Houle Insulation Inc is very good, very personable, very professional, very organized, he gave me all the information that I needed, they explained everything that they were going to do, finished the work and he came the next day to inspect the work. I called him for a question and he came over and explained it to me and he climbed on the roof and I was very pleased with the whole thing.

The owner and crew seemed to know their business, were conscientious and paid attention to details. The process went as planned with no delays or surprises.

The salesman seemed very knowledgable and took time to answer my questions. The work was performed by a crew of three, and they were efficient and kept my house clean during the process. The area where I've had problems with previous ice dams didn't have any issues after the insulation was added up to code.

I liked working with Todd and Houle insulation from start to finish. The crew was very professional and efficient. The smell that comes with spray foam insulation was minimized nicely. And the general clean-up was good. I plan to see some significant savings in our energy bills right away.

They were prompt in their service. Completing the work ahead of schedule. The work was better than I expected, and my home was substantially warmer that day. It is amazing the difference they were able to make in this old home. Previously on cold days our furnace would run almost all day, and certain areas of the house were never warm. Now it is the opposite, furnace runs much less, and the warmth in the house is evenly distributed. No drafty areas.

Arrived on time and was friendly and helped explain everything. I would have gone with them but they were a bit high on the bid.

Houle Insulation Inc couldn't do the whole job. I needed somebody that could do the insulation, sheath rock, taping and painting; they were only going to do the insulation.

Working with Houle Insulation has been excellent from bid to job. The contacts at the company were polite and professional and they were responsive to my questions and any messages I left. The estimator came out at the appointed time, explained some things about why and how they do what they do, made some recommendations and gave what I considered to be a fair bid. On the day the work was done, the workers showed up on time and ready to go bright and early at 7:30 AM. They were friendly and focused the entire time. If an issue came up, they were quick to consult with me and to work to find solutions (for example, there was an old kitchen window that had been sided over - they let me know that something was odd about how the insulation was blowing in on this section, and then they let me know what the cause was and how they fixed it). I was impressed with the commitment and skill the employees showed. When the work was done, they vacuumed up and were out the door in no time, if my house wasn't showing a significant improvement on the blower door test you would think nobody had been there at all that day. Our little 1968 ranch house went from ~1640 cfm to ~840 cfm as a result of the work done. The crew checked my furnace, water heater and fresh-air intake to make sure I wouldn't have any backdraft issues and let me know what to watch for just in case since the house is now so tight.

value from Arne Olson, the owner of Houle Insulation, examined the attic, walls, and all rooms to develop an estimate for improving the insulation of our house. He presented us with an estimate on the spot. We were impressed with his work and accepted his contract. The work crew arrived on time and proceeded to seal all openings from heated space into the attic. This included leaks around electrical boxes, vent pipes, and internal wall partitions. The then added blown-in cellulose insulation to to raise R value from 13 to 39. They completed the job just when they expected. A couple of weeks later, I emailed Arne a photo of the roof with snow cover. There were two bare spots. He returned to the house and performed a blower door test to check that all leaks were sealed - they were. He suggested that the outside soffits be checked when the weather warms up.

Excellent job. The company and its workers are extremely knowledgable about the idiosyncrasies of older homes. Mine is 105 years old. The workers were very efficient but careful about every detail, and the job was finished in two days, including clean-up. The blower-door test rating went from 2441 (cfm50) before the job to 1790 afterward, and the difference is noticeable.

The team, just like the owner, was extremely professional, courteous, and clean. They arrived early in the morning, worked efficiently to remove all of the old attic insulation, the completed all of the repairs & improvements in the attic prior to reinstalling the new attic insulation. They completed their work (including clean-up) by 3PM. Very impressive. The cost may be to some a bit on the upper end, however, we received what we paid for - a quality job completed. I would reaedily recommend Houle Insulation to anyone needing their attic insulation replaced.

From the estimate until completion of the job everything was done in a very competent manner. Clean up was exceptional. They were on time for all appointments.

We got a quick response on request for an estimate, a thorough examination to determine the bid, and a timely bid. We had one other estimate submitted and Houle was the low bid. The work was scheduled in a timely manner and the work was all done in a day. The whole process went extremely well and we have no complaints or suggestions as to how things might have been done better. The whole process was easy and quick and very professional.

It went very well, showed up on time. Worked very hard entire time. Quick clean up when insulation removed and care taken during install. Put down tarps in the house for the workers to walk on when getting to attic access. Vaccuumed steps and floor area upon completion. Excellent work.

