I purchased a special through Angie's List that got covered the service charge of the provider. All the work they did after that was $240 an hour, which was way too high.

Very timely. Extremely professional most reasonable price quote for this project. crew kept us informed of progress. clean up even included one crew member mopping our kitchen floor on hands & knees. Very happy with this experience !

Great experience from start to finish. Josh met with us after work hours to provide an estimate. He took the time to understand what we needed/wanted before suggesting a product. He was very friendly and considerate (no shoes in the house!) and brought many before/after photos of previous installs -- helped give us new homeowners a sense of the potential. On install day, the crew was early and wasted no time getting to work. We felt comfortable enough with the crew that we left for the day and they locked up when they left (which was earlier than expected)! They left everything clean and in good order. They even left a hand-written "thank you" note -- who does that!? Very impressive. We did have a very small leak at a solder point after the install. They were back out to correct it in short order. Other than that small detail everything was and is great. They mounted the new boiler/water heater against the wall, which allowed us to open up the middle of the basement and gives us more opportunity for finishing it off. They offer a great warranty and service plan. Great company and if we decide to do A/C, we'll hire them again.

They have been wonderful. They had quoted us a weekend rate since it was the weekend, but they ended up only charging us the weekday rate. They have been prompt and thorough. They are very experienced with old houses. They take their shoes off before they enter our home. They installed the boiler in our home originally. They have been wonderful. It is a family owned business.

Highly professional from start to finish. Nothing to report. I did have to call them to remind them that they hadn't set up an electrician appointment yet but the electrician then came the next day, which was excellent.

Everything went well. There were some plumbing issues since the house is 94 years old, but the workers handled them well. Ultimately, the boiler is installed and running perfectly.

the relief valve on the boiler blew and was a rather scary situation I had never experienced. I quickly called Uptown as I had recently had them here for a safety inspection of the boiler. I was so shaken by the results of the of the valve blowing I could barely speak sensibly to the receptionist. She was very patient with me. Soonest appt. I could get was the following evening but 2 hours later they were at my door. Kurt fixed the situation and was very patient answering all my questions. He even fixed a metal strap that was supporting a vent pipe in the mechanical room that had nothing to do with why he was there. Not only is the service great but it was nice having the same technician again....and the office staff is really nice.

I wish every contractor was like Josh.

They had to cut through the wall to install it originally. It is remote controlled and we call them to come service it. The machine got clogged so they came out to flush the condensation line. They came back a second time at no charge to reflush it. They came right out right away when I called and were in and out as soon as possible.

We had used Ridler for a traditional plumbing installation a couple of years ago and were pleased. However, we had very frustrating experience this last time. After an initial consultation on a solar water heater, we decided to go with the system that Josh was recommending. We called Ridler a couple of times a week for about six weeks to confirm that we wanted to go ahead with the installation. There was never a response from Josh, though we left messages with his office staff and called his cell phone. In mid-December, we gave up, but by that time it was too late to work with another company in time to get the solar rebates. A completely frustrating, and ultimately costly, experience all around. Based on their complete lack of response, I would not use them again.

Our older furnace was inspected and shut-down with safety concerns. Josh came over the next day for a quote. I was impressed with the presentation and detailed information provided. Having no heat at the start of winter was a problem and they found a way to install the next day. Josh and his father showed-up at the start of the project - my husband and I were impressed with the individual service. They were prompt, courteous, and they cleaned-up after themselves. We are very careful and picky people - quite frankly we are tough to please. We had a terrific experience. They were trustworthy, and I felt their quotes were competitive.

They were great to work with. Josh came over and helped us determine the best boiler for us and where to install it. They built a wall in our basement for the installation which was a great solution for us. They were very dependable and the workers were very helpful and respectful. and seemed very knowledgeable. We need a few adjustments after the installation and they came right out and made the adjustments very quickly. So far the boiler and hot water heater work great.

We hired Ridler to install a new high-efficiency boiler in our home. (They referred us to another contractor for removal of the old boiler.) Ridler company did a very good job. I would recommend this company if you are interested in a high-efficiency residential boiler. Josh did a good job of explaining the options and the work plan. Now that we are almost through the winter, I can confirm that the boiler works very well. The boiler itself is somewhat expensive (hence the 'B' grade for price) but there are real savings on the gas bill, so after some time it pays off.

I called 4 times asking for an estimate and to talk with the sales person about next steps. I never received one phone call in return. I even talked directly to the administrator and she said he would call me. Again nothing happened! I finally gave up. It was the dead of winter and I still could not get a call back on a Geothermal heating project we wanted to start in the Spring. I hired a different contractor.

