Interior painting

Jose and his crew (shout out to Oliver) scraped, caulked, primed, and painted all the wooden trim on our house including windows and eaves. They worked through dreadful weather conditions - three weeks in this cold October! - and never complained. The old trim needed a lot of prepping and they made it look great.

Jose and his team did a great job painting the exterior of our 2-story house. They answered all of our questions, showed up when they said they would, used good paint products, and did a great job prepping and painting the exterior with a 2-tone finish. Thanks Jose!!

Jose did a great job. He didn't ask for any money up front, instead waiting until the job was about half done to ask for a portion of the fee . He and his partner were timely, professional, and put in a lot of hours. They really wanted to make sure I was happy with the work and I am. He was patient with me as I wasn't sure of the color so he put some on the house and let me look at it to decide before going further. He also just really went above and beyond expectations. His fee was very reasonable and included more than other bids. For instance, he did a lot of caulking around the house, he painted the pillars (including TONS of finish nail holes left by the builder 9 years ago) on our porch and all the trim. The other bid we had was significantly higher, and didn't include the porch pillars or any trim. And Jose could start within a couple of weeks instead of a couple months. He essentially did the porch for free. Although it wasn't part of our original agreement, he also offered to sand and stain our small back deck as well. He was meticulous and overall just did a very nice job, and is a nice guy as well. I expect the paint to last for some time as he used good quality paint and did a spray on coat and a roll on coat as well.

Jose came and painted the parts of my house that could only be reached on a tall ladder. I had trouble finding a contractor who was willing too accept such a small painting job, but he was happy to help me. Jose answered the phone right away when I called and was able to come and give me an estimate that same day. He was very flexible with his work times and was able to complete the job in two days of work. I found the price very reasonable and the quality of work excellent. I would hire him again in the future.

We couldn't have asked for a better end result and experience when it came to working with Jose. From the start, he was professional and responsive. He started the job on the date that he said he was going to start. Unlike a lot of larger painting companies, Jose does most of the work himself and is always on site making sure everything is going smoothly. He takes great pride in his work and the satisfaction of the customer. We decided to change the colors of a few sections of the house from what was originally discussed, and he was completely accommodating of this. He also patched and caulked around window trim where it was needed, going above and beyond the scope of what a normal exterior painter would do. We communicated mostly in Spanish, but Jose also speaks good English. The end product is pristine, and we couldn't be happier with the result. We'd highly recommend him for any exterior painting job. Jose was very punctual providing an estimate and prompt in scheduling work the following week. He did excellent work painting my basement walls and garage door trim and filled in the gouges (Bondo) on my garage trim before painting. Jose has a helper, so the job went very quickly. I provided the paint, but I am sure Jose can also buy paint for you if you work with him. There were no spills of paint anywhere after the work, which was two coats of paint. All was pristine when he left. Jose's prices are more than fair. If you truly want an excellent paint job, Jose recommends a high quality paint that dries quickly and has low VOC...such as Benjamin Moore. It costs more than the Home Depot brands, but is worth the extra cost I think and Jose agrees. I would hire again!

Jose is very hard working and professional. He is polite and courteous. He did a great job and completed the project as he estimated. I had initially called several painters to get bids and many did not get back to me. Jose got back to me right away, he come out and gave me an estimate on the spot. I feel I got great value for the price of the project.

Our 95 year old stucco duplex needed to have the upper and lower exterior windows reglazed and painted. We took a few other estimates, but were dissatisfied with the ridiculously high price and availability of the other contractors. We hired Jose because of his Angie's List reviews and our interactions with him during the bid meeting. I found him to be consistently responsive and prompt, which is helpful because so many contractors never even return calls and miss bid appointments. It took four days for Jose to do both the upper and lower windows, as well as touch up a few other exterior areas. His work is excellent and he left little to any trace of painting specs or old putty behind. He also was careful to clean up any smudges on the outside of the windows. I highly recommend him and would definitely hire him for a future project.

Excellent - Jose was very detailed. Even though it was just "sprucing up our garage for an upcoming grad party", Jose took the time to fill all the many holes (unexpected) and definitely went the extra mile. Great to work with and reasonably priced for quality workmanship!

Jose is a one person operation. He is meticulous and professional. Carpeting needed to be installed midway through his work. He did an excellent job masking and protecting the new carpeting in those areas he needed to paint.

Exceeded expectations!

Jose was responsive and was able to give us an estimate in one day. We discussed timing and he was able to fit ours in, in between two larger jobs. We had picked out the colors and he purchased the paint. He repaired several spots where plaster was damaged in addition to filling all the various holes in the different rooms. He did a really wonderful job with the details. He was clearly a very experienced painter. Jose did a very nice job in all the rooms and cleaned up everything nicely afterwards. We were very happy with the results and will definitely hire him again.

Jose was fantastic! This was a very short notice project because I was moving in the following week. He was able to start the project within 3 days and finished in 2 1/2 days. He painted the walls, ceilings and even the closets! I highly recommend Jose. He was very prompt and careful with the project and very reasonable.

Jose did an excellent job. He scraped and primed one day, then came back and painted two coats. He works hard, and was very prompt in providing an estimate and doing the work after I gave him the job. He does the work himself, by hand. He does the labor and I provided the paint. His estimate was lower than others and I would assume this is because he has low overhead with doing the work himself. He has all necessary equipment and guaranteed the work, asking me to notify him if anything showed chipping and that he would repair it. Overall great work.

He does a good job, works hard, works on the weekend. He charges $60 for each side for scraping, caulking, repairing the glazing, and painting.(Windows not removed).

Jose did a great job with the painting. He spent one day sanding all of the areas and priming - then came back the next day to add two coats of paint. It was a large area with lots of trim around the garage and three different colors. I provided the paint and he took care of the rest. The last time I had it painted was by someone using a sprayer. By the next year, it had already started peeling. Jose did all of his work by hand. The finished product still looks great nine months later.

I have used Jose for painting work for many years. In this case I had done some renovation on a stairway in my 100-year-old house (https://thisoddhouseblog.wordpress.com) and wanted the walls to be dressed up to match. I also needed to restore a deck and walkway that had deteriorated. He did a "power wash", and after the wood dried, applied a semi-transparent stain. He has the equipment for this and other painting jobs. Jose is skilled and affordable. I provide the paint, and the labor costs reflect his low overhead (he is an individual, not a company). He is prompt and reliable, and I will continue to use him for my painting projects.
