They did not install 1 of my furnaces properly, and they also routed a water drain through my living room & kitchen. I had to call them to come back to have the furnace re-leveled just over a year after the initial install, and they charged me for the visit. Their argument was that if it worked for a year, it should have been fine, however it did need to be re-leveled due to their original faulty installation. The right thing to do would have been to wave the fees for that call. They lowered it from $200 to $125, but they wouldn't budge beyond that. After spending close to $20K with them, I am done and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Additionally, I paid them to come out after the same symptoms were happening to the furnace, but it was due to water exhaust freezing outside my building. It was after hours, but all the tech really did was beat the ice off the PVC pipe with a stick, and it cost $390. It seems like some installers are better than others, but I wouldn't recommend Erickson's to anyone. Ray Welter has been very reliable for me, a better value, and more reasonable to work with.

[Member Name Removed], it does not appear that Angi sends emails when a review is received or this would have been responded to earlier. It would appear that the work you are referring to was done through Energy CENTS, a subsidized program that we do provide installations for and were contracted by. The amount appears to be about $6,500 higher than the total work that Energy CENTS paid for, our records do not reflect $20,000, but rather $13,500. While it is a sizable job, I think it is important to reflect the accuracy of information as well. Prior to finding this review, I was not personally aware of any new or outstanding issues with the installation or equipment. Please give me a call directly to discuss so that we might try to resolve any dispute or issues. My number is 612-235-4360. I would like to apologize for any issues you may have experienced and would like to point out that our reviews do not reflect poor installation and customer service. If something was not done correctly, we do stand behind our work. Sometimes there are issues unrelated to installation that can occur and while frustrating, we welcome the opportunity to assist in resolving them.

We hired Erickson to replace the water heater in our St. Paul home. Overall it went well, the only snafu was a one-day delay from when they initially said they could be out. Price was in-line with other bids we received, although Erickson did not charge us extra for a code update another company had itemized as an additional cost. The condo building we previously lived in used Erickson for regular boiler maintenance and I have always been satisfied with their work.

Call was answered right away, and service scheduled. With a tech out sick the day of our scheduled service, Evan was helpful and accommodating. We didn't need emergency service, so it all worked out great. Tech Cole called in the morning of the new appt to confirm, was right on time, friendly, and courteous. Quick work on a furnace that hadn't been serviced in 5 years due to former owner, and no surprises. Consult on a new smart thermostat we're interested in, and we will definitely call back to have Erickson do the work from here on out in our home.

Used Erickson for any heating/AC work in the past. All their people are very friendly and knowledgeable. When our older 4-ton AC system eventually went out, we spoke with two other companies besides Erickson. Erickson's prices were better, their people seemed more knowledgeable, and they just seemed, well, "honest". They performed the work exactly on time, for the price stated, and answered all my questions afterwards. Would definitely use them again.

