Description of Work: Furnace and water heater inspection. We have had these inspections before but 1/2 hour, in and out and done. Ian Werner, the Uptown tech, was here for a good two hours and noted that this service would ordinarily be $210 but they were using the $39 price via Angie's to introduce Uptown to new customers. Mr. Werner was terrifically professional, competent and personable. He answered a number of questions for me and at the end, he said that Uptown likes to give the customer 15 minutes of time at the end to do anything needing doing in the house. He thereupon changed two lightbulbs for me! Customer service? WOW!

Description of Work: Very knowledgable and friendly HVAC serviceman that taught my husband and I all about our furnace and water heater (we are first time home owners going into our first winter in our home). He tagged everything for us (i.e. shut off valves, etc) and told us what to do should we run into problems. I bought a $99 for $69 coupon for furnace and heater tune up, so we were happy with that price. I rated price a B due to the fact that he installed a new thermostat and was surprised at the price ($289) to put only one in (we only have heating, no AC) and had I known it was going to be so expensive, we would've just bought one ourselves and put it in. Oh well; we needed it as it was starting to get chilly out and we know it was installed correctly. |Happy with uptown plumbing, heating, and cooling and we will continue to use them in the future!

Description of Work: Replaced the "ignition" for the furnace. I have no idea if it needed replacing but trust they were being truthful. I also don't know if price was competitive. but the technician showed up on time, always took shoes off when entered home, explained everything he did and gave me options.

From the folks on the phone arranging the appointment to the service person doing the work...they are a wonderful company to deal with. Description of Work: My furnace and hot water heater were cleaned and inspected. As it turned out I needed to replace the sensor on the furnace at an additional cost of $239.00. I was quite happy with the service that was performed and Kyle was super nice.

Description of Work: Uptown Plumbing performed a fall furnace and water heater maintenance service. They arrived as scheduled and thoroughly checked both units.

Description of Work: Although they arrived a little late, they warned me ahead of time, and their representative was friendly, professional, and prompt. He inspected the furnace and drained the sediment from the water heater. He explained to me the condition of my furnace, told me he could not sell me on anything as its condition was great. An HVAC contractor friend of mine had recently installed a humidifier, and the Uptown representative noted that it was quality work. For this level of service at this price, I would definitely call Uptown again, and will consider them when I eventually replace the furnace.

Uptown Plumbing and HVAC left a pleasant reminder message about the appointment. |Nathan was very helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. He got stuck in rush hour traffic on late Friday afternoon but Uptown kept us posted. Nathan did an excellent job with his specialty in HVAC. He shared tips with us too. We even signed up for their annual maintenance contract for only $10/month which we generally not do but it made sense to do it. We will be having one of their plumbers look at our 10-yr old hot water heater to more fully evaluate its health as Nathan determined that it is leaking and may need repairing or replacing in the future. |We look forward to a long-term relationship with Uptown.

Description of Work: The young man that came out was very professional and was also very knowledgeable about furnaces and boilers. He asked me if the furnace turned on and off before the set temperature was reached which was exactly what had been going on for 2 years. He had found the problem and fixed it. He left to get the part and kept in touch with me the entire time. He delivered wonderful service and I did sign up for ongoing maintenance for $10/mo. I do not carry the monthly service through the gas company because of the overall excellent quality of service I get through Angie's list. I am very happy with this particular service provider.
