Everything went great. Space looks fantastic. Woodworking top notch. When we had concerns about a couple issues along the way they fixed them no questions asked. Dave was there almost every day to make sure things went well.
Description of Work: Remodel of upstairs attic space into bedroom. Fine Design did all the work except for the final painting, finishing and flooring.

Overall I was very satisfied with their work. It is a small company so communication is directly with the owners. When mistakes were made with interpretations of architectural drawings they made the corrections with no hesitation. Mistakes were made by the plumbing contractor but they eventually corrected the problems. The four month contract time extended into six months, but it was not entirely the fault of FDC. They closed out the project in a comfortable manner. Overall project cost over $200,000.
Description of Work: Fine Design Contracting provided a quote from architectural drawings and constructed a 640SF single story, slab on grade addition to our two story home. Addition included new kitchen, family room and bedroom/office complete and finished. New addition heating from radiant floor slab. Other work they undertook included flush beam installation to combine former rooms into large dining room, removal & replacement of all windows, new central air conditioning, removal & replacement of exterior siding, flush beam in garage ceiling, construction of two new roof dormers, new roofing - flat & shingles, railing posts and new double garage door. Entire exterior repainted. FDC provided all subcontractors for the work. Cost did not include kitchen finish materials including: cabinets, countertop, appliances or flooring. Owner provided flooring & it's installation. Owner provided all interior painting including hardwood door & trim finishing.

Overall we were pleased. The addition work was completed very quickly and efficiently, and looks great (the demolition and addition itself took about two months). The process of designing the upstairs in the beginning was a lot of fun, and Kurt did a good job in giving us suggestions and ideas. The master bathroom is beautiful, especially the shower glass doors (which was added via contract). The part that wasn't as smooth was the tiling in the tub/shower. I wouldn't say that is their forte. I think the biggest thing this company falls a bit short in is describing options and choices and giving customers the ability to make those choices in a timely manner. For example, when choosing shingles we had one day to make a decision, and ended up with a color that was fine, but probably wouldn't have been our ideal. Part of what helped us is the fact that we made so many decisions ourselves upfront, that we had a strong idea of what we wanted.
Description of Work: Built a second story addition to our existing rambler, up to the point of drywall in all rooms. Also built an entryway on main level. Did the tiling work in tub/shower in master bath.
Overall we thought the project went very well. Whenever they told us that there would be subcontractors coming the next day, they would arrive between 7 and 8 in the morning and usually work until around 4. They were very good about keeping our existing kitchen in tact while they transformed our kitchen around us. Most of the subcontractors were really good about cleaning up there messes before they left. The project took about 10 weeks which is about the how long Fine Design said it would take.
Description of Work: The foundation for the dining room/mudroom addition (22 x 13) to our kitchen was already complete so Fine Design took over the project from there! Fine Design started with the framing for the new addition and added an eight foot sliding glass door and six Anderson windows. The new addition included a vaulted ceiling, dining room, breakfast bar, and mud room. New lights, ceiling fan, cabinets, and countertop were also installed. They did everything except paint the walls and trim which we did to save a few thousand dollars.

THEIR PRICE WAS INCREDIBLY REASONABLE. I HAD THE ENTIRE PROJECT DONE FOR THE SAME COST AS OTHER COMPANIES HAD GIVEN ESTIMATES TO DO JUST THE KITCHEN ALONE. THEY DO VERY HIGH QUALITY WORK, ARE VERY FLEXIBLE AND WILLING TO ACCOMMODATE AND DO OTHER WORK AS NEEDED. THE OWNER WORKED DIRECTLY WITH US AND IS ON SITE FOR MOST OF THE PROJECT. HE WAS VERY WILLING TO OFFER SUGGESTIONS AND REFER US TO PLACES THAT WOULD OFFER BETTER PRICING FOR MATERIALS. THEY WERE VERY EASY TO WORK WITH AND THE PROJECT TURNED OUT BEAUTIFULLY. I WAS AT WORK MUCH OF THE TIME WHEN THEY WERE HERE AND THEY TOOK GREAT CARE OF THE PLACE. THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL AND HAD GOOD IDEAS. THEY WERE ALSO VERY FAST, THE ENTIRE PROJECT ONLY TOOK 3 WEEKS, I COULDN'T BELIEVE HOW QUICKLY AND EFFICIENTLY THEY WORKED.
Description of Work: THEY DID EXTENSIVE REMODELING THROUGHOUT OUR ENTIRE HOME. NEW FLOORING, OPENED A WALL, ADDED A SNACK BAR, REMODELED OUR LOWER LEVEL BATHROOM, PAINTED MOST OF THE HOME INTERIOR, PAINTED WOOD WORK, AND INSTALLED NEW TRIM AND A NEW PATIO DOOR.
