It was $179 for the service call because it was after 6pm. That just got the plumber here and included no work. It took him under an hour to swap out our standard hose bib with one that could allow reverse flow, and then I hooked a hose from that to my neighbor's house. The "emergency water hookup" somehow cost another $600 for a grand total of $780. The work was fine and timely, and I liked the plumber. But that seemed really exorbitant to me.

On Thursday we discovered that our hot water heater had quit working. We called Uptown Plumbing that day and they were able to come out Friday morning. They said that we could patch it for $500 or replace it for $1300. We opted to replace it, but then decided to upgrade to a more expensive model. We generally buy middle of the road for most things so it was an easy upgrade decision to make. After everything was said and done we ended up paying $1900. I thought the service went as smooth as you could hope. The service was prompt and professional. We have our hot water working again and feel that what we have now should last a long time!

I've used Uptown before and was always impressed. I diagnosed the issue to the condenser fan on the AC unit before I called them with the service request. Tech arrived promptly and started diagnosis. He hooked up pressure gauges even though it had all the symptoms of the condenser fan failure. The fan was dancing and not turning normally. The high pressure cut-out had tripped several times recently but the unit started up fine after resetting the trip so we couldn't tell what the root cause of the problem was. After several calls by the tech to his manager and Lennox he told me his manager didn't want to perform the warranty work. In the end he said he would get the part and install it for $800. Wow - that is really high for a couple hours of labor since the motor was under warranty. I saw Internet sites talking about $450 and complaining it was high. I did not accept the cost. Now I'll have to find someone else that will perform Lennox warranty work and start all over again. Even worse I had to pay $49.00 to have the diagnosis done when I identified the issue from the start. After multiple power cycles by the tech the fan is running even though nothing was changed. Now I'll have to wait for the failure again to call someone else. UPDATE 7/26: The condenser fan motor failed again on the next start. I have ordered the replacement motor on the Internet for $300 and will attempt the replacement myself. It is easier and more reasonably priced to order the part off warranty and not pay the installation cost. I received a follow-up call from the owner of Uptown to discuss a resolution but since I have the part on order there isn't much left to offer. It was happy to know the owner is concerned about customer satisfaction. UPDATE 7/29: The condenser fan motor was received from the Internet source and replaced. The fan motor runs correctly after the replacement. The total time for the replacement was under 2 hours.

OK...everything was good however they ordered the wrong part and I was without AC for an extra 10 days due to their mistake. They are very good and very clean.

They were good. They did a lot of work for us when they were out here. I liked them. They had a very different approach. They have everything priced out ahead of time. Which sometimes works out really well and sometimes it doesn't. I thought they were fine, but I would probably not go back to them.

The technician explained the basic functionality of the unit and what the potential issues were as he performed a diagnostic of the unit. He also took time to answer my questions and gave me some options in terms of a solution. Very professional and customer service oriented.

My sump pump stopped working on Saturday. Called them and they were able to schedule an appointment rightaway with weekend pricing. Jason showed up that Evening and replaced the broken sump pump with ease. He was very skilled in his job. There was some misunderstanding on the price charged but Sherry (the owner) later called back to resolve it and explained the breakdown of the charges. Overall, happy with the service.

They have done major work for us in the past. It went very well.

We had a great experience with everyone we worked with at Uptown Plumbing. The estimator, crew, and the office staff were all true professionals. We are happy with the classy job they did in sitting and installing the furnace.

The service guy was punctual, polite, and professional. The air conditioner is now working. It took longer than expected to have the work finished, because parts were delayed. However, this is understandable and the delay was no more than necessary. I feel like he was sensitive to my time and scheduling needs. It was raining on the day he arrived, and the repair guy was very careful to avoid getting my floors and carpets muddy and wet. My only problem with the service I received was price. It is very hard for a non-expert to know what a fair price for a particular service would be. And in these circumstances, where every service call from a repair company costs money just to get an estimate, it is hard to know what an alternative competitor would have charged for the same service. The final price, $1800, did seem high compared to what I've had to pay for repairs in the past in order to get the AC up and running. Also, before he did the work, the repair guy presented me with a list of about six different levels of price he could charge me for the service, depending on what extras I might want to pay for. While I'm sure some people would have appreciated these options. I did not feel as if I was given enough information about what they involved and why they might be needed to make an intelligent decision. It also struck me as a way to increase the cost of the service beyond what I really needed and called the company for.