They did the estimate, came and wrote out the information and that was the extinct of what happened.

Excellent, from start to finish. Bid was provided quickly and was spot-on for the final amount charged. Crew was very considerate and cleaned up beautifully. They came back immediately to patch a hole that was made accidentally during the work. Work seems to have been done beautifully -- upstairs is far cozier now! Looking forward to the cost savings, too. Highly recommended.

Houle showed up on the job site with a crew and went to work. After they were done it was like they were never here. Great job and I am looking forward to being more comfortable with lower utility costs.

They were fast and proficient. They did the job well. They were professional. They came on time exactly when they said. They did the job and worked hard. Their price was reasonable.

The owner, Arne, came out initially to give me a bid along with 5 other contractors. He immediately stood out from all the other contractors as very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and professional. When I brought up some questions about other things that other contractors said needed to be done he explained in layman's terms as to why it was completely unnecessary. He saved me a lot of money! When I decided to hire him he and his team came in and did an amazing job. They were here on time and swarmed over my home like a team of really big ants with a mission, everyone knowing what needed to be done and just getting to it in the most organized chaos I've ever witnessed. They finished the job within the timframe Arne promised (1 day!) and cleaned up well when they left. Arne had to come back a number of times with inspectors since this was a job done through a program with the city and xcel energy. He was always so cheerful, professional and funny despite the fact that he probably had a lot on his plate and much to do. The inspectors were always as impressed with Arne's work as I was and noted that he never takes short cuts and always does very high quality work. Houle Insulation ROCKS!! I will recommend them to anyone and will most definitely hire them again if the need arises!

Excellent service from the estimate right down to the end. They got right back to me when I contacted them, promptly gave me an estimate, showed up precisely on time and were done by 1:00. All employees were polite and cleaned up after themselves.

The experience was excellent -- from the estimate through the actual work. They also completed the necessary paperwork for me to claim a rebate from CenterPoint. Their bid was in the middle of those I solicited -- neither highest nor lowest. I felt their bid was the most detailed and thorough. The crew that did the work was tremendous. Professional, hard working, detail oriented. They were careful to protect the house, and cleaned up well when done. They took the time to show and explain everything they had done. Because they're good, they're also busy, so it might take a bit of time to get onto their schedule. They're worth it. Highly recommended!

They did a good job and it only took 1 day. They left the plugs that they put in plush against the wall.

I attempted to contact three insulation companies, all of which have A ratings on Angie's List, and only Houle Insulation called me back to schedule an appointment to have an estimate done to get our attic and upper floor insulated. About a week later, Todd came out to look at the space, telling us that our situation was typical of older homes and that if we insulated and air sealed, we would immediately feel a difference and save money on our energy bills too. We were not surprised by this information at all. He gave us an estimate for insulating to R-50 (we were at about R-7 at the time) with a combination of fiberglass and cellulose, adding roof vents, and sealing off any bypasses, which came to $3350. He then recommended that we look into the Center Point Energy rebates for attic insulation and sealing, as we could get $350 back. I looked into it and later called Houle to find out if they could preform the energy audit required for the rebate. Arnie (who always called me back personally) told me that they could not, but directed me to the Center for Energy and Environment, letting me know what I would need to do through them to get the audit done correctly. Arnie said that our quote would remain valid, as well as our Angie's list coupon (which technically expired on 7/31/12), even if we had to wait until after July to do the work. We had the audit done and found out that we could not get the insulation done until we had all the knob and tube wiring in our attic and upper floor replace since it is unsafe to put insulation over such old wiring. I contacted Arnie again and told him that the audit was done but that we had a wiring issue that needed to be dealt with first. I tentatively made an appointment for 8/8/12 but Arnie told me to let them know if the wiring work would require that that date be changed. Fortunately, we were able to keep our appointment. A team of four guys came out to do the work and they were quick, friendly and professional. Arnie even stopped by to check on things. They patched up the holes they had to put in my slanted ceiling, closed off my attic space, and cleaned everything up. They ended with a blower door test. A few days later, I called to find out what my balance turned out to be ($3350 exactly minus the 5% off Angie's List coupon- so, $3182) and to ask Arnie about forms he needed to fill out for my Center Point energy rebate. He said that he would fill out his part of the form and mail it to me, so I didn't have to deal with finding the right forms. Overall, they were wonderfully helpful and they will be my first call when we decide to insulate our walls.
