Hired for a new bathroom install. Originally, I was quoted 27 - 30 thousand to complete the whole project. I was able to complete some of tasks myself drywall, mudding, flooring, to be exact, so I got a new quote, which after agreeing that I was completing the listed tasks was 18.5 thousand. The project started well, and things were progressing quickly, but they had "budget over runs." When I questioned what the setbacks were, I was ignored. Chris Johnson, who I believe to be the owner, stopped responding to emails. Josh Kramer, the project manager, has no answers except to contact Chris. Currently I have paid 23 thousand and I have a quote to complete the project for another 4 thousand. I did ask for additional services to be provided IE installing a water heater, that I had purchased, as well as fixing 2 sinks that started leaking. I acknowledged that these services were provided outside of the quote but at a final cost not including the purchases that I made of $27,000 they are well outside of budget. After addressing this in my last email to the owner he stopped responding and refuses to elaborate on where the additional over runs in budget were. The project manager will no longer respond to my text messages and refuses to provide a list of what's left to complete the project. I am a new homeowner and they have effectively taken advantage of me. I am left with little to no recourse as I put most of my funds into this project believing that they would help me. For what it's worth, I'm sure the work that they did was sufficient quality, but please be wary if you ever have to question where budget over runs happen, as they may stop responding to you and you too may be left with an unfinished project and minimal idea of what all is left to be done.

I'm a (unfortunately) tenant of his since May 2018. You can tell he tried to flip an old house and slap a new coat of paint to make it pretty. In the bathroom, the paint is peeling off. He used a spray paint of sorts. In the kitchen the cabinetry looks nice, but has a design fault that doesn't allow for proper fridge ventilation. The outside paint job is poor, looks worse than before because the paint strokes go over some of the window sills as if a child that can't color within the lines. Unfortunate that he runs this company because the people he hires are generally nice...

It didn't. Chris wasn't forward with his schedule and while I thought things were progressing (ordering the doors) they were not. Lost me a lot of time. I was delusional thinking I had found a vendor who could complete the small job and that was not the case.

They are absolutely fantastic. It's a huge project. I would recommend them hands down. The quote was right on the money. Their quote was good and it was really close, and I added quite a bit. The other people would need to price around stuff because there are so many variables. They did a great job. I thought they were knowledgeable and nice. They were pleasant to meet and these are all good things. They are just good communicators and the work itself is phenomenal.

Chris was here within 3o minutes of my first call, understood the problem, gave me a very reasonable quote, He pulled a very nice crew of three off another job to repair the roof before the storms predicted tonight. He purchased and delivered all supplies the night before, without requiring a deposit. The crew arrived as expected early this morning, and finished the job in 8 hours. The crew was very nice, explained other problems and solutions to them, and made sure the debris was cleared from all shrubbery, and lawn. I am very impressed with everyone.

Very responsive by phone and email, worked with us on doing our own waste disposal. The carpenter showed up promptly and was very professional and polite. The door required a fair amount of custom work to level the opening and build up around the frame. It was all completed on time and within the original estimated cost. The owner even stopped by during the day to make sure the work was proceeding well and to see how he could help his carpenter.

ditional storage. Now, our old bed is very comfortable to sleep on. They also did creative carpentry as part of our kitchen remodel, creating a special drawer for recycling bags under a new extension of our counter top. It is beautiful, functional and creative.
Description of Work: JCJ Construction has done many jobs for us. As to Countertops, they cut and installed new counters in our kitchen in accordance with a kitchen remodel. We chose Mother of Pearl quartzite -- which is beautiful, but difficult to work with (tends to crumble/split on the edges.) They explained all the pros and cons in advance, and did a lovely job completing the countertops with the edges we desired. The countertops are beautiful! As to carpentry, we recently asked them to reconstruct our bed, which was a beautiful four-poster that we wanted to keep, but which had started to sag in the middle, They are very creative, and constructed a solid base within the four poster frame, and also suggested some cost-effective drawers to slide into the frame under the bed to create ad

The experience was absolutely horrible. They did a roof for us about six years ago and we have had problems with the gutters ever since. Chris Johnson came back repeatedly and we were pointing things out but he never fixed the problems. The gutters were not put back on correctly and we continued to have drainage issues. We have had issues with rain coming in and water coming in through the gutter. He put in some drop buckets underneath the gutters and he didn't put it back correctly, so we have water pouring out of the back of the drop buckets into the foundation. He never took any kind of responsibility for any of the work. He did a crappy job on the grading. He put gravel in the area and it just didn't help anything at all and I had to have all of that work done by another company. The price fluctuated a lot and I am not sure that I got a good deal at the time. We had to get a lot of the work redone but are yet to have the gutter done. He came a few times, but then, I think he just threw up his hands and stopped calling back.

