Handyman Connection of Eden Prairie

My experience with Handyman Connection was terrible. I will never utilize them again and caution others that are considering them. I had a exterior painting project that was quoted in May 2024 and the project was not completed until late September due to the poor work and damages that were caused to my gutter system that I found after they were “finished”. No workers came and informed me of the damages. So when the worker’s came to me to come and take a look at their work I found half my house was painted in a different color than the other half! Eight sections of my gutter system were damaged and needed to be replaced and my brown garage door was now a shade of purple! To top things 25% of the surfaces that were to be painted and included in the original quote was never painted! I was also not informed of this by the workers and found this out when I questioned them. I spoke to Management about my concerns and there was no rush to remedy the situation and no consideration to reducing the quoted price at all. They also left paint on a number of my windows and door frames and when you have bronze frames and beige paint splattered on them it is very obvious to the eye but no effort to remove those spill/drips. I could go on with the issues that I had but I will end by using a very popular saying “Caveat Emptor” or Let the Buyer Beware! They have some good reviews but I certainly do not have anything good to say about the service and the outcome I had with them. I will say the workers themselves were very nice but that’s as much as I can say nice about my experience.

This company is the absolute worst in every category. They ruined my patio roof, then delayed payment on legal judgement so I couldn't hire it fixed before winter. They lied and attempted to belittle me in front of my renters and in court. The photos are of their finished work.

Did what was requested within budget

They were initially prompt to come out and give a quote. It then was a night mare when scheduling. The issue was that they would not contact us and we had to chase them down. They were supposed to come one day but never showed up which was inconvenient since we had to board our dog for the day. The painting job was nice overall and they were efficient. After the project was complete they inundated me with phones, emails, texts all in 1 day to pay the bill. I had received an invoice only 1 hour earlier. If they would have put this much energy into the scheduling piece I would give them a better review.

Make sure you review the quote contract carefully prior to signing since Handyman Connection has incompetent employees. They have advisors that do not accurately quote the required work needed even though you have clearly pointed to them the work that needed to be done and they have taken pictures. Do not believe them when they verbally tell you all work will be done that same day no matter if they have to look for parts. They then will try to come up with a higher quote estimate after you have already signed. Having their Project Manager Ethan Pankratz threatening to put a collection/lien on your property for disputing their mistake. I would highly NOT recommend them for any home improvement needs. You are paying on the higher end for lack of communication and poor customer service. In January 2023 we contacted Handyman Connection of Eden Prairie (HCEP) to provide a quotation on refurbishing our entryway including drywall repair and painting. A quotation was provided and we asked for, and received a list of references with phone numbers. We spoke to all references and one particular handyman stood out as the best person for the job. We contacted the company and invited that person over to see and discuss the project. We agreed to sign the proposal and make the required down payment IF our chosen person would commit to doing the work. He agreed and we moved forward on the project. We requested that the project be scheduled 3 months hence and the company agreed. As the scheduled start became imminent, we were informed that our chosen person would NOT be available to perform the work. This was 4 days prior to the scheduled start date. We requested that the project be canceled and were told that there would be a 5% cancelation fee subtracted from our refund. We objected to the cancelation fee based on the fact that the company did NOT provide our chosen handyman as agreed and breached the contract but the cancelation fee was subtracted from our refund. We certainly would NOT recommend Handyman Connection of Eden Prairie for any more handyman work for the following reasons: -Bait and Switch on the handyman provided -No communication on switching the handyman until 4 days prior to the start of the project -Very difficult to communicate with by phone, slow callback response -Charging a 5% cancellation fee after breaching the contract by the bait and switch of the handyman -Inflated contract fee (HCEP quoted us $5714 for the project and we had it done by a different company for $2280)

It's very difficult to communicate with them , no responses received. The work was done beautifully and exceptionally it's just the communication.

Handyman Connection did such a great job on my bathroom remodel that I decided to use them for my kitchen as well. Great communication and fair price, would definitely use them again!

Easy to schedule and fast estimate!

In an age where most contractors “get to you when they can” handyman connection was the exact opposite. From estimate to final walk through I felt like our job was a top priority. A refreshing experience. Would definitely recommend!

It went great! My biggest issue with hiring someone was timing and sticking to a schedule. I’ve had projects in the past that dragged on and I was probably a little more needy than most people with keeping me updated and hitting targets. I’m very pleased with how they planned and executed. I wish I had found them sooner as I would have avoided some past headaches. I’ll surely be recommending them to others.

Nate from Handyman Connection of Eden Prairie was incredibly refreshing to work with. He was very professional, reliable, fair, and efficient in communicating from the start of the job to the end. The quality of work and attention to detail was outstanding, something that is very hard to find these days unfortunately. I am already under contract for him to build our deck and help finish the basement next year. 10 out of 10!

They did a great job with communicating and getting the things done around the house that I've pushed off. I'd recommend them for any services.

Great! From start to finish they made the whole process efficient and effortless on my end. We had our master bathroom remodeled and the whole handyman team was fantastic to work with! Anyone looking to take the effort out of a big remodeling job I would highly recommend Nate, Kyle and the entire team!

It did not. Handyman Connection Lied from beginning to end. The quote stated including materials, but they they asked us to buy the materials before they started the work. When questioned they said that me expecting the word including to mean including was semantics on my part and refused to acknowledge my complaint. Took weeks to get my money back and they kept a 5% cut for the materials that they purchased form my job which, in their mind, were not included and I needed to buy them

First of all, we were very dissatisfied because they rescheduled 4 times and actually "no showed" with the 4th appointment with no communication or contact information on a Saturday. Secondly, we depended on them to be the experts in recommending the type of wood needed to secure a banister handrail to the wood sleeve they made. The wood acted and looked like veneer and popped open on the corners when the railing was attached. they said we signed off on the type of wood used and were liable for the end result. It was a very poor recommendation on their part. On top of that, they cash our deposit check 4 weeks before any of the work was done.

Repair service was scheduled with confirmation email sent on same day. However, they never showed up at scheduled time. Later they indicated this service time was only a "placeholder" in their system and they would follow-up with a new confirmation (which was never sent for over a week before I gave up). Very poor communication and customer service skills.

I had not been keeping up with maintenance on our house and was getting ready to sell it. I didn't have the time or expertise to do the job right. Handyman Connection did everything we asked them to do, and in more than one case did more than we asked them to do for less than they estimated. They were trustworthy, authentic, understanding, and highly skilled. I would hire them again in a second!

The team who worked on our spaces were very qualified tradesmen, worked quickly, accurately and met promised timelines. Their workmanship has been the source of many compliments from my friends and family. Would totally recommend you give them a call.
