 + -1 moreIt was great! They came when they said they were going to come, and did exactly what we expected them to do. They came back to do tree trimming since we're happy for the service that the owner did. They also did a good job in cleaning after themselves, and providing minimal damages on the surrounding area.
Description of Work: They removed some trees, and did tree trimming as well.

 + -1 moreBelieve it or not, I have not met Reed & his team in person- I contacted Reed through Angie's list, Then Reed visited our wild boxelder tree that had taken over the backyard and was soon about to cause damage to the roof of our garage. He left me a detailed paper estimate and then he called me on the phone to recap and give me available dates & times- We picked a date....I was at work during the removal , but when I came home the tree was gone and the yard looked perfect, not a branch in site. I had texted Reed that morning and asked that his team take extra caution near our freshly painted home & garage, Golden Leaf did such a nice job and Reed called me when all of the work was complete that afternoon. Thank you Angie's list for helping us find this great local resource. We would call Golden Leaf again for my next tree removal need, and we would recommend to neighbors and friends.

 + -1 moreReed's crew not only removed the tree on the garage roof, no charge, they also trimmed up some trees along the driveway in order to get their equipment in. As if that wasn't enough, they also removed all the limbs and cleaned up the debris, which speaks to the professionalism and high standards of Golden Leaf Tree Service. Folks, there's a lot of shady trade characters out there. Consider yourself lucky if you know who to call when you've got trouble. Put Golden Leaf Tree Service on your list.
Description of Work: Golden Leaf Tree Service has done numerous jobs in my neighborhood and they're very popular. While they were across the street removing several big trees, a couple of us mentioned to them that an elderly neighbor had a large tree fall in a storm earlier this summer and a big hunk of it still lay across her garage roof.

 + -1 moreCan I just say amazing!? I'm the type of person who likes to watch it all fall to the ground. The guys that showed up to my house were professional and knowledgeable.
Description of Work: I had a HUGE Silver Maple that lost a limb in the big storm on 7/23. After getting bids on the tree removal (which ranged up to $7800) I ended up going with Golden Leaf. In the process of bidding this out, I had 2 arborists that told me the whole tree should be cut down.

 + 0 moreSteve Sands is very professional and does a wonderful job. He is very prompt and plows every time there is 3 inches of snow or thereabouts. I have asked him to plow my driveway whenever there is a snowfall of any measureable amount. Steve has plowed my driveway for the past 20+ years and I am lucky to have him helping me spare my back. He bills me at the end of each month for snow removal which occurred during the past month. He keeps accurate records and I trust him implicitly. He is a great guy. He also trimmed all of my trees years ago and is very knowledgeable about all trees and what is needed to keep them healthy. I have had very good luck with all of my trees due to Steve's expertise. He is very busy with the tree trimming business and is called upon by many Twin Cities municipalities to help with downed trees and storm damaged trees in the spring, summer and fall.

 + -1 moreGolden Leaf removed a dying Pine Tree from our property. They offered a reasonable price and were very responsive to setup time for the quote and removal. They were doing a lot of work up north from the summer storms, but were great about getting me on the schedule. I had Golden Leaf trim some branches the year before and they were also competitively priced and did great work with that as well. Highly recommend.

 + -1 moreCrew did not arrive at 9 AM as arranged. I called them and they said they were on the way. Turns out they had some equipment issues. They did arrive, but would have appreciated a courtesy call. Other than THAT, they were fantastic. The large pine was removed. The stump was ground up and they raked over the area. THIS is the service to use if you are removing a large tree. The crew definitely had the mentality that they aim to please. Did a fine job of trimming the other trees and made sure I was satisfied with their work which I was. And they did a super job of cleaning up the area. I will definitely use them again next year. Recommended them to my neighbor, as well.
Description of Work: Cut down a large pine tree, ground up stump, did some other miscellaneous trimming and removed all the branches, trunk, stump, etc.

Last year as part of my landscaping project that included taking out a tree......which was performed by another tree trimmer. What a mess they left behind. They were very professional and yet friendly, and did a great job. They cleaned up everything and didn't leave even a twig behind! We would definitely hire them again and would also highly recommend them.

 + -1 moreI am a neighbor of someone having trees trimmed by this company. The foreman in a white truck preceeded me. He blocked the road and would not let me pass to get home. Went the other way. When I did finally get home he was still in the middle of the road conducting a cell call. Very unprofessional. Trees are piled everywhere. That includes in the street both sides of the street in surrounding neighbor yards. I live in an area with lots of tree trimming and this is an unprecedented level of disregard for the neighbors.

 + -1 moreI have used Golden Leaf many times. I trust Steve to keep my trees shapely and wonderful looking. He removed three large mangley red twig dogwood bushes from my backyard. I forgot he was coming and when I got home nothing triggered he had been there until I noticed I could see my neighbors garden again. Not a twig or leaf was left behind in the yard or driveway. He trimmed off some large branches from trees along my driveway which is hard to get to with his trucks, but he did it and left no debris behind. In the front yard two silver maples were trimmed of new growth and overhanging branches in the street were cut back. The trees look beautiful. You may have to wait awhile to get Steve's services because he is so busy, but it is worth the wait.
Description of Work: Remove three 10-12' red twig dogwood bushes from back yard lot line, cut deat branches off of birch and amur maple, and trim new growth and overhanging branches off of amur and silver maples.

Description of Work: Have a 100 year old maple in front yard next to house. It had received root damage from sewer work close to the tree. Had Steve come out to see if tree was damaged in any way due to sewer work. Tree has had a crack in it for years but crack had expanded and much worse. He advised me to get the tree down as soon as possible. I was worried that tree might fall in a storm and he said he would come over and chain it for me to help keep it stable. He did the next day and this last weekend in the horrible heat he and his crew started taking the tree down limb by limb being very careful since it hung over my house. They were there from 9:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Came back on Sunday the 17th and worked all day until about 7:30 p.m. - very hot humid weather. He wanted to get the tree down as much as possible in case storms came. Came back yesterday to finish taking it down. Will be back in next few days to remove the stump. Steve has done work for me before and was always quite reasonable and prompt, careful in getting the work done. I was especially impressed with his concern and hard work to bring it down as soon as possible. Other tree services really didn't care and offered very high bids. I wouldn't use anyone else but Golden Leaf and will recommend them to everyone who needs tree work.

I have had them do quite a bit of work and it was just that one thing. I would recommend, with a little bit of hesitation, to the other members to give them a try. Most of their work has been very good. I have used them before.

 + -1 moreA good experience. Steve Sands promptly returned my call and came out for an estimate. He did all the work himself with some help from 2-3 other men (I think they may be sons/sons-in-law). The work was interrupted by weather (this was in March), but Steve did his part to finish the job in a timely manner. Good clean up afterwards.
