Description of Work: The company resurfaced the house foundation. The work seems to be fine. Their cleanup was not as I expected. They were in a hurry to leave and didn't clean up or put things back completely.

Description of Work: The contractor's crew came on time and worked rapidly to complete the repair of my chimney. They ground and tuckpointed the bricks, replaced two courses of brick and capped the top of the chimney with rebar and concrete. They put all the vents back in place. The chimney looks good with a close match on the brick. The workers cleaned up everything and took care not to spill concrete in the yard while they mixed it. The leader of the work crew was polite and answered all my questions. I had asked that a concrete block be repaired near the foundation, but that was overlooked. When I called the contractor, they sent someone out right away to repair it. The one thing that seemed worrisome to me is that the workers did not wear any kind of masks or respirators while grinding the concrete between the cracked rows of bricks. There was a lot of dust created during this process and so it seemed like a health hazard to me. Maybe it is the worker's choice to not wear protection.

Description of Work: They reconstructed damaged brick facing next to garage door. They also realigned garage door. They took care to do a good match for our old brick. |They worked hard and were efficient craftsmen!

Description of Work: Rebuilt a block wall

Description of Work: they dismantled the south wall of our chimney in order to reline it and then they replaced all the bricks that were removed and had a difficult time matching the new ones to the old ones. The initial start date got move back by 10 days, the job was started then stopped for a few days we were not informed of this ahead of time. We had to call them to find out were the workers were, they were reassign to a previous job that needed to be completed. The work them proceeded for a few days and once again stopped without notification, again we called only to find out they were on another job. We then heard they were having a difficult time matching up the colors of the bricks and had to send for some that were in Ohio and would be here shortly - 5 days later they arrived and the match was not as good as we would have liked but the job needed to be completed as we were now almost halfway through November. All along this tattered tale, we kept emphasizing that all we required was good communication. The communication did not improve until the day the job was done and the owner came over to the house at 7:00Pm to collect the money. We informed him that we would give him half now and the remainder after we had a fire in the fireplace and could see that all was working as it should, he was not happy but agreed to it. Now before we started the work, we asked when we would be able to have a fire in the fire place after the work was complete, we were told to let the work cure for two weeks before having a fire in the fireplace. The night it was done and the owner had collected half of the money, he said we could go ahead and have a fire in one week. We told him that we would wait the recommended two weeks and if all went well, we would mail him the rest of the money. Two weeks to the day we received a call from the office as to whether or not the check had gone out in the mail yet. The communication around the money was quick and efficient, oh that they would have done as well with there work communications.

Description of Work: They inspected cracks in my fireplace and chimney. They said they were normal due to the house shifting over the years and that they likely won't get any worse. | |They added mortar inside the firebox and chimney to block airflow and to stabilize cracks.
