Have been in business since 2006 and JNJ has over 15 years of remodeling and home repair experience. We specialize in both residential and commercial work. Does work with licensed and reputable HVAC, plumbing, electrical, siding and roofing subs- each with 20+ years experience.
He did everything asked of him quickly and competently. He was a pleasant fellow, who kept asking what was next. The only problem was that someone was expected a couple of days earlier. There was a "no show" on that day, because the boss' computer crashed and he lost all my info, but was very apologetic when I called him back.
Description of Work: This guy hung an original piece of bronze art on a rod between ceiling and wall, as well as shades. He cleaned out ceiling lights that needed dismantling before bulb changing and cleaning. Repaired a curtain rod and hung another. Plus there were other tasks completed that I no longer remember. All this in four hours.

They did what they said they would do but they didn’t really follow up on any of the recommendations they made.
Description of Work: This was the Big Deal for $99 for $200 worth of Roofing Maintenance plus Inspection.
In summary, I highly recommend JNJ. Jonothan Jackson was consistently pleasant to work with, appeared to be quite knowledgeable and went out of his way to do an unusually careful and thorough job.
Description of Work: This was a small bathroom with a shower which was completely gutted and remodeled. I originally got 5 estimates for this job. JNJ’s estimate was organized, reasonable & logical . . . obviously the best choice. Whereas the other estimates were either confusing inconsistencies, incomplete, priced too high, etc. There was a drastic change in the way my bathroom looked before and it now appears. Jono and his crew did a superb job. They replaced some damaged sheet rock, completely resurfaced walls and ceiling and installed a new floor, new door, vanity, toilet, shower, fixtures, etc. The tile flooring and baseboard has a beautiful, interesting design from Tile Shop. I believe it’s called Capri Gray rock. Then we used krypton paint color [a bluish gray color] which matches tile along with all white appliances and all silver chrome fixtures, glass mirror and shower door, etc. This combination was inexpensive yet looks great. When they removed the old shower, Jono and crew also discovered by accident a water leak coming from my other bathroom which they fixed [Thank God for that!!] along with a nest of mice droppings which they cleaned up for me.

They said the trim would take about two hours during the pre-visit inspection. I asked them to do the additional work for the railing & they accepted. I had to by the parts for the railing so we arranged for everything to be done at a later date, however we didn't discuss price for the extra work. When they came back to do the work, they automatically drilled holes for 7 spindles without counting what I had purchased, which was only 5. They told me at that time - after drilling - that I needed 7 to pass code. They installed the bottom rail through the side of the board - you can see the screw-head sticking out. It just wasn't a professional job; they should've buried the screw. They hung around smoking & didn't even finish the job! I was keeping an eye on them & asked how much they were going to charge me for this extra work & they said $200. I told them I didn't have that for this small of a job, only $100. When I told them this, they got right on the other work for the Big Deal - no smoking & wasting time anymore! It seemed like they were just trying to make an easy extra $200. I was really disappointed. Also, my deck railing passed code with the 5 spindles I originally purchased - I didn't need the 7 they said after all, but it still looks incomplete now because they never installed the top railing & they should've also at least pre-drilled the holes for me. The trim work for the Big Deal was really good - I was very pleased with that work but the additional work was disappointing.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal for $99 for 2 Hours of Licensed Labor for General Remodeling, Carpentry & Handyman. They originally came out to do a pre-visit inspection. They installed some trim work indoors & they trimmed down some closet doors so they would close. I hired them for an extra 2 hours to install a railing on my deck stairs.

JNJ is a sole proprietor. He was knowledgeable, congenial and professional. However, it took him many weeks to schedule a visit to my house, then many more weeks before he sent me the remodel plan. I suspect he was overbooked, and perhaps had more responses to his "Angies Special" offer than he could handle. He may be an excellent remodeler, but he was very slow in responding to me.
Description of Work: This was an "Angies Special" offer for a written bathroom remodel plan from this vendor. I received the plan, but decided to use a different vendor.

He was very nice and completed the project. Everything he did was fine!
Description of Work: I bought a Big Deal from him, he looked at our kitchen and utility room and gave us some suggestions and drew up some plans as to what we could do as far as reconfiguring those areas. He also sent us an estimate, we decided to hold off on the projetc for the time being.
Jonathan and his associate arrived at the agreed upon time, realigned a bedroom door that I had replaced, and walked around our sunporch/deck, offering suggestions and an estimate to repair/update the deck. We were not financially ready to start the project, but Jonathan offered steps we could take to get prepared for the project.
Description of Work: Using an Angie's list deal, I received help from JNJ with realigning a bedroom door that I tried to replace, and with an estimate on improving our deck. I received courteous, efficient service and I will call JNJ again when I need further assistance.

We purchased a deal to have our roof inspected and have any small repairs done through Angie's List. The process of setting up the appointment was as expected and they showed up at the appointed time. They went about their business and did caulk up one area they found which was the biggest reason I wanted them to come out. I know that they are a general contracting group, so I asked if they could work up some plans for a remodel of our mudroom. They took measurements and we discussed that day, but they never followed up with any ideas, proposals, or an estimate. The work they did do that day was as expected, but I would have expected a little more follow through on the mudroom.
Description of Work: Inspected roof and applied caulking to vents.

