Green Stuff Outdoor Services

I would advise anyone looking at doing business with Green Stuff to NOT, and seek any other company for their services. I had them servicing two properties for me and had issues at both. First property they would show up spend about 10 minutes when they were supposed to be mowing, trimming and cleaning up lawn. They would walk around push mower a couple of time across front yard edges and leave. This was when no one was home and witnessed by neighbors that would inform me. When I called company to inquire, they said that my lawn didn't require more work, which it actually did. Our second property was worse. We had them contracted to fertilize and weed kill. In the year of 2021 our lawn was beautiful and we had the thickest and healthiest lawn in our cultisac. They applied fertilizer and weed control for the season and mid season my wife noticed weeds that were not being controlled. We called and they said that they would send someone out to inspect and reapply if needed. Later in the season we noticed many areas of dead grass. Once again my wife called and expressed concern. They stated that it was because of drought conditions (without inspecting) and to water more, which we did. Later in year my wife again called for concern and was given same answer and told that our lawn would be better next spring. Spring of 2023 most of our front, side and back lawn was dead. I called to express my concern and they told me that they would send someone out. No one showed up. So after several calls someone finally showed up and told us to reseed. I asked their representative to have the company owner to contact me. Well after many calls and no response I was finally able to make contact with the owner Ryan. I explained our dissatisfaction and issues. Asked for them to simply help us to get our lawn back to reasonable condition with black dirt spread (I would have it delivered) and to reseed our lawn. He told me that his staff didn't have the time and that he and his company would not help to repair our lawn that his company killed. He gave me a partial bag of seed and told me that I would have to spread it. Green Stuff claims to guarantee their work, but does not. Contracts to fertilize grass and kill weeds, but only kills the grass and then they take no responsibility to the damage they do to your lawn to refuses help repair any damage. Very poor company and dishonest owner. Do not do business with this company or it's owner Ryan.

I received an estimate from this company in May 2023. I found them difficult to communicate with, and they refused to give me any idea on when service would start. We were in a rush to take care of a lawn in the new house we moved into that was just totally decrepit, so date of service start was very important to me. I decided to book with another company, so I didn’t sign the estimate, which clearly states that it needs to be signed in order to start services. Imagine my shock when, on the day the company I did decide to go with shows up, so does Green Stuff. They were p*****. I got some calls from their admin team, where I reminded them repeatedly that I never agreed to or signed for the service. They again sounded p*****, but basically left it alone for months. Then I started getting calls and emails, which I ignored because, once more for those in the back of the room, I didn’t agree to their service. Apparently one of their techs did something while they were here (an $84 service) despite the fact that there was no agreement. They are now claiming to bring me to court and ding my credit because of their mistake and $84 that is supposedly on my account. Frankly, I have been screwed by so many companies and contractors this year, that I have had it. I would love to see proof of service agreement - they’ve never seemed to be able to cough that up.

They have me a quote of 600. I have an acre of land. I moved new to this house and the lawn needed a cleanup. There are leaves at all the edges and also a bunch of branches everywhere. I brought a lot of the branches and everything in one place. I booked them for cleanup and haul. The first time they sent 3 guys who didn’t pick anything from the edges or anywhere. Then when they were leaving, I asked them to clean the branches and leaves and they moved everything to the edge and left. Then, I called these people and they sent one person who hauled just what I had put in one place. Didn’t do anything with the leaves and branches on the edges. I was done. I can’t keep calling them to do a good job. I paid them on time but I will tell you this is one of the worst services I have received in the US. The second guy started blowing leaves but did it for 20 seconds and stopped: must have thought it was a lot and gave up. So sad.

Their prices are lower because they only do half the job. I hired these guys again this year and should not have. I used them a couple years ago and was home once when they came and I watched the guy. He didn't even come close to the edges of my lawn when spraying. I watched again the other day. I have a large back yard and he barely sprayed 1/3 of it. Didn't even come close to the way back where the weeds are, he just walked thru the middle a bit and sprayed. I didn't see what he did on the sides and front but am assuming the same crappy job. I stopped him before he left and asked him if he was supposed to spray my entire yard. He immediately got angry with me and started mouthing off and yelling at me. I told him I watched him spray and that I saw the he sprayed maybe 1/2 my yard. He got mad, yelled at me, and left without finishing the job. Then he flipped me off as he drove away! I called to complain and they didn't even seem surprised or appalled so I'm guessing this happens frequently. Just said they would send someone to respray. I told them I NEVER want this guy back on my property again. So 2 days later they send the SAME guy to respray my yard. He did it super early in the day so I didnt see him. I don't know if he actually sprayed my yard or if he just put the sign up and left. NOT impressed that they sent the same guy back with how ****** off he was that I called him out on his shoddy work. I will never hire these guys again.

