He came in gave us an estimate, gave us an internet discount, I looked it up on my phone. He did the work in less than an hour. He had covers over his shoes, very professional. He showed us exactly what was broken, and told us why it kept breaking. I called yesterday, he came in today and looked at it, he said that it was condensation from yesterday and he said that it was good. He followed up for free. If you have any questions after there work is done, they will come back out. They come right when they say they are, there is no 4 hour window. I called Roto-rooter and they asked if I had of tape to temporary mend it and that emergencies would be more, this guy said the price was the same. His name is Phil Baker.

I have used Uptown for various jobs in the past and was satisfied. In fact, I have reviewed them on Angie's List and gave them an A for service. This was a bad experience with the particular plumber sent for the job. In this case the plumber attempted to sell a new faucet instead of fixing the faucet in place. The faucet he proposed was not appropriate for the bathroom architecture and was rejected. I had diagnosed the problem ahead of time, and even attempted a fix by replacing the cartridge. Unfortunately, my fix did not work. Thus, I called the plumber. When we discussed what was done before and my belief that a new cartridge was unnecessary as I had just replaced it, the plumber insulted me. At that point, I asked him to leave, stating that he could invoice me for the trip charge, but I would dispute it. He stated that he was waiving the trip charge and left.

We had a mini split system installed, during a torrential downpour, and Mikan/Dave were awesome throughout it all. Their level of care, input/expertise, and professionalism went above and beyond our expectations. My husband and I had to work during the day and left them to it and due to a few unexpected issues (weather and our house, not Uptown's fault), they were still working very hard upon our return and stayed until it was completed. They cleaned up, showed us how to work the system and we couldn't have been more pleased with them. We highly recommend Uptown, specifically Mikan/Dave to others.

The overall process went well. The plumber showed up on time, was incredibly professional and took care of the leak. I also appreciated t he quick turn around time. I called the day prior at around 5 and they had me on the schedule for a time between 7-11 the next day. They then called back to further narrow the window to between 7 and 730. My issue with the service provided was really in the pricing. I got an opaque invoice, so I don't have a breakdown of the exact costs, but I tried to estimate it based on what I found online. The individual that came out to my house was a master plumber, and I found online that the top end rate is around $160 an hour. He was there from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM (but I'll round to 2 hours). So, the labor would be $320 to fix the pipe. Then there are the parts, which as near as I could tell was a few feet of copper pipe (guessing at what was used), which I found at Home Depot for around $10, plus probably some other things in there for parts that I didn't notice (because I'm not a plumber), so I'll round up the $10 pipe to $100 in materials. That puts the total cost at $420, but I paid $537.It would have actually been $587 but I had a coupon for $50 off. So even at the top end of what I calculated, allowing for a healthy profit margin for Uptown Plumbing, there is still $167 that I can't explain. There wasn't much I could do when given the price because I took time off work and probably couldn't get another plumber to come out in the next hour to give a competing quote. Overall the service was good and punctual, but the pricing made me feel like I was being mistreated, based on my understanding of what the actual cost of the service was. I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but don't have any information on that because of the opaque invoice I received. I think I'd look elsewhere for plumbing services next time because of the price.

I bought a house with a very old furnace. So old, in fact, that no energy efficiency information was available for it (though an energy auditor estimated it to be below 65%). Needless to say, we weren't prepared to pay so much in heating cost and started looking at upgrade options. Uptown was one of two companies that I got a quote from, and while the cost was higher, I happily chose them. These guys are the Apple to other company's PC! After picking a product, securing financing (through a third party), and setting an appointment for installation, they came right when they said they would and began the work. The work done was pretty extensive, but they were in and out in just a day, leaving the basement as clean as it was when they got there. They showed me how the humidifier worked and told me they would need to come back in the spring to finish the air conditioning install (everything is done, except for the release of refrigerant from the unit and balancing). From the streamlined and simplified product options, to the paperless quotes, to the friendliness of all the employees involved, they were pros and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Bought the $49.50 diagnostic service call due to a radiator that was only partially filling and would not bleed air when opened. Sadly, I was ignorant about radiators and boilers. The tech arrived on schedule and was very pleasant and professional. He quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. He educated me about how to add water to the system if the pressure dropped below a particular point and what the ideal pressure range was. He also told me how to drain the system in order to temporarily move a radiator for an upcoming project. Very happy with tech and service!

Bo from Uptown was very professional and explained what was needed to install a new water heater without much added options that I did not need. He also suggested some issues that could have caused the malfunction of my old water heater. The price was more then I expected to pay but the professionalism and prompt service was well worth the cost.

asThe evaluation of my boiler took the better part of a half hour. Recommendations for repairs ranged from $2700 to $5200. Cost of service call was $70 which I paid while trying to digest the outlandish quotes. The service personnel were courteous--just not in touch with the real world. The gas company was able to get all the work done for less than $300!!

We asked Uptown Plumbing to give us an estimate on replacing our furnace and purchasing a new one. Frankly, they seemed bored and disinterested with coming to our home to give us an estimate. The person who came to our home was perfunctory, compared to the estimating process that 2 other bidders performed. When we did receive an estimate, it was higher than another Angie's list "A" rated provider. We did not contact for services with Uptown and would not contact them again.

