Description of Work: I chose a carpet from the display for a home office. The sales staff was unable to locate a sample to take home and suggested it was checked out, and I could come back in a few days to see if it was returned. When I objected to this lack of salesmanship, they cut a piece from the display. I took the sample home and then returned ready to place an order. Another sales person was unable to locate the carpet style and color I chose in their "book." They were unable to explain why, and unable to contact the manufacturer because it was a weekend. I finally went across the street to another company, where the sales staff was very knowledgeable and helpful, and prices were competitive. I ended up ordering two rooms of carpeting from another company.

THE INSTALLER IS EXCELLENT! HIS NAME IS JOHN GOTZ. HIS WORK IS PROFESSIONAL, DETAILED AND COURTEOUS. JOHN NOT ONLY DID EXCELLENT WORK, BUT ALSO LET US PICK THE DOOR TRIMS. THE ENTIRE COST IS LOWER THAN MANUFACTURER'S OWN BIDS BY HUNDREDS.

IF YOU ARE USING A REFERRAL FOR A PLACE THAT USES SUBCONTRACTORS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET THE SAME PERSON TO DO THE WORK THAT THE REFERRAL WAS BASED ON! WE LEARNED OUR LESSON!
Description of Work: I NOTICED A GOOD RATING FOR HOME DEPOT'S TILE INSTALLATION SERVICE, AND I WANTED TO POINT OUT THAT IT IS IMPORTANT TO REALIZE THAT THE QUALITY OF THE WORK DEPENDS ON THE QUALITY OF THE SUBCONTRACTOR THAT THEY SEND OUT TO YOUR HOUSE. WHEN WE HIRED A TILE PERSON THROUGH HOME DEPOT, WE HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE. THE GUY DID A BAD JOB LAYING OUT THE TILE, GOT GROUT ON OUR INTERIOR STAIR HANDRAIL, DUMPED HIS DEBRIS DIRECTLY INTO OUR TUB (WHICH IS NOW PERMANENTLY DIRTY-LOOKING), AND DID NOT CLEAN UP AFTER HIMSELF. FINALLY, WHEN THE SNOW MELTED, WE DISCOVERED THAT HE HAD DUMPED HIS LEFTOVER GROUT IN OUR LAWN. WHEN WE CALLED HOME DEPOT TO COMPLAIN, THEY SAID THAT THE SUBCONTRACTOR'S BOSS WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR HANDLING COMPLAINTS AND REFERRED US TO HIM. HE DID NOT BELIEVE THAT WE HAD PROBLEMS, AND SUGGESTED THAT OUR EXPECTATIONS WERE TOO HIGH. HE MADE IT CLEAR TO US THAT HE HAD NO INTENTIONS OF DEALING WITH US AT ALL.

INSTALLERS WERE LESS PROFESSIONAL AND CLEAN THAN MANAGERS THAT WORKED TO RESOLVE OUR ISSUE. BETTER COMMUNICATION WOULD HAVE PREVENTED BUMPING THE PIPE AND CAUSING THE LEAK.
Description of Work: CARPET AND PAD INSTALLED OVER CONCRETE IN BASEMENT. VERY THOROUGH DOCUMENTS DESCRIBING INSTALLATION PLAN, GREAT FINANCING, SUB CONTRACTORS MAY HAVE OVERESTIMATED TIME TO COMPLETE INSTALLATION. THEY LEFT A SMALL MESS AND BUMPED A PIPE WHICH CAUSED A LEAK. HOME DEPOT MANAGERS AND SUBCONTRACTOR MANAGER VERY RESPONSIVE TO RESOLVE LEAK WITHIN 2 HOURS AT 7:30 PM.

VERY PLEASANT TO DEAL WITH. SOMETIMES IT WAS HARD TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THE CONTACT PERSON. I WAS CHARGED A FEE TO COME OUT AN MEASURE THE SIZE OF THE ROOMS. THE PRICE WAS VERY COMPETITIVE. THE CARPET LOOKS BEAUTIFUL. INSTALLERS WERE PLEASANT BUT NOT PROFESSIONAL IN APPEARANCE. BE PREPARED TO BE HOME WHEN THE INSTALLERS ARE IN YOUR HOUSE. WE REMOVED THE OLD CARPET OURSELVES.

I THINK THAT FOR THAT SIZE OF A JOB IT WAS EASIER TO GO THROUGH HOME DEPOT. THEY HELPED ME WITH EVERYTHING, AND IT WAS A REAL ONE STOP SHOPPING EXPERIENCE.
Description of Work: REMOVED COUNTERTOP AND INSTALLED NEW COUNTERTOP. CUT THE HOLE FOR THE NEW SINK AND DROPPED THE SINK IN. THEY SUB-CONTRACT THE WORK OUT. HOME DEPOT HELPED ME THROUGH THE PROCESS, AND I PRE-PAID FOR IT AND THE BID WAS CONFIRMED WITHIN TWO WEEKS AND THE JOB WAS COMPLETED WITHIN 7 WEEKS, BUT CHRISTMAS WAS IN THERE. IT WAS A REAL EASY PROCESS THANKS TO HOME DEPOT.
