This is the 3rd time we have used Uptown Heating and Plumbing and Dan has done the work each time. First I would say Dan represents the company with honesty and integrity. He lays out all our options and comes up with solutions which keeps the cost down if at all possible. I appreciate that in a company and person. He performed this job with excellence. I will continue to use Uptown Heating and Plumbing and recommend them. I give them an A plus.

Nothing really...did not do anything close to a whole house plumbing inspection as promised and I had specifically asked them to check on a toilet that was running and causing us to waste water and all he told me was that I needed and new toilet and wanted to sell me a new toilet for $600 - $1000 (which was a terrible price if I was gonna buy a new toilet).

They fixed both faucets with new washers. They work fine now.

Very nice plumber, prompt & on time. The plumber tightened the spicket to stop the leak. Asked if our 2 water heaters had ever been cleaned & inspected since they were installed (about 10 years ago). Suggested that we needed the "basic water delivery comp repair", which we did. It seems a little expensive based on the time it took.

I have used Uptown before and was very pleased, which made this experience even more disappointing. I had multiple phone calls during business hours unanswered, and two on-lilne service requests were not responded to. I finally got through to someone and they could only schedule six days out. I scheduled the time and they apologized for not responding. They also assured me that my job would be first on the list, and the repairman would be there at 8:00 a.m. At 8:45 there was no repairman and no phone call. I had to call the office and I was told that I was not the first job scheduled and they would not estimate when the repairman would arrive. I told them not to come. People make mistakes, but the people in the office were not at all forthright with me and did not respect my time or apparently want my business. Big disappoinment from a company I had held in high regard.

Called Uptown on Saturday, soonest available was Tuesday. Tech was supplied wrong address for service, was about 1.5 hours late. Finished work in a total of 15 minutes. Was not given an estimate before service as promised on their website. Total bill minus coupon was $175, for literally 15 minutes of work. After making several calls I was called by the service manager and I asked her how the bill could possibly be that high with no parts supplied and such a quick repair. She was INCREDIBLY rude to me and very argumentative. I was in no way trying to get free service, just service at a fair rate and per their own policy stated on their website. I finally agreed to pay $100 just to get off the phone with her. The plumber was nice and other people I talked to on the phone were respectful but the service manager was horrible. I found out she was the person authorizing the charges when the plumber called to ask how much it would be. Very, very shady. I would really avoid this company, there has to be better ones out there.

I had a toilet that has tended to continue to run and haven't been able to fix it. I have bought numerous new flappers over the years and have had plumbers out twice before. Saw the 5-point toilet Angie's list offer and decided to give it another go. Uptown Plumbing arrived on time, took one look and said that we had the wrong size flapper. Really?!!! We have lived in the house 10 years and no other plumber figured this out? When I would go in to purchase a replacement I just kept replacing with a newer version of the old one, however, we have had two other plumbers out and it would always work for a month or so before the too small flapper (just barely covering) would get too soft and start leaking again. Neither other plumber ever diagnosed the problem. Uptown had a replacement on their truck and changed it out. 4 months and still working.

I just paid for the service call. Got a disposal elsewhere and had it installed.

The boiler would intermittently not fire up when heat was called. Uptown Plumbing, Heating and Cooling was booked for an appointment about two weeks in advance. The technician was right on time. First, I asked if the problem could be the thermostat, and at his request replaced the batteries. Then, he went to the basement and came back up in 45 minutes with a pre-printed laminated billing sheet in a three ring binder that said something like Silver Plan and Ignition Safety Systems and presented a bill for $795. The technician assured me that the work was guaranteed for one year. I asked him to give me the part that had been replaced, then signed off on the work (which did not include a description of what the Ignition Safety Systems Silver Plan covers), and begrudgingly wrote a check. After finding out that the part cost about $50 on an HVAC supplier website, I called Uptown to complain about both the bill and that the technician had not talked to me before starting the work, and asked for a cost reduction. The two employees I spoke to, in customer service and billing, were professional. Uptown reduced the bill to $395. A few days later, the boiler again did not heat, and the technician came back within two hours and worked for about two hours to fix the problem. He ended up replacing the same part, saying that sometimes they are bad right out of the box. There was no additional charge from Uptown.

I am very satisfied overall. The initial meeting for the bid was very professional and educational (iPad for visual examples/ presentations). I had multiple bids from $6700 for a much smaller mini-split system to $12,000 for a forced air system that needed duct insulation throughout the whole house. Uptown fitted me with the appropriate system with my budget in mind. Installation was less than a day, and over the last summer with record high temps. we were extremely satisfied with the performance of the recommendation given. Also, the heating component of the mini-split system was fantastic over last Fall providing the ability to heat certain parts of the house without heating the entire home.