The provider was originally to come in and replace the double concrete utility sink in the basement and replace the pipes that connected the washer. Basically replace and extend all the of the pipes and venting of the utility sink, washing machine and dryer closer together to condense the amount of space the original appliances and utility sink were taking up. The technician originally quoted me $300 to do the job before agreeing to start. The technician then continued to show me the unprofessionalism by showing me all of the emails the provider sent him and told me he was not told that was the original job. Then continued to tell me that he has been on the job since 7am and that he was going to be paid time and a half in 1 hour. So, the 1st technician was working on the job for 3 hours, and then left but failed to show my husband a huge problem that he made for us. The 1st technician redid the plumbing but failed to check the tightness of one of the shut off valves (which ended up leaking), did not secure any piping so the pipes were moving and were very loose every time you turned on and off the water from the utility sink, then failed to tell us that he opened a rust hole in the main sewer line. So when we began to do laundry, water began to flood everywhere. Also, the 1st technician failed to connect the new vent line from the dryer to the outside and did not secure the vent to anything so the whole thing was falling slowly to the floor, so the hot air from the dryer was filling the basement. After explaining to the provider what happened, they sent a 2nd technician to fix what the 1st technician did. The 2nd technician did an amazing job fixing all of the plumbing and I was charged accordingly to fix the main sewer pipe rust hole fairly (it was not the 1st technicians fault for the rust but it was his fault for not telling us there was a hole now in the pipe because of the new pipe work he did for the utility sink and washing machine). The 2nd technician secured the new pipes properly and did fix the hole and also fixed the vent and redid everything the 1st technician did. But then I attempted to use the dryer and the basement was filling up with hot air again. The 2nd technician did not tape the vent closed all the way and there were big gaps between each metal tube. It was also starting to collapse and fall again. So I contacted the provider a third time about the vent to the dryer and they sent a 3rd technician out this time. The 3rd technician then explained that the 1st and 2nd technicians were plumbers and are not necessarily have the knowledge on how to do the vent. He then explained to me he will secure the vent and redo all of it because the 1st and 2nd technician used 90 degree angles for the vent instead of 45 degree angles (he explained that 90 degree angles end up being clogged really easily with lint and become a fire hazard). the 3rd technician did a good job and left within 30 minutes I will never use this company ever again because of their professionalism and how they hire technicians. Worst service I ever received but the 2nd technician was a good plumber and the 3rd technician was a good vent guy (I don't know what his title is).
Description of Work: Did a terrible job and had to have the company send 2 other technicians (on 2 separate days) to come back and fix the original technicians job. But it gets worst, the 1st technician did a terrible job, then had the 2nd technician fix the 1st technicians job and did a wonderful job on the plumbing but did worst on the vent for the dryer. So the company sent a 3rd technician to fix the 1st and 2nd technicians job on the vent to the dryer. This all happened on 3 separate days.

Superbly. A failing solenoid valve required replacement after ten years. The valve is no longer manufactured so Erickson had to work very hard to find a compatible replacement. The service dept communicated details well and quickly. (The only goof up was MY fault for having provided an email I don't often check, so thanks to their service dept for putting up with that.) The new part was installed in short order, and they only charged me for one service call, which is more than fair. Thanks for the great service!

Erickson did a fantastic job from start to finish. Zach was very responsive when we had questions about the bid. He also arranged to have all the work done at the same time even though several different service people were involved. The project was completed on time, on budget, and professionally.
Description of Work: We hired Erickson to perform various repairs recommended by our home inspector for the house we were buying. While we were still negotiating on the house, Erickson wrote up a detailed bid so we could show the sellers what the work would cost. After the closing, Erickson replaced a faulty electrical panel, checked the furnace venting for potential problems, replaced the dryer duct, replaced a faulty sink trap, and tuned up the air conditioner.

We bought a natural gas grill and hired Erickson to connect it to an existing gas line on our deck. In Minneapolis, connecting any gas appliance requires a permit. However, it was difficult to find out the exact requirements for connecting a gas grill according to code because most people don't bother to get the permit. Zach Erickson found out exactly what we had to do to satisfy the code requirements and sent a service man to connect the grill. The city inspector was very impressed with the quality of the work. Please note: about half of the cost shown above was the cost of the permit.

Realized we haven't had a furnace check for several years so called Erickson to get an estimate. I specifically mentioned the type of furnace because not all technicians are familiar with it. They scheduled the appointment a few days out and the technician showed up within the time frame given. He clearly knew this type of furnace and it's special features. Jason performed a complete check of the furnace including the heating assembly, blower motor, and filters. He replaced the air baffle, lubed where needed and determined that the furnace is running well.

I've used Erickson for many projects in the past, and as usual they were professional, efficient, and wholly competent. They aren't the cheapest company, but you get what you pay for. I have, and continue to, recommend them to my friends and acquaintances for any plumbing or electrical work. When I purchased my "new" house, I found that the boiler was dead. I got quotes from several companies (as usual) and, even though I specified the boiler I wanted installed, Erickson came in with a quote within 10% of the competition. I hired them based on past experience, and as usual they did a tremendous job, both in the installation as well as showing me what needed to be done to generally maintain the unit.
Description of Work: I had Erickson install a new boiler and indirect heat hot water tank. These projects required new wiring for the boiler and associated sensors (this was a 95% efficient Weil McLain boiler).