I truly could not be happier. The boiler system had a leaky drain valve and an air pocket that 2 other companies never did get resolved. It was so loud and at night actually would wake you up when the zones would wake you up at times. Kyle spent better than 4 hours systematically working through the whole thing, and tested, re-tested and re-tested yet again until we all were satisfied it was good. Kyle explained it all as he was doing things. Multiple zones were involved and the air pocket seemed to manage to "hide" from everyone as the other companies just did not get it right. It took a lot of time, trial and error and a qualified person to get it done right. Highly recommend Uptown!

Great. Arrived on time. Very good work ethics. Worked all day without breaks. Cleaned up well. Kept the door closed (have cats). Took from 8am-1:30pm.

The service went fine. One technician came out and completed the job in a timely manner. I had no problem scheduling the deal.

The installer, Jason, was top-notch. He was very professional, took the time to answer my questions, and did a great job. I should also note that Uptown performed this work the same day I called, so that was great. My only negative feedback is with the pricing and invoicing. Uptown uses an opaque, flat pricing model. They present you with an estimates up-front and then you pay that regardless of how long (or short) the work takes. This wasn't totally clear going into it, but to be fair, I didn't clarify. I was presented with seven options ranging from $2800 to $4800; all for the same water heater but with varying levels of warranty. The estimate seemed steep, but I was desperate to get my hot water back, so I went ahead with their cheapest option. Bottom line: the work was great, the staff is fantastic, but the prices stink.

Our water heater was leaking, luckily the water was channeling to the basement drain, and they sent someone out within the hour. Two hours later, our new water heater (our old one was 18 years old) was up and running. Dan Patten was our service provider. Very friendly, professional, and they left work space clean, stayed to make sure everything was working properly. They tagged the major lines for us, which was a big help, as we have a boiler with radiant heat, so I knew exactly where to turn off the water. We've used them for several years, always with great results.

I called this company to get a quote for a new boiler on a home I'm purchasing. They said they would not come unless I own the home. Even when I insisted I have an accepted offer on the home and the owners have okayed an inspection, they refused to give me a quote. Getting a quote is very important to me as I plan for my expenses in this purchase, and it is part of my home inspection. I can only imagine they don't want to waste their time in case the deal doesn't go through. What a disappointment. I called another company who was very helpful and willing to give me a quote.

I noticed there was a dead mouse in my AC unit outside. I couldn't get to it to get it out, I didn't know if there were more, or a nest or if there were chewed wires.... so I called Uptown. They sent someone out the next day. Gentleman was prompt and very nice. He ended up having to take the cover off of the unit to get the mouse out and to verify that there weren't any issues with the wires / etc. He thanked me for being a loyal uptown homeowner club member and said there would be no charge.

They are a wonderful organization with great workers. They provided us with a good deal for the work. A previous technician had installed a different type of flux than needed and it speeded up the need for the unit to be replaced. They were very apologetic and took $700 off the installation of the new air conditioning unit. They were very accommodating and flexible with scheduling as well. They have great follow up. They call and send letters to see how things have gone with the work. Overall, we have been happy with their services and would recommend them.

The service was basic. They took a look at our furnace as well. They took apart some paneling and duct work and did not put them back together before leaving. Their quote seemed reasonable. My experience with them was fine.

Great service, from start to finish. Communication is excellent, crew was right on time and got to work. Everything went smoothly. They did fantastic work and we're very pleased.

appointment/process went well overall. the technician took the time to look around the house and see if there might be any other issues, but did make some assumptions about what was wrong with the unit before running tests. He originally told me that the unit was probably too small to cool the house, but it actually turned out that we had no coolant in the air conditioner. He immediately replaced the coolant and the unit has been running great since!

Jon and Rob arrived right on time, examined the boiler and valves, talked to my husband and I about the faulty zone valve and explained the repair process. They told us about isolation valves, which we did not have, and explained how in the future, isolation valves could be shut off so the radiators and boiler would not have to be drained. We agreed that we would like to have isolation valves installed and they worked up the estimate. We agreed to the estimate and they proceeded to replace the zone valve and add the isolation valves. After they were done and the boiler was refilled, they tested the system and it worked as it ought. They cleaned everything up, gave us the final paperwork, which was the same as the estimate (no surprises!) and packed up and said goodbye. Jon and Rob were exceptionally nice guys and made the whole process much more painless than it might have been. We were very impressed with their work, their positive energy and their cheerfulness. And it was terrific that they could do it on the same day, rather than having to reschedule for later. We will certainly use Uptown Plumbing again.

We just really appreciate Uptown plumbing. First, Stephanie is always so positive, upbeat and professional when you call to make an appointment; a true pleasure to talk with. Then Jason came out today for our service call and was just top notch! He is extremely knowledgeable; a true craftsman. What could have been a very expensive fix, Jason was able to quickly and VERY cost effectively resolve due to his extensive experience. Much like Stephanie, he was also positive, upbeat, professional with a nice easy going friendly demeanor. He was able to answer some questions we had referencing other situations in our home, and give some meaningful and helpful advice. Overall a great job by a great guy! They were also running a promotional event called the "honey do list." Basically had a list of those typical home owner honey do chores that you could choose from and have them perform for free; Seriously, who does that anymore? Customer service and satisfaction are not just empty words for Uptown Plumbing- they actually walk their talk! In the end however, if a company doesn't consistently provide quality service, get the job done right, and have trained and knowledgeable professionals, the bells and whistles don't always really matter. This is our second experience with Uptown, and we continue to be impressed with the service; from start to end!!!! We will absolutely continue to call upon them...and you should too!
