Description of Work: We had our asphalt driveway removed and replaced, as well as our concrete sidewalk removed and replaced. A drain was added from our downspout under the sidewalk. Our initial consult with Shelley went well. They weren't the cheapest, not the most expensive either. I went with them because they really seemed to know what they were doing and how to fix our crumbling apron. We were told, because of our clay, it was possible they'd have to dig deeper and add a layer of fabric (as one of the other 3 companies mentioned when they gave their extimate). They came out as scheduled, on time, and were friendly and knowlegdeable. I loved this crew of guys! A crew of experienced guys. Of course they said I had a problem and kept digging and added fabric and more back fill. Installation went great. However, the new driveway was way higher than the old one - up to 10 inches in spots. Yes, my driveway went straight into the garage now rather than the big bump I had before, but I thought they'd slope it more so it was only higher at the top. Therefore I had to pay for 20 tons of extra fill to build it back up after they dug, and now I had to pay to have dirt hauled in to build my yard back up to my driveway (on my own - they did not offer this service). Our bill was much higher than I expected! I did call them to question this because it seems like they could have just used less fill and not had it so high and saved me some money. Shelley came back out and explained why - but still don't know if I'm sold as to why. She did have someone come back and raise the drain after I pointed out that it was too low seeing as I had to build up my yard to meet the driveway (we would have buried their drain)- if making the driveway so high was standard, wouldn't they have installed the drain higher knowing I was going to have to build up my yard? So, even though I did expect to pay more - I was extremely surprised by how much more. If you go with Earth Wizards - get the how much more total in writing (we did have it in writing - but it was how much a sq ft or whatever and it was never made to sound like it would be thousands, but never was told it would be 20 tons more)- get a cap (or at the very least an actual concrete number) on the how much more.

Description of Work: They conferred with a tree specialist who takes care of the trees in our woods and sides of a long driveway to be sure they did not compromise their well-being. When a small portion of the asphalt dimpled and two small holes appeared, their first attempt to repair it resulted in an ugly surface; they responded to my call and spent much time restoring the surface. I was so impressed. The cost of their service is higher than other companies I contacted, but the results are well worth the quality of work and service.

Description of Work: They dug up a large area of brush, including several Raspberry bushes; transplanted a shrub; leveled and then sodded that section of our yard. The owner was very responsive, professional and efficient. They completed the whole job in just two days. Our yard looks fantastic!

Description of Work: I signed a contract and made down payment for driveway overlay to be done next Spring as weather permits. Company representative inspected my driveway and was very responsive to my questions and concerns about what I wanted in the job. So far, so good.

Description of Work: We got 4 bids on laying tar on our huge gravel/dirt driveway. Earth Wizard's bid was mid-range and included all the "specs" we were expecting. Work was finished within our timeline - even with all the rain and road weight restrictions. Professional, friendly crew with the expertise we were looking for - no shortcuts were taken. Very satisfied and would highly recommend Earth Wizards, Inc for the job!

Description of Work: i ws quoted 1 price and then given another i selected them because on there estimate they covered something every one else missed but to be hit with 1400 more usd was to much will never use them again and will send everyonne i know to someone else

Description of Work: We had a seriously degraded circular driveway. Shelly Skow came out and gave us a thorough understanding of the necessary work involved to replace our entire driveway. Her estimate was significantly less than the three other vendors, none of whom began to give our situation the detailed attention that Shelly did. She is an absolute delight, personally and professionally. Prior to the beginning of the work, the company owner, Gary, came out several times to make certain that every detail would be addressed. We were so impressed to see him laboring over the hot asphalt as his team laid it down. He insisted on perfection from his folks, and he came back two or three times after the job was complete to make certain that we were entirely satisfied. Let me say straight out: if you have an asphalt project, you have to talk to the good folks at Earth Wizards. You will get nothing but professionalism with a friendly face, and a very fair price.

Description of Work: Shelly called me back promptly and came out to do an estimate within a reasonable amount of time. She was very friendly and professional. She spent a lot of time with me trying to get the idea of just what I wanted. She has had several good suggestions for design. I was impressed with her conscientiousness and willingness to work with me. I ended up going with another contractor because of cost but would consider Earth Wizards again for other projects based on my contact with Shelly.

Description of Work: Took all information to provide an estimate, never called to schedule. Was hoping to work with this company based on prior reviews, but they disappointed with a lack of professionalism from the start.

Description of Work: Our driveway needed sealcoating and a swale repair so it drained properly. I had Earth Wizards come out and come us a bid, along with two other companies. We decided to go with another contractor since Earth Wizards was 2 1/2 times as much in price for the work. I also had them bid a small aggragate concrete wash and seal, and they where three times the price. I believe they would have done a good job; Shelly was easy to work with for the bid, but at more then double the price I just couldn't justify the increased cost.