It was done in one day and it looked fine to me, but the installation did not pass inspection at first. This was in my Mom's older home and it was important it be right. The inspector said the piping leading away from the boiler was too close to the low ceiling beam and the return valve was not positioned correctly. Josh and I and the inspector went back and forth via phone calls and visits until it was revised to the inspector's satisfaction which occurred in July. However it was a real hassle for me. The end result is fine and the boiler has been working very well, but there are 3 things I pointed out to Josh: (1) he needs better, more informed/knowledgeable office staff who can really talk the client through the process and remember each client from one call to the next, and (2) he needs to do better post-install follow-up including being there for the customer on any issue they have or even if they just want a tutorial on the boiler, and (3) he probably needs more trained staff in general--I got the feeling that he is a little too stretched. I hope these things have been reconciled by now as he seems like he is interested in providing a good experience.

I have confidence in their work, but Josh could work on his communication. I felt he was a real young whippersnapper kind of guy who gave me a lot of simplistic, pat answers and no real information on how to run my new system. I've never had a boiler or radiators before, so I would have appreciated more of an explanation on how to troubleshoot, etc.

They were wonderful. Pete Savage the owner and his company did a great job. You cannot call them for small plumbing work as they do not do that.

I was delighted with every aspect of their service. The office staff was friendly, efficient, and informative. When the service man arrived he was courteous and considerate, offering to remove his shoes and doing the work with a minimum of mess and tidying up completely afterward. I was fully prepared to be told that my 60+ year old conversion furnace needed to be replaced. Instead Paul told me that "we do a lot of work with these," He replaced a part in the ignition and devised a creative and effective solution for the vent pipe. When the time does come to replace my old furnace dinosaur, I know which company to choose!

Well. The sales presentation was excellent with the sales person using an i-pad to illustrate both the equipment and prior installations. The offer was very professional and Ridler followed up on the few questions that we had. The date for installation was mutually agreed to and they arrived as scheduled and completed the work very quickly and efficiently and were out of here. It is a lot of money to spend in one day but we have been impressed with the experience overall.

Repair seemed to go well. 2 years later scheduled a vist to check the furnace. No one called to say the tech would be late. After 45 minutes I called the office and visit was rescheduled until later in the day. Asked some questions of the tech about winterizing my home. Called recently to ask questions before going on a trip. Man answering the phone was helpful but he was trying to communicate my question to a plumber and then the answer back to me. I requested to speak to someone directly to be sure I understood. Was told I'd get a call. This did not happen.

Josh and his crew were professional and clearly had experience putting in high-velocity air and geothermal systems in older houses. Our house is a 1926 four-square home in Saint Paul with nice woodwork and wood floors. The installation blends well into every room, is quiet, and effective. We love it! They were able to fit the heat pump, flow center, extra hot water tank, and all plumbing into our small utility room in the basement. Josh went above and beyond, helping us secure a state grant and provided all necessary paperwork for XCel and Federal tax incentives. The finished system cools our house in the summer, makes up 80% of our heating in the winter (natural gas furnace makes up the remainder), and preheats hot water to reduce the hot-water-heater's work. All while decreasing our carbon footprint and monthly and yearly energy spend.

Josh Savage at Ridler was prompt in returning our calls and explaining the pros and cons of various boiler and A/C options. We were replacing a 40+ year old boiler and two window A/C units. The other companies that gave us quotes were very slow to get us the bids and slow to return phone calls with questions. Once we accepted the bid, Ridler was able to schedule the work within two weeks. The crew completed the work in one day and they were very professional. The boiler room was neat and tidy when they were done. We were not yet home from work when they finished. Josh came back a couple days later to give us a walk-through. We tested all the systems while he was there, and he found and fixed a wiring problem with one of the three A/C units. Nice to have it fixed before we even knew we had a problem!

Ridler created a well thought out estimate and then did an excellent job executed the work. They were organized, punctual, respectful, kind, and even funny. Our new furnace and new water heater were installed exactly as they described and they even did a quick follow up to one of our questions, responding within hours or our call. I would recommend Ridler to anyone for any work they offer!

Josh was very professional and gave a thorough review of the situation. He gave us tips on how to save money by buying a used radiator. He also assessed our boiler and found a potential problem and suggested we contact the company who inspected it to reevaluate its condition. I was impressed that he didn't try to push his company. I got the impression that the work speaks for itself.
