Junk Genius

Left a message for Junk Genius to call. They called that same evening and scheduled to pick it up first call the 36 hours later. They arrived exactly on time.

The price was kind of an issue because I got a special that they had for four cubic yards or something like that. When they came out and I showed them everything that I had, it ended up costing me three times what I thought it was going to. I was a little bit disappointed about that. I like the concept of the service, and the guys that came out were really nice, I just felt like it was one of those bait and switch, you know, where they offer you this really good price, but when they come out there, what they can actually haul away is nothing like what they tell you. The guy told me, well each cubic foot is going to be about the size of, I can't remember, he compared to the size of a washing machine. Well that guy that came out to get it said, well you have to pay extra for this and you have to pay extra for this, and this came after they had loaded everything up in the truck, so I didn't really have any choice but to pay it. I just felt like it was a bait and switch situation.

Less cleaning than I had hoped, but they hauled everything I requested.

I had purchased a deal through Angie's List, thinking I had about 3 yards of junk in the garage. I underestimated my junk by quite a bit and they had to return. The first visit was a Friday and they were able to come back on Monday. They dealt with unexpected squirrels' nests with more composure than I would have expected anyone to have! Overall, happy with the service.

I wasn't 'wowed' by the garage sweep-up after they took the junk -- their ad seemed to incline that they'd transform your space to be so clean. They did sweep, but they didn't clean the garage floor. I was mostly interested in ridding myself of larger junk items for that part of their service I was satisfied for the price I paid.

Fast and efficient. Very professional. Good price.

Very smooth. They came, I showed them the space to clear and then went back inside. When they were done, they knocked on the door to let me know and get my approval, and then that was that. Probably more expensive than it needed to be, but I was just glad to have the junk gone.

Able to book for the day after I called. Within time window given I got a phone call to say they were 20-25 minutes away. Got here, guys were pleasant and efficient, took the sofa and were on their way. Price was the same as quoted, got senior discount as soon as I mentioned it. Very happy to get sofa out of house. It was heavy and there was no way we could move it ourselves.

I think it worked out well. They came out quickly and were very efficient. I was very pleased with their services. They provided friendly service. I would use them again.

It did not go - he never contacted us and ignored requested dates that was solicited at the time of paying for the service. I have already reviewed this service on December 10, 2016 and requested a refund as no service was provided - thus I am confused by this additional request.

I talked to the person that owned the company at first, and he gave me the impression that well, I said, well we need someone to go up into the ceiling and get stuff down that we haven't seen, and he kind of freaked out, and he said, well we can't do all that. So I was a little worried when they came, but the guys who came were just so very nice, they did just exactly what we asked them too, and there was no problem, but the owner I think it was that I talked to or a supervisor made it seem like I was asking for the moon, so I was a little apprehensive, but when they got out here everything went just fine. They did it very nicely and very quickly. They came out within a couple of days after we called them.

Great - I needed help getting old stuff out of the garage and into a truck. The two men from the company did a fast and efficient job. I can't imagine doing the work they did so quickly - and then they swept up the floor! I was elated to see all that stuff go!!

Unfortunately, when I first contacted them to set up the appointment, the person I talked to began to walk back on most of the promises in the promo. He stated that 3 cubic yards equals 3 washing machines in size and if I wanted any more hauled away I would need to pay extra. He also said that they would not take things out of the garage and only would sweep it out. After this conversation I told him I would work with them to pull stuff out and once we got to 3 cubic yards I would be done. The day of the appointment, they had my phone number wrong and so I did not get the call that they were coming. I was at home and they left a card in the door without knocking at the door, so I missed them. I called to inquire where they were and, based on the response, was made to feel that it was my fault that I did not pick up the call that I never got. I was told the appointment would need to be rescheduled. When I explained that I would not be taking off of work again to have this done, he said they would be there in 45 minutes. When they called again they were right outside my garage, so I did not have time to start pulling things out. The guy immediately repeated everything he had already told me in the initial phone conversation about what they COULDN'T do. As I directed his crew to the things I wanted taken away, his response repeatedly was: "we aren't supposed to take _____." So I told him to leave it, to which he responded, "we'll take it just this once, just to help you out." His passive aggressive behavior was infuriating. After telling me they would not be removing items from the garage for the sweep out, and as I was hauling the stuff out myself, he offered to help. I told him not to, as I did not want to be in violation of the contract. It was, quite possibly the worst experience I have EVER had with ANY service provider. I would like to request that this company not be allowed to be promoted on Angie's List anymore.

Fairly okay - there was a slight hiccup - husband & I were in garage tagging stuff to go, workers showed up at front door and waited, instead of coming thru alley where garage was. They were out front waiting (15 minutes). I missed their 8:45 call (tagging stuff in garage) - they were scheduled to arrive at 9am & finally at 9:20 I called them to find out what happened. They had gone to another job. I was a little frustrated at first because they had picked up a lot of stuff at the other job so there wasn't very much room for my stuff. Three (3) cubic feet (size of 3 washing machines) was a lot less than I had anticipated. Anyhow, after meeting them I was happy with their work and would recommend them to my friends and for future hauling.

They did a fine job. We had to spend more. The amount that we had for garage clean-up was more than what the big deal purchase was. They were very responsive. They did a fine job.

They were great. I'd give them the highest score. The price and quality were fine. They came in and did what they were supposed to. They did it quickly and left. That's exactly what I wanted.

The two guys came on time, worked hard and cleaned out everything from the garage that needed to go. They were very professional but also sociable. I would definitely hire them again.