We were hired to replace the roof which we did, we did not and were not hired to replace the gutters, We went back and added flashing to correct a gutter problem that we were never hired to replace in the 1st place. This Job was 6 years ago I did not know and was never told we had a problem with grading. In all fairness with out proper communication I do not know what else I could have done. The roof work was permitted and inspected by the city and meet all code requirements. I am sorry you felt we let you down . But here we are 6 years later.

We had Chris come out a couple of times this fall. For general maintenance issues with our roof. The first instance included some shingles that had come off of our roof and we needed them replaced. Other companies didn't seem to interested in replacing 4-5 shingles. It wasn't a big enough job for them to do so in a relatively timely manner. Chris on the other hand said , and quot;Sure, I'm in the neighborhood, let me swing by this afternoon and take a look.and quot; He came by within a few hours, gave us an estimate and had someone out the next day to replace the shingles and another couple of minor repairs on the roof. Wonderful customer service and reasonable fee for the job (around $200) About 3 weeks later, while having our furnace tune up done, the company we hired to do the tune up found a large and quot;bird graveyardand quot; in our chimney. After 3 visits with them, their conclusion was that we needed a new furnace with some major remodeling in order to redo the furnace vent to the chimney and clean out the graveyard. With estimates of $5,000 rolling around, we thought....what about Chris? A quick call to Chris had him here within 2 hours (if not sooner). He got back up on the roof, checked our our upstairs furnace, made some measurements and said. No need for a new furnace! I've got an idea of how to fix this. Let me talk with my HVAC guy and I'll call you back this afternoon.Chris called us back that evening, he told us his guys could be there tomorrow, they would pull out the drywall over the furnace, Clean out the vent and remove the bird graveyard, repair the drywall, replace our chimney cap (no more birds falling in the chimney) and clean up. Voila!Next day his crew was here as promised. EXACT time as promised, finished and cleaned up before we got home. Cost $600.00. No more dead birds, no new furnace, we have heat, all equals very satisfied customers!
Description of Work: 2 experiences 1. Shingles on roof replaced and repaired, as well as some other minor roofing repairs 2. Furnace venting from 2nd story wall furnace cleaned out (bird graveyard) and new chimney cap installed. Process included removing drywall to access chimney.

I have never before dealt with a contractor I felt I could really trust. Chris is punctual, cleans up after himself, professional, pleasant, smart, knowledgeable about new products, always follows through, all employees work hard, gets done when he says he will get done. I highly recommend him!!!!! He only has worked time and material for us (maybe for everyone?), and we have had actual costs be both more and less than originally estimated - but I have never felt the price was unfair. He has just always worked on 100 year old homes (3 actually) and they often have buried problems. He also does smart, thoughtful little things - like wash the windows when putting up new storm windows.
Description of Work: Most recent job was replacing 3 exterior storm doors - one of which is very large and was a special order (which increased the price a lot). In the past Chris has done a lot of remodeling work for us - storm windows and doors, basement remodel, ceramic tile in bathrooms, multiple repairs and punch list in finishing a house we were preparing to sell/rent.

These contractors were a dream-come-true. After consulting several other contractors and having the price jacked up every time we had a new meeting, and having other tell us they couldn't start for five months and couldn't get the materials needed, we were desperate to get something going. These guys came in with a very reasonable price and asked how soon they could get in and get started. They have a great can-do attitude and even when problems were found behind the walls, etc., they figured out how to fix them and got them done quickly. They were done before the other, more expensive contractor whom we contacted months earlier would have gotten started.
Description of Work: Remodeling a master bath. They had to tear out a shower, floor, tile on walls and floors, sink, countertop; replace/fix several plumbing issues; install new shower, countertop, sink, tile; correct/build for framing problems; paint and fix drywall; check/repair skylights; fix and drywall new A/C/heat ductwork; all while retaining existing whirlpool bath and cabinetry.