They come weekly. They do our fertilizing too, they throw that in with the lawn, so they don’t charge for that. They have some issues sometimes on the billing. Sometimes it is confusing. I think they are starting a new billing system and now they email it to me. There have been a few issues where they didn’t blow off the sidewalk or the deck, but I call and they always take care of it right away. They always bounce back and take care of it. Yes, I will use this provider again.

We have never hired this company but they have fertilized our lawn twice. First time, they should have gone to our next door neighbors and the second time I got the invoice for someone living on a different street and a different house number. We have small kids and don't want chemicals on our lawn. Besides the second time, was just days after we'd used organic fertilizer ourselves. I understand that mistakes can happen but twice?

I used them for cutting the grass like two three times so I canceled that service but I kept all the fertilizing stuff. The problem for that, cutting the grass after they finished all the, mowing the lawn they left all the left overs like in all the grass and other stuff on the lawn, it looked very bad that's the reason why I canceled.

I prepaid for two fertilizer applications for 2016. Since I didn't want weed killer, they said the applications needed to be granular. The first application was scheduled for late spring and that was done professionally. The second application was supposed to be done during the last two weeks of August. They came out on Sept 9. The application was horribly uneven throughout, and left large strips and patches of dead grass where granules were dumped. On Sept 19, I called to report the uneven application and dead grass. Ryan, their rep, came out right away and promised to fix the damage. A tech came out nine days later and re-seeded what turned out to be only the most obviously damaged areas. Fortunately we've had an unusually warm fall, so the grass grew. However, it appears to be a different grass than I have on my lawn--lighter green and faster growing (after mow). Plus there are a number of relatively small areas, mostly near edging that were not re-seeded. Mowing was tricky until the new grass grew. Its been over seven weeks, and they never followed up to see how it went. I've already invested a lot more time in this than I would have simply doing the job myself in the first place. I expect I'll save time (money's already gone) fixing the remaining patches myself in the spring. If you want their standard service (sprayed fertilizer plus weed killer) and aren't fussy about timing, they'll probably be okay. (Listed cost of service was for a single, granular, pre-paid application.)

This is the first year we have used this company and, so far, I have been impressed. They have been pleasant and professional on the phone, shown-up each month (always a concern when you prepay), and they seem to be knowledgeable about their services. When I called to ask a question about some brown spots in the lawn, they sent out a representative to diagnose the problem rather than just guess. The person that came out determined there was a fungus (red thread) and the lawn needed more nitrates. He authorized a granular application without an up-charge to correct the problem. The cost has been reasonable and they seem to care about their customers and business.

Everything turned out nice. We have used Green Stuff for years and like their timing for the sprays. They will come back to redo if nothing happens to the weeds.

They did a pretty good job with the service. I was a little disappointed because I had to call them back to spray my lines in my driveway and patio where weeds come up.

We have an ongoing service spring through fall with Greenstuff. We sometimes have confusion with the billing statements because invoices don't get to us, etc., but for the most part everything goes pretty well.

They are a local company, rather than a big franchise, so when I call I actually get to speak to a person. They are reasonably priced too and we have been really pleased with what the lawn looks like. It is a good value and they communicate well. They call before they come out. They also have a rain date mentioned in the message too. We have a double lot and normally 3 guys come out from the company.

After protracted negotiation, they agreed to drop the total charge.

They should stick with lawn services. I coiuld not consistently depend upon them for snow removal and they damaged my property with their plow and refused to take responsibility for or repair it. Too many things to say so I will leave it at that. I think they tried, but just are not properly equipped staff wise or plow wise. Maybe one day they will be since this is a new part of their business. I am taking all my business elsewhere. I don't know who owns or runs the company but I think they could use a better customer relations person, just my opinion.

They let me down, and did not care to correct the problem. I guess I am just too small of an account.

