It went really well. Mike was great and VERY thorough, which is exactly what you want! He has several years experience working construction prior to becoming an inspector and it showed when he discussed his findings with us. We wouldn't hesitate to hire him again!

I found the inspector engaging and experienced. I felt at ease with his manner and I learned from him. I learned a lot of things that I would have never figured out on my own which were sometimes obscure and sometimes obvious. One small oversight discovered by Truth in Housing inspector was the over flow pipe in toilet tank was to high. I consider that a small mistake, but no one is perfect.

We received his name from our realtor, and after the bad experience we had with an inspector we found in the phone book 7 years ago, we thought we would give him a try. He was very prompt when returning phone calls and was very willing to work around our schedule. All I did was give him the property address and we arranged a time to meet there. Before the meeting he spent a couple hours walking around the house. Checked all the outlets, climbed up and looked at the roof, moved all the drop ceiling tiles to inspect, and found some really tiny stuff we were surprised he caught. When doing the walkthrough with him at the end, he was very helpful with letting us know what he thought pricing was for items (like roughing in a basement bathroom), told us which walls were load bearing, and if a couple projects we were thinking of doing were possible. He was patient with all the questions. A couple hours after the meeting, he sent the report to us and our realtor to review. He found some major issues (mainly with the roof that weren't visible from the ground) that caused us to change our offer on the house. If we do not get this house, we plan to use him again on our next one.
