HIRSHFIELD'S

I have been to Hirshfield's in Edina four times. Each time I have had a different customer service person helping me and each time, the service has been great. They answer ever question I have, helped me determine colors, paint type, etc. They are a pleasure to work with.

I have used Hirshfields for several projects over the past few years. I was concerned when they bought out Lathrop, as that was a favorite of mine, but they have done a nice job of keeping the customer service expertise of the Lathrop stores. They are helpful and knowledgeable about all kinds of painting needs, and they carry Benjamin Moore paints which are, in a word, fantastic. I would recommend them to folks looking to do their own painting but who need some advice.

While the in home consultation was convenient, I was a little disappointed with the service. The store had me give them the color of the walls of the room (a color that Hirshfield's carried) and color of the furniture (in stock at local furniture store) beforehand so the consultant could come up with some ideas. However, when the consultant arrived, she simply had the big swatch books that are carried at the store and nothing was picked out so it took forever to look through the books again (since I had already looked at them at the store and felt overwhelmed). Maybe this was just this particular consultant or maybe this is what you get/should expect for a free service. In the end, I found similar window treatments online at about half the price (even though Hirshfield's prices weren't too bad) so I won't be going with Hirshfield's.
