sure whether I'd ever hire him again.

THEY CAME OUT AND TOOK DOWN 2 TREES QUICKLY AND CLEANLY. WHEN A THIRD TREE GOT IN THE WAY OF OUR CONSTRUCTION, THEY CAME OUT QUICKLY SO THAT IT WOULDN'T SLOW DOWN OUR PROJECT AS MUCH. WE HAD TO HIRE ANOTHER COMPANY TO TAKE OUT THE STUMPS.

CAME OUT VERY QUICKLY TO DO AN ESTIMATE AND ARRIVED RIGHT ON TIME TO DO THE WORK. VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE. CASEY SEEMS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND THE CREW DID A GOOD JOB. THEY HAD TO TAKE THE BRANCHES ABOUT A HALF BLOCK DOWN A BUSY STREET TO THE TRUCK WITH A GOLF CART, SO REMOVAL WAS NOT EASY. THE STUMP WAS TAKEN CARE OF THROUGH ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL AND THAT TOOK A LITTLE MORE PRODDING, BUT CASEY HELPED TO FOLLOW UP WHEN THE STUMP WASN'T REMOVED RIGHT AWAY. THE STUMP REMOVAL WAS DONE WELL WHEN COMPLETED.

MY CALL WAS NEVER RETURNED AND A QUOTE WAS NEVER PROVIDED.

KC GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE THE NEXT DAY I CALLED HIM, AND SENT A CREW OUT RIGHT AFTER I AGREED TO THE PRICE. THE CREW PERFORMED THE WORK EXPEDITIOUSLY AND PROFESSIONALLY. THEY EVEN TRIM AND REMOVE SOME OTHER BRANCHES TO MAKE THE TREE LOOK GOOD. THE PRICE IS VERY REASONABLE.

ALL OF THE WORK THEY DID, WHICH WAS A LOT, WAS EXCELLENT. THEY EVEN SENT ME AN E-MAIL AFTER THE FIRST DAY OF WORK TO TELL ME THEY WOULD BE BACK TO CLEAN UP. THEY WERE ON TIME AND DID A GREAT JOB.