Excellent result. Work performed in a timely manner. The grout was chipped in a couple of places on the bathroom floor and they did a good job of using the grout they had on hand to blend the color to an almost perfect match. They also sealed and caulked around the shower door and in the corners to prevent moisture intrusion into the dry wall.

Having had a bad experience on a bath remodel in a previous house, we were nervous about finding a contractor for this project. We interviewed 5 contractors for this job (4 from Angie's List and 1 not). We advised them all in detail as to what we wanted done and told them to make sure that they didn't low-ball allowances in their bid. JNJ's bid was the most complete of them all and we felt his bid (one of the two highest) was the most realistic in terms of price. Jonothan estimated about 6 weeks to complete the project. They started in mid-August and completed it fully by mid-October. Jonothan, Curtis and the rest of the crew were polite, professional and easy to work with. They kept things as neat as possible. We asked that they do a few little extras (additional electrical boxes, replace hinges on vanity with concealed hinges, etc.,) and they had no problem doing that. PLEASE NOTE: I'm giving JNJ an overall rating of B because of #3 below (knock-down ceilings). If you left that out I would give them an A. The work went as follows: 1. Seamless gutters with leafguards went without a hitch. Did a good job and price was fair. 2. The small bath and master bath turned out well. Curtis did the tile work and he paid attention to detail. The plumber and electrician appeared to do good work and we haven't had any problems so far. The plumber noticed and corrected a plumbing error that had been made when the house was originally built. The new linen closet and walk-in glass and ceramic tile shower are great The only issue I had was dealing with a couple suppliers JNJ recommended for the countertops/sinks and plumbing fixtures, although I was free to go really anywhere I wanted. At Universal Stone, after I made my selections for the countertops/sinks, I asked them if the selections were within my allowances I had with JNJ and they wouldn't tell me, only saying they would let Jonothan know of my selections and he would discuss with me. This was absolutely stupid. We did end up paying about $200 more for my selections but they were what I wanted. When I told Jonothan about this, he was surprised but found out one of the people he worked with at Universal Stone was no longer there, so he said he would talk to them about this issue. Don't know if he did. One of the plumbing supply companies did the same thing. Even picking out the cheapest things put me way over the allowance, but they just said they'd give the plumber my selections and he'd let me know. The other plumbing supply company he recommended did give me an exact figure. However, I eventually just ordered the things I wanted on-line. Overall, I thought the price for the work in the two bathrooms was fair. 3. Repair of water damaged lower level ceilings by JNJ was good; HOWEVER, the subcontractor they used for the knock-down ceiling was the WORST. This job was apparently an extra job the sub (can't remember his name) took on after his full time job of painting, etc. I had asked that he complete the ceiling before some company I had coming was due so that I could get all the stuff out of the bedroom and back in place in the family room. "The sub" came and worked a couple hours, then told us that the job was bigger than Jonathan had told him and that he would have to come back another time with more texturing product. I told him of my deadline but he didn't seem real concerned. When he finally came back, he finished the knock-down work, which looked good, but he made a holy mess out of the downstairs. Jonathan had warned me that the knock-down would be messy but there was no excuse for "the sub" not to cover furniture and make sure the walls were adequately covered with plastic. There were swipes of the knock-down stuff on our leather couches and on the walls and, when he took the plastic off the walls, paint was pulled off in spots by the tape. "The sub" tried to tell me that was a result of poor paint prep (we had the walls professionally painted so that wasn't the cause). My impression of "the sub" was that he didn't really want to do the job and was the kind of person who blamed anything that went wrong on someone else. Jonothan said he was unhappy about the situation, too, and made sure the walls were repaired and cleaned. But we did have to pay extra (Jonothan split the cost with us) to paint the ceilings as "the sub" apparently had not told Jonothan that the knock-down had to be painted after it was applied. It took me about two weeks to finally get the whole lower level cleaned up and, of course, I couldn't use it for my company. Jonothan probably could have handled this better. Overall, the construction was good. The wrong size on the linen closet and a cracked piece of glass for the shower door did put them a little behind on the project. I would recommend them for bathroom remodels.
Description of Work: JNJ performed the following construction services: 1. Installed seamless gutters with leaf guards on a detached garage and garden shed. 2. Repaired water damage to lower level ceilings and did knock-down ceiling. 3. Updated a small bath with: installed new tile floor, new quartz countertop and undermount sink, mirrored recessed medicine cabinet, new light fixture and bath fixtures; repainted walls. 3. Updated a master bath with: installed new tile floor, new walk-in glass and tile shower in place of whirlpool, new quartz countertop with two undermount sinks, new linen closet in place of fiberglass shower surround, two mirrored recessed medicine cabinets, new light fixtures, plumbing fixtures and bathroom fixtures; repainted walls.

This company was on time on the date specified via e-mail. It was easiest to contact them via e-mail versus phone as they were usually at a job site and not handy to a calendar. They were very professional and did an excellent job of cleanup and communicating timetables. My only reservation is that they were expensive, but considering the job they did, it was worth it.

Two men arrived on time and after we agreed on color, they proceeded to replace old grout in our bathroom. The process went smoothly and 2 workers (for 2 hours) were professional and courteous. I was pleased with the work done and price. The only thing I wish I had done differently was to make sure the bathroom vanity was fully covered because of the grout dust. Their work has stood up well - there have been no problems. I would recommend this company to others. Also, after they were done, I had another company come in to clean our shower tiles and apply a penetrating sealer to protect our tile and grout because that isn?t a service they provide.