One of my outside faucet was leaking into my basement, so they replaced the head and put in a new three foot pipe with new valve. The service was very good, and the plumber Jason knew what he was doing. They also quickly scheduled me in within a few hours of my call. The issue I had was with the exuberant price. The cost of parts probably didn't cost them more then $60, but lets say $100. That would leave about $400 in labor costs for a job that takes 60 to 90 minutes top (the labor was during a weekday about 3pm). I think they knew I was nervous about my leak, so they proceeded to hike up the price. It's too bad, because they have other very good qualities. I would say use them in non-emergency situation and when you have time to check alternative estimates. Otherwise, in an emergency situation, go elsewhere.

I was very impressed. It was excellent from start to finish. They did what they said they were going to do. The were pleasant the whole time. They showed up on time and cleaned up after they were done. They were great at explaining what they were doing throughout the whole process.

Have used Vogt exclusively prior to their acquisition by Uptown. Uptown called the day of our scheduled service to cancel and reschedule out 6 weeks. Felt pretty disrespectful. Follow Up: The CEO of Uptown called to follow up on my comments. She agreed the situation was not handled well and apologized. A real apology, not the fake corporate speak you usually hear. She also spent time on the phone with me scheduling a faster date for service and offered to do it free of charge. That is what I call great customer service. I with everyone were as professional.

I wanted to understand why they were declining to do the work. I asked to speak to the owner to get an explanation. They will not respond to my emails (after sending the email that they would not be providing a quote, and then another one saying the owner was out of the office). I know that fixing another contractor's mistakes is not always attractive, but I think a service-oriented company should be willing to explain the decision. I spent time walking their rep through the house and discussing the problems. When he left there was no hint that they wouldn't do the work.

Jason, the lead technician, left the cleanest basement floor that you ever wanted to see. Everything was swept up and washed. That floor had not been washed in probably 60 years. I had a couple of concernes after he left. He came back to address these concerns. The company dates back to 1914 so they are specialist in old houses.

The big deal service from Uptown Plumbing, Heating & Cooling was good. Overall they were good. They ended up not replacing the boiler. It came to a price point where it was better with another company. Overall, professionalism they were very good. I give them an 'A' all around.

Do not, do not use Uptown Heating and cooling if you want someone to show up. I was scheduled for today (May 30th) between 7-11 a.m. They called at 11:01 a.m. to inform me that they would NOT be showing up and that the earliest they could come fix my air conditioning is next Tuesday. I am 33 weeks pregnant, and it's going to be HOT these next four days. Also, I work so have to take another day off to sit here and wait for them. I am beyond irate. Their excuse is that another customer's job they had to fulfill this morning is going to take longer, so I cannot get my service. If you are looking for reliable customer service, do not call Uptown.

Uptown Heating has skilled technicians and a well-organized office staff. I called on a Monday morning due to the boiler / water heater had failed to ignite multiple times on Sunday. They were able to have a technician out to the house by mid-day. The technician arrived at the pre-set time, found the problem and replaced the ignition mechanism, and did a good job of explaining & showing why the component had failed. Office staff called me again later to follow up on the service visit.

They arrived on time. Quickly assessed the issue. Gave me an estimate. And went to work. Not only did they fix the issue, they taught me how to do it so that in the future, I could do it myself.

Great company to work with. I had contacted two other companies to get a bid and they wouldn't even call me back. This was not the case with Uptown, I was able to set up an appointment for an estimate within a couple of days. The positive experience started with Jake when he came out to give me a bid to replace the current boiler with a high efficiency boiler. Jake was very knowledgeable and he took the time to answer all my questions and explain my options. The positive experience continued with the techs that installed the new boiler and indirect water heater. The crew (Andy, Dave and Shaun) were very professional, friendly and their workmanship was excellent. I could not be any happier with the final product. I am extremely satisfied with Uptown and I will definitely use them again.

It was a very positive experience. They are very professional, they do excellent work and I feel like they are trustworthy. I don't have to second guess what they recommend or don't worry that they are doing a bad job. They are on the higher side as far as the cost but I would rather pay a little bit more and know that I would have the job done correctly than try to find the cheapest guy out there.

They were not the least expensive bid we received, but they definitely seemed like the most professional company. They were easy to work with, very prompt, cleaned up after themselves, and did a high-quality job. We've had them back for routine maintenance and annual inspections and they are very prompt and timely. Would definitely use them again. Our heating bills are about 40% less with the new furnace.

I worked with Jason. He was so nice, helpful and informative. I felt like it was the kind of service you just don't get anymore. It was truly amazing to feel like having what seemed like a very bad situation, not so bad. Jason is in the right profession.
