Description of Work: Built planting beds, install paver edges, and planted the beds with plants to his design. Prune and cut back perennials; general landscape clean up. Fence and gate repairs. Gutter and downspout repairs.

Description of Work: Dave has completed various jobs for us for the last 4 years at our home and business property. He has: completed a beautiful patio, landscaping, handyman jobs.

Description of Work: Removed existing brick walkway, rebuilt and regraded underlayment and restored walkway following original brick pattern.

Description of Work: We used Dave’s Landscape Services. He did landscaping for me, built a pool with a waterfall and built a retaining wall. He was here last Fall and took the pump out of my pool and bring it inside. I have to call him today because the pool needs to be started again.

Description of Work: Dave came out to give me an estimate for a paver walkway with perennials, and a fence around my front door area.

Description of Work: He has been working for me since the summer of 2008. He has repaired a retaining wall, completely rebuilt the picket fence on top of the retaining wall, continued the retaining wall to the front of the property, built another retaining wall in the front yard, made a terraced garden, and replaced the posts that hold up the main beam in the basement. In 2009, he did brick side walks for me, built a section of fence, and moved a tree for me. In 2012, he put in a water feature. This past summer, he rebuilt a brick sidewalk and redid the drainage on that side of the house.

Description of Work: Dave came and discussed our landscaping project with us and helped us determine which shrubs needed to be replaced and which ones could be saved, helped us find a good location to plant a tree and determine what type of tree would be best in the location, and helped us plan a small patio. When he removed the shrubs we wanted to replace and began installing the patio stones, it became clear that our downspout and sump pump hose both draining out in the area where we wanted the patio was going to be a problem, so Dave came up with a new drainage solution that rerouted both pipes underground, improving the appearance of the area and getting the water away from the house. The patio was installed and the rest of the work (putting in the new shrubs and tree and doing some pruning) will be done in the spring.

Description of Work: We've been working with Dave for nearly a decade now, and we have the front and back yards to show for it. Dave's completed his landscaping on both our side vegetable garden (where he replenished gravel and extended the height of our planting boxes) and front yard, and his work will be complete when he installs two new storm doors exiting onto our deck. He's truly a master of landscaping and handyman services. In the front yard, Dave prepared the ground and laid bricks to contain a small garden under our maple tree. He also dug and prepared (this time with wood borders) two small boulevard gardens. My hectic summer travel schedule didn't allow me to accompany Dave to purchase the perennials this time; such trips with Dave inevitably teach me something about plants and soil that I didn't know before, and he's so very patient I weigh an overwhelming number of options. Still, he was more than willing to consult before I purchased my own plants, and gave me some very good advice; he always does. Dave was recommended to me years ago by a friend who was mightily impressed, and I've since recommended Dave to others. All of us, to a person, remain loyal customers of Dave's Landscape Services. As for the price, I don't know how Dave pays the bills; over the years, I've even urged him to charge more, so personable and professional are his services, and so magical the results. One more thing: During the winter months when the ground is frozen, Dave also tackles "home repairs" (e.g., replacing or refinishing woodwork, minor repairs, garage door installations), and he's every bit a professional, skilled, and helpful. And he's a reader and never fails to recommend a good book when I ask him to. We'll never work with anyone else, inside or outside the house.

Description of Work: Revitalized an existing section of landscaping around my home. Removed unwanted growth, pruned existing bushes and hedges, installed edging and replaced mulch.

Last year, when Dave did a substantial overhaul on our shady back yard, we decided to try laying mulch in a section of the yard, hoping that our 90-pound Akita wouldn't scatter it to kingdom come. He did, unfortunately, so this year we decided to replace the patch of mulch with cobble stones to make a small patio. Dave placed the old mulch in existing beds, dug out and graded the soil for the placement of gravel, sand, and cobble stones, dug two "wells" to collect run-off for our large silver maple, and laid the stones. He also spread #2 gravel on our driveway and along a path from the house, around our deck, and into the backyard.

On top of that, he built a small wooden fence to hide our unsightly air conditioning unit.

Description of Work: DAVE REMOVED TWO LILAC BUSHES NEAR A GARAGE AND RELANDSCAPED THE AREA. HE ALSO RELANDSCAPED AN AREA AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE HOUSE TO PREVENT WATER SEEPAGE IN THE BASEMENT.
