This winter my built in flower box fell off taking the wall below with it. Because of the snow all I could do was put up plastic to keep the snow and rain out. When the snow was gone and the ground dry enough to work on I used Angie's list to find a contractor. I limited my search to Minneapolis contractors. I figure if I have to pay the property tax then I should frequent those contractors who are sharing paying for city services with me. I called several contractors. One couldn't give me an estimate because of the extend of the damage. Ed Donnelly came out gave me an estimate and did the work all within a month which was quite a trick with all the rain we had. I paid half up front and the rest on completion. I have some more work that needs to get done which I would have used Ed for but I'm a state employee so until I know when I'll have a job I can't afford to make any more major purchases. Sorry Ed.
Description of Work: I had a built in stucco flower box that this winter knocked off. It pulled all the stucco covering off with it. I had a 12 ft by 4 ft bare wall which got restucco'd

They arrived on time and did a good job of matching the existing brick look. Price was as quoted.
Description of Work: My house has a fake brick facade. Due to some recent landscaping I needed to have a 15 sq foot section patched and filled in.

My house was in the middle of getting re-dashed by another company and the other company informed me that it wasn't possible for my stucco to be finished as smooth as I wanted. Because I don't know stucco, I wanted a second opinion and called Donnelly. I was amazed that they actually called me back, despite the fact that they knew this wasn't going to lead to any work for them this time around. The person I spoke with (his last name was Donnelly, but I can't remember if it was Edward) gave me a lot more information about stucco and the way that THEY would have gone about doing the job. It became clear from talking to him that my contractors were indeed doing the best they could with Portland cement, but that Donnelly would have used another product from the get-go in order to give me the finished texture I wanted. I was impressed with their integrity in calling me back and also realized that Donnelly is a company who really knows stucco and plaster.
Description of Work: I called Donnelly Stucco with a question on a job being performed by someone else.

Last summer, our neighbor's tree fell onto our house, ripped off the electrical box, and left us with a large hole in our stucco. Using Angie's List, we attempted in vain to find someone to (at the very least) give us an estimate. Multiple companies came out to the house and not a single one followed up with their promised bids. MONTHS of desperate calling went by. We now know it was likely because our project was "small" in their eyes - little did they know how clueless we were and how desperate we were to have the gaping hole in our house fixed. It's fair to say we were almost willing to be taken advantage of. Ultimately, we did a google search and found Edward Donnelly. Ed came out promptly and gave us an extraordinarily fair bid. We arranged to have the work done and it was completed quickly and professionally. Stucco is a multi-step process and Ed completed all steps without us having to hound him in any way. The "patch" texture blends in great with the rest of the exterior wall. Ed walks on water as far as I'm concerned.
Description of Work: A large hole in our stucco was patched and retextured. New insulation was added to a portion of the home's framing before the exterior wall was fixed.
