The work done was EXCELLENT! Always punctual, very professional and organized. The work was done quickly with meticulous attention to detail. Val and Paul were both very personable and friendly. They paid close attention to making sure everything was done right, done without damaging anything, and left no mess behind. By far, the best price we found for the job we had. The finished fireplace looks great! We will definitely recommend them to friends and family.

The process wasn't without challenges but most of the delays were due to tile availability and tile damaged in shipment. The work crew was conscientious and it was very obvious they wanted to do a good job. For example, they noticed a floor alignment problem and instead of continuing on with the project, they removed the offending tiles and redid their work to make it right. I might not have noticed the problem until after they were done with the job and long gone. Another instance of wanting to do the job the "right way" came about when the original plan called for 4 rows of accent tiles. Before starting to install wall tile above the 4 rows of accent tile, they remeasured and realized if they added a 5th row, they would avoid having a one-inch row of wall tile at the ceiling. From an aesthetics point of view, adding the 5th row made sense even though it delayed the project by yet another work day (had to wait for the 5th row to set or risk having the weight of the wall tiles crush the mesh spacing between the one-inch accent tiles). There are a couple of things this group could work on to improve themselves: While the workers were very good about cleaning up after themselves at the end of each workday on the inside of the house, they used my garage as a staging area for the project waste from the demo. Unfortunately, they left the waste laying all over the garage and I would not have been able to get my car under cover overnight had my plumbers not been kind enough to consolidate and move the tile demo materials off to the side. Once the tiling work was done, it still took another week plus for this waste to be removed from the premises. Second area of improvement would be better communications between Val and his work crew. There were a couple of instances of miscues between Val and the work crew. My plumbers consulted with Val early on and they made it clear the tile should be cut in such a way as to snugly fit around the toilet waste stack. This was not clearly relayed to the work crew and they left a gap of 3-4 inches around the stack. My plumbers ended up having to buy and mix up mortar to fill the gap to ensure a level, snug fit for the wax ring under the toilet. Another miscommunication happened when installing the trim around the niche. Apparently Val had intended the trim to be installed with the narrow profile facing out, while the crew was thinking the trim would be installed with the wider profile facing out. As a result, they installed the shower wall tiles a particular way. When Val did a walk through midway through the project, this lead to some tension that I picked up on. The work crew explained what was going on and explained they'd have to redo the wall tiles surrounding the niche to do the job the way Val envisioned it. I told them to leave it be and proceed with their original plan and if there was flack, send Val to me. I never heard another word about the matter and I'm thrilled with the way the bathroom looks, but it does highlight how upping their communication about all details of the job would help this group improve upon their professionalism. Despite the hiccups this project had, I would absolutely use Excell Ceramic Tile again. I'm thrilled with the way the bathroom looks and only wonder why it took a plumbing problem for me to do this update. I should have made these changes years ago!

Exell Ceramic Tile & Stone Co did a great job on our bathroom. The work was completed timely, the workers were friendly and respectful, and the final product looks great. They ordered all of the tile for us and anything that wasn't used was returned for a refund to the tile shop. The owner even went and picked up the shower head at Home Depot that we forgot to purchase. Overall, I would highly recommend this company.