I'm concerned that Green Stuff needs more help. We are in our third week of service with them and they were a no call-no show. This is odd because our neighbor is a customer as well. We thought that because they were already going to be next door that we wouldn't end up with this situation. It doesn't appear that they mowed the neighbors lawn this week either, but it's harder to tell since she doesn't water her lawn. I understand that there was a holiday, but couldn't they let me know if they aren't coming? The first two times they mowed the lawn it seems the job they did was fine. At the same time that we set up the lawn service we also requested a quote for completing a mulching project in our flower garden. The garden is 14' x 35' on the front side and 14' x 30' in the side yard. Much of it is done, but we've been overwhelmed and had hoped for help with a signifcant portion of it. I hadn't heard back from them so I called and spoke with their front desk person. She told me that their quote was for 5 yards of red mulch for $385. I asked her if that was installed and whether we could get cypress instead, since that's what we have in the rest of the garden. She said she didn't know and I would have to leave a message with the person that did the quote. I left a message and more than a week has gone by without a return call. Althought I wish the front desk person had more info so I wouldn't have to bother the guy that did the quote, I'd also like to speak with him about other larger yard projects. I want to make this work because as I look at the ratings of others here I'm worried that we would just trade bad service with one for bad service with another. We asked for the quote on the mulch knowing that we would have several projects for them this year if this one worked out well. I don't think we're in a bad neighborhood and we are certainly not afraid to pay for good service.

I have used Green Stuff's lawn and fertilization services for several years and was very pleased with the results. When they started offering a lawn mowing service approximately 3 years ago we signed up. I have been very disappointed with the lawn service. Over the past 3 years I have had to call the company multiple times about service weeks being missed and billing issues. This year was the worst. The mowers missed large portions of our lawn and once forgot to mow the back yard. I could not reach anybody in the office after 5pm on multiple days even though they stated office hours were until 6pm. To their credit, a management team did come back to our home to mow our yard again. Unfortunately, within the next three days, I received two separate bills with different balances on them which prompted another phone call. At that point I was done and cancelled our service with them.

I have been using Green Stuff Outdoor Services for 2 years. They also offer lawn mowing and aerating services.

They are really good and their prices are really great too. They will even come out in between service calls to hit some bad spots without charging extra.

I was very pleased with their customer service. They were no-pressure and seemed flexible with the difference services and packages they have available.

When I called the office, the woman who answered was very helpful and answered all my questions. They call to tell me when they are coming. They do what needs to be done and give very good service.

THIS WAS OUR FIRST YEAR TREATING OUR LAWN AND I KNOW IT CAN TAKE A FEW YEARS TO GET IT LOOKING GREAT. SO I CAN'T FAIRLY COMMENT ON THE CONDITION OF OUR LAWN. I WOULD NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. WE LIVE ON ALMOST THREE ACRES OF LAND. THEY WERE HIRED FROM APRIL TO OCTOBER. ALMOST EVERY TIME THEY ARRIVED THEY WOULD RING THE DOORBELL AND SAY THAT THEIR HOSE WAS NOT LONG ENOUGH. THEY SAID THEY WOULD NEED TO GO BACK AND GET A TRUCK WITH A LONGER HOSE. SOMETIMES THEY WOULD COME BACK THAT DAY AND SOMETIMES IT WAS DAYS LATER. WE NEVER RECEIVED A PHONE CALL STATING WHEN THEY WOULD RETURN. THAT IT HAPPENED ONCE OR TWICE IS PART OF LIFE. HOWEVER, IT HAPPENED SO OFTEN THAT IT BOTHERED ME. I THEN FOUND MYSELF WORRYING IF THEY WOULD RETURN.

WORK WAS PERFORMED WHEN SCHEDULED. THE AERATION WAS THE BEST JOB WE'VE HAD DONE. THE FIRST FERTILIZER COMPANY TO SPRAY ALL THE PARTS OF THE LAWN.

QUICK TURNAROUND ON THE ESTIMATE, FOLLOWED UP WITH WRITTEN QUOTE. THEY CALLED TO LET ME KNOW WHEN THEY WERE COMING OUT TO DO THE WORK, AND WERE RIGHT ON SCHEDULE. I ALSO APPRECIATE THE DISCOUNT FOR PRE-PAYING. WAS A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED THAT THEY DIDN'T TREAT THE BACKYARD (MAYBE BECAUSE DOG WAS TIED OUT?) AREAS. BUT STILL PLAN USE THEIR SERVICES IN THE FUTURE.