The primary contact was extremely professional and easy to work with. He had good communication and very detailed as far as identifying what was in the proposal. One reason we went with them was because his proposal was a lot more well-defined than some of the others. We knew exactly what we were getting including the break-up of each one of those, and that was pretty important. He came out a couple of different times to make sure that he knew exactly what we were trying to do with the basement remodel. So the workers knew exactly what they needed to do when they came out. They were prompt, professional and friendly, and they did a great job. Phase II of the project is probably going to start at the end of the year.

It was a pretty average experience. They came out when they said they would and gave me a quote. There was nothing that stood out prominently about them, and that is probably because I have had a lot of companies quoting me for my furnace. The price was pretty normal. Erickson's crew is always very punctual and respectful - they arrived on time this visit, again. (They think to ask if they should take off their shoes before coming in the house.) They are willing to explain to homeowners what they are doing and why, and to provide options if they run into something unexpected - I got explanations on my plumbing and electrical work. They are friendly, but professional and keep you informed of how things are going as they make repairs.
Description of Work: Their crew completed three tasks. 1) electrical repairs (swapping out a bath fan for a new one, installing a hard-wired smoke detector on an apparently dead circuit) 2) plumbing repairs (replace a main drain pipe, minor faucet repairs) 3) re-plumb radiator pipes to bury them in a wall

Very well - in and out in one day and the fan is great. No visible record of the duct work - they went in through the world's smallest access hatch and into a space full up with insulation. There was a mix-up with the bidding -- the salesman bid on the wrong type of fan for kitchen exhaust, so we decided to pass on additional kitchen work at this time but would use Erickson again if we changed our mind in future. As well there was a BIG mix-up in billing - their first bill to us went out with no zip code so we never received it. This would not have been caught had I not called at the 45-day mark to inquire as to why we weren't billed. Bummer they don't take credit cards, or they'd been paid day-of.
Description of Work: Installed bathroom ceiling fan in craftsman home. Work included duct through unfinished attic space behind our finished 1/2 story area. Price included the fan and labor - particular fan model was per my instructions.

Erickson's was great to work with, and even though everything didn't go perfectly at first, they were very, very responsive in solving the minor issues that came up. I was replacing my boiler because of carbon monoxide problems with the old one. When Erickson came to bid on the replacement, Ron identified ways I might be able to fix the problem (for $350) rather than replace the boiler (for $15,000). Because I work in green building, I had some unusual and specific requests. 1) High-efficiency condensing boiler. 2) A side-arm indirect hot water heater. 3) A programmable thermostat with hot water radiator heat. They were very familiar with the super-modern technology I requested. Although they installed mercury thermostats instead of what I'd requested, we easily came to a resolution. Jason, the lead guy on my project, was WONDERFUL to have in the house. He was very good about explaining stuff to me, very respectful of the people living in my house (my tenants and roommates), and solved any problems that came up quickly. For example, after everything was installed, a few last details were going to wait until the inspector arrived. However, the heat wasn't turning on properly, and the inspection got postponed. He made a special trip out at the very end of the day (when he could have headed for home) to check on the problem, and stayed quite a long time to fix it. His team paid attention to details-for example, the new vent is horizontal out the side of the house, and required making a new hole in the house. They did an excellent job of insulating around the edges of the pipe to prevent any air leakage, and also did a great job of caulking around the vent to ensure water wouldn't get in-a detail most homeowners wouldn't notice if it wasn t properly done. The biggest problem that came up was that the drainage pipe had to cross quite an extent of basement floor space, and in keeping it out of the way, it had a number of corners...one of which didn't get properly sealed. My basement tenant reported wet carpet a few days later, and I verified the source and let Erickson know. There was a moderately small amount of mold on the wallboard from 5 days of being wet. Erickson was great about coming to fix the problem in a very reasonable time, and did a good job-complete with removing and replacing the wallboard, and putting in an appropriate-looking repair. Lastly, every time they did any work, each crew (not always the same crew) did a great job of cleaning up.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced boiler and water heater with high-efficiency side-venting boiler and indirect (side-arm) hot water heater. Shift from one to three zones linked with installation of two additional thermostats. Removed electric baseboard heater and replaced it with two hot water radiators.