WE were selling our house and there was a ppossible leak from the shower on to the basement ceiling. It had to be checked before it could be sold. Thankfully there was no leak.

The first technician replaced the battery in the thermostat. But that was not the issue. 2 weeks later I woke up to a house at 46 degrees. The 2nd technician identified the problem as the flame sensor needed to be cleaned. I have not had any issues since this was done.

The technician was in the house for 15 minutes. We were pleased. Period.

It was a satisfactory experience. They came on time and did the job.

They were very prompt with their appointment, showed up on time, very courteous and fast, and their prices were very reasonable. I only ever dealt with one of their office people on the phone, I think his name was Brian, but he was a complete delight and made a rather stressful situation much more pleasant. The gentleman who did the repairs and inspection was also willing to walk me through what he was doing so I could have a basic understanding of how my furnace worked, what to look out for, etc. Very reasonable prices, great service.

Overall my experience with this company was very positive from start to finish. They were able to provide a very quick appointment. Matt was very thorough and gave me direction on resetting my boiler. I would definitely recommend this company.

The technician came out and looked at my air conditioning system, tested and determined that my system was low on refrigerant. The whole call was done in 1/2 and hour. The tech was very professional, and answered all of my questions.

Nice guy but tried to pull a quick one on me. Plumber came out to sight and essentially said it will cost an additional $XXX amount of dollars just to service the drain. Well, the problem wasn't even a clogged drain and he knew it! I expected a basic plumbing service from the ad and essentially was told that the $29 special just covered the actual visit, not the work to be done. I then asked how much it would cost to redo the plumbing work under the sink (as an alternate to just unclogging the pipe), and figures soared.. I will not detail. When I sent the plumber home, the plumber mentioned that I "should hang the dishwasher drain pipe higher, that might help with your problem." Long story short, that was the only problem with my plumbing, and I was about to be charged for boatload for what essentially was 1 line of advice that I promptly handled myself.. Be wary of special deals and know what the competition charges. I was able to redo under my entire sink, replace 2 pipes in my basement including a new outdoor water valve, and unplug a basement drain for half of what I would have been charged to get under my sink replaced with this company. I may have gotten a great deal, but that goes to show how much something can be upcharged based on the plumber you hire out.. Angie's list, I demanded a refund as the ad was misleading. The company refused to give a refund of the $29, and directed me to you for a refund of which I didn't obtain. Not sure if this will be resolved. Thanks.

They responded to my call and had someone out to my home to repair it within 4 hours. It was expensive but overall, they did a good job.

Scheduling the appointment was the only real positive part of this experience. Their customer service agents are responsive and helpful. I got an appointment easily within a window that worked for me. The Uptown plumbers were supposed to arrive between 2pm and 5pm. Around 5:30pm, after waiting >3 hours, I had to call the dispatch to find out what was going on. There was no call from them to tell me they were running late. When they did arrive (after 6pm), they inspected the two fixtures I needed repaired. To be clear, these are relatively new fixtures that probably just need one of the internal parts changed out to stop the dripping. To my surprise, they didn't even attempt to repair anything. Instead, they pulled out a price manual that apparently has pre-set pricing for pretty much any type of plumbing job. They recommended replacing both fixtures at nearly triple the cost of what I was expecting. They had no interest in troubleshooting or repairing the existing fixtures, they wanted to up-sell and make more money. Most plumbers I have used in the past charge by the parts and labor. I was very surprised that they didn't individualize their quotes based on the job size. Everything is pre-set and highly inflated. If you're looking for a good plumber at a reasonable price, I would look elsewhere. UPDATE 3/23/2013: I ended up hiring a licensed plumber through my general contractor and they did all of the work above plus more at 50% of the price. Don't hire Uptown, shop around and you'll save money.

For more than a year and a half, we struggled to find the problems with the hot water heat system in our newly bought house. We'd had plumbers come out and rerun sections of pipe that might have had leaks, heating folks come out to bleed and refill out heating system, but not until Uptown came did we have a solid, knowledgeable, complete assessment of the entire situation. They quickly explained what the problems were, options that we had for repair and replacement, what could be done now vs. later, and eventually scheduled us for a boiler replacement the following day (during the holidays even!). They were courteous, fast, thorough, and took time to show us what was going on. We would call them again certainly, if needed, and would recommend to others.

Great service start to finish. Very customer service oriented.

The deal was $50.00 for the estimate to be applied to the work if I hire them. Guy comes in says he'll hook my sink back up for aprox 3x my other free over the phone estimates. ( My hardwood floors were just finished) I don't hire them for the work. He was in my house for 10min and walked away with $50.00.
