My tuck-under garage had only 1 inch of clearance between the top of door (when open) and the ceiling. I didn't think that the opener could be installed. The new tracks lowered the garage door approx. 1 1/2 inches, gaining the space required for the opener. It was a tight fit, but Rob got the job done. Rob, my installer, was on time, courteous and professional.

I called and was unsure whether I needed a replacement door or they could fix the damaged one, which was bent and not operating smoothly. They sent someone out the next day. He tried temporarily bracing it after telling me it probably wouldn't work, but it would not operate because the panels were too buckled. There was no charge for this visit, and we were given a price to replace the door and the work was scheduled. Within 2 days the installer came with the new door and at that time I requested that he also swap a panel from the old door to our other door which had some slight damage. He agreed to take the extra time to do this for a reasonable charge. He did the work well, was easy to get along with, cleaned up after himself, and I paid by check. The doors work fine.

My initial call to Custom Door Sales was answered by a friendly and helpful rep. She listened to my description of the problem, and confirmed my diagnosis of a failed gear. She quoted $150 for the repair and promised to dispatch someone the next day. The next day, the technician called promptly and arranged for a service window between 1200-1400. On the day of service, Dave arrived with all the necessary equipment. We inspected the unit and he listened to my description of the issues. Since the unit was 15 years old (something I didn't know), I asked if it was worth repairing. Dave was very "low pressure" and did not try to upsell me; he simply said, "Some people choose to, others don't." Given that I'll be in this house for at least 5 years, I decided to replace it with a belt-drive model---a model I had researched on the company's website and Dave had along with him. The removal of the old unit and the new install took under an hour, as promised.

GREAT! They were able to come out the same day that I called, which happened to be Halloween. I was so relieved that the door could be closed before the trick or treaters came out. The price they quoted on the phone is the price I paid and I think they did more than was "required". They went the extra mile.

I had a very poor experience with them. I had trouble getting an appointment. My garage door wouldn't shut, it would open but it wouldn't shut. The technician came out we talked it through he did routine maintenance and he couldn't think of anything else to do, which was fine. Maybe that's the way it is. When it's below zero it won't shut is evidently the end of the story. I had trouble in early December and he came out then, I had trouble again in early February, all I wanted was to talk by phone to the technician. They wouldn't arrange that and I kept calling and calling and they never got back to me. Eventually I made an appointment for someone to come out, a different person to look at it and they didn't show up, I had to call again and somebody came out, I think it was just one of their installation people.

Custom Door Sales installed new garage doors 9 months ago, but one of the safety sensors was never fastened properly. We lived with it until the day we found that the wire was cut and the garage door wouldn't go down. I called, got the installation manager right away, and he said someone would be out the next business day. The technician was there before noon, replaced the sensor and the wire, bolted the bracket properly, and stapled the wire out of the way so it would not get severed again. No charge, no questions asked, no doubts about recommending them!

I was referred to Custom Door Sales by another company that was outside my geographic district. He mentioned that he thought they had a sale. Not only did they have a sale, Custom Door Sales quoted a lower price on a heavier duty (3/4 horse vs. 1/2 horse) garage door opener. Not only that, they threw in an external security touch pad opener, a laser sensor that helps you park your car right where you want it (i.e. so you don't hit a wall), an indoor light receiver that can be turned on from your car, and an indoor alert that tells you that your garage door has been left open. They installed the external security touch pad opener and assured me the other three features would be easy for me to set up. Overall, my experience with Custom Door was excellent. They were responsive, courteous, and much more affordable than some of the other, highly rated garage door companies on Angie's List.

It seemed difficult for them to get us in touch with the right rep at first. But once we got ahold of her, she was friendly, courteous, gathered all the information she needed quickly, and was able to provide a quote onsite. Good price for doors and openers that fit our needs and budget. They were able to schedule installation at our convenience as soon as the doors arrived, and the installers did the job competently even though we have a challenging tuck-under garage. Only one small complaint, one safety eye was not installed solidly, so it occasionally moves and causes the door to misbehave.

I DID GET INFO FROM ANGIE'S LIST ON CUSTOM DOOR SALES, AND ON OLE & LENA'S SERVICE. WE HAVE USED OLE & LENA'S TWICE BEFORE.

I FELT THAT THE INSTALLER, KEITH, WAS COURTEOUS AND PROFESSIONAL. HE HADN'T QUITE FINISHED WHEN I HAD TO LEAVE AT THE END OF THE DAY, BUT CAME BACK THE NEXT MORNING TO FINISH UP. THAT NIGHT WE TESTED THE DOORS, AND WE COULD TELL A COUPLE THINGS WERE OFF. HE FIXED THEM RIGHT AWAY THE NEXT MORNING. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

WE HAVE USED THEM SEVERAL TIMES FOR GARAGE DOOR REPAIR. ALWAYS VERY PROMPT AND REASONABLY PRICED. I HAVE BEEN VERY SATISFIED WITH THEM.
