Jim Kosloski came out to evaluate any damage that our roof may have incurred during the big hail storm this spring, and to give us an estimate for roof repair. Jim was not influenced by the many roofing contractor signs on our street, and went up on the roof to do a close up inspection. He reported that the damage was minor due to the quality of the architectural shingles and that immediate repairs were not necessary. He did give us a ballpark estimate for shingle replacement, which was exactly what our insurance company had given us for the damage. (We did not share the insurance adjuster's evaluation or damage estimates prior to hearing what Jim had to say). I really appreciated Jim's honesty and professionalism, as he did not stoop to the level of "storm chaser" trying to line up unnecessary jobs.

My experience with them was they were really good. We didn't go with them because they ended up being kind of expensive. They were punctual when they came to give the estimate.

It was a good experience, but we had a couple of very minor issues. They were very friendly and good to be around. They did a very good job at not trying to trample my garden. They did accidentally break a window, but they were good at getting it replaced. They were pretty reasonably priced.

We got a quote from Craftsmen in the spring. Due to storm damage jobs that they had at the time, we were told that the job would not be done until August, which was acceptable to us. When August rolled around things started happening. The stainer came out to get a sample of our existing woodwork. The installation portion of the job took a little over a week and the results are excellent. They did not leave a mess and everything completely met our expectations.

From my perspective these are some of the reasons to consider Craftsmen: one can communicate directly with the owner, their field reps are very professional, they do not add on crews when a hail storm passes through, and their pricing was competitive. I chose another contractor because I had specific scheduling needs. I would not hesitate to use Craftsmen for any future roofing work.

After a couple of trees came down, one on my house, I got several quotes for repair work and a new roof. Jim came out to do an estimate and I immediately felt comfortable with how he talked about what would need to be done and how the company worked. I was especially impressed that he did not jump onto the bandwagon of trying to make my insurance company pay for everything (as they had offered to pay for half the roof, which is all that was damaged). Since I was 2-5 years away from needing a new roof anyway, I opted to replace the whole thing and pay the balance. I needed to leave for work before Jim did his inspection and estimate, and came home to find his estimate along with a nice note saying he'd found a hole and patched it so I wouldn't have any problems with water before the roof was replaced. That cinched the deal! Then, all along the way Joan was so wonderfully communicative about what would happen and when and kept in touch. Plus she was always a joy to talk with. The crew came out early on a Saturday morning and were friendly, courteous, and efficient. They were more than happy to answer my questions. On Monday they returned and finished up. They cleaned up the site wonderfully, and my new roof looks great! I am more than happy with this experience and the value I received for my money.

After they replaced the roof and gutters a delivery driver hit a corner of the roof. They came out and wrote up a bid and replaced a section of the down spout without being asked. They worked really nicely with the insurance company.

We really thought the installer for the windows was great. He was very particular with his work. The siding and gutters were done by another crew, again it was in the middle of December, cold and snow, it was a messy installation, but Dan was very good about following up in the Spring to ensure the clean up was completed. Dan's customer service is great.

They used a very high quality of siding for my house. The siding was installed with a foam backing. He used better material for the same price as the other guys that I received estimates from.

I wasn't happy about a few things. They took a part my fence and didn't put it back. They left cigarette butts around. The crew did not pick up all there nails. They did help me out with a few other things.

Called and spoke with Dan. We needed exterior screens installed. He explained that they install full windows, not just screens. He then took the time to explain how we need to proceed, finding the window manufacturer and eventually ordering the correct screens. Also offered to assist if there were future issues regarding our new windows.

It's been great. Communication is key, and they have been on time and have been very pleasant to deal with. They can also do it within my insurance company's quote.

I was very pleased, but have decided to hold off on the project for now.

Dan was professional from the start. He had a project manager meet me to review the work I needed done and provided an estimate. Once I accepted, Dan kept in touch as he scheduled the various parts of the project- supplies dropped off, dumpster delivered, crew starting. The crew was punctual and amazingly fast. They did a great job and spend time concentrating on details like putting out tarps to protect my plants and to catch as much debris as possible. After picking up the debris, they even ran around the house with a magnet on a wheels to pick up nails. I think I was able to find barely a handful of nails left and most of these were wedged into areas where they were not dangerous. The house looks great, the work was done quickly. What's not to like??

Extremely happy with the work and very professional we were home 2 days a week so they worked around my son's naptime. They estimated taking one week ended up taking two because extra work for the trim. They stuck to the estimate and did everything possible to keep it to two weeks and it's beautiful no one could of done a better job. Really listened to what we wanted to get out of the project and they made it happen.

The crew supervisor was very responsive and professional. He explained the process thoroughly. They had the job done in the time they estimated. They were prompt to call me back and to come out for the estimate. They mailed it to me in a timely manner. I will use them again for work in the future.

They were very timely and professional. They showed us all the pictures and were tidy with their work. We would definitely recommend them to someone else.

Erik, the sales representative was friendly, professional, and enthusiastic about the quality of Craftsman's products. He explained what to look for in a good window, and was willing to answer questions that came up after we had other companies provide us with estimates. Their estimate was a bit higher than others, but the Angie's List discount made it comparable. We did have some confusion over the proportions of one window (split in half vs. 1/3 of the way up). We ended up accepting the window the way it was ordered, since a structural issue made our preference impossible. I would recommend going over all windows on what exactly you expect for each one, in order to avoid this kind of issue, and making sure the representative knows to contact you in the event they cannot order a window the way you expected. The installation took 3 days, and the crew cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day. We are very happy with our new windows.

We did not go with Craftsman for the roof (choosing instead a contractor in the neighborhood), although we were very impressed. We are planning another, larger project soon, and hope to work with Craftsman on it.

They were always out right on time. They were very pleasant to work with. They are the nicest group of workers I have ever dealt with. We recommended them to two our neighbors we liked them so much. They were so polite, professional, clean and on time it was so nice. It was a pleasurable experience. Their cost was very reasonable and competitive. They were very clean and never left even a nail of trash. I would never be able to tell that they were here.

Craftsman Home Improvements is by far the best contractor I have ever used. Every part of the process went so smoothly that getting a new roof was actually a pleasure. My first meeting with Craftsman began with the salesman, Jim, who was not merely selling me a roof, but treated me like an old friend. After paying an initial down payment, I chose a roof color, and a date was scheduled. The owner even called me personally to tell me that Matt would be supervising the job, and that Matt was his best employee. Everything went like clockwork. Equipment was delivered, and placed on the street so as not to damage my driveway. On the date of the roofing, employees covered my paver walkway to prevent any damage. I did not need to ask whether the vents were replaced, or if the aprons had put on the gutters, or stand and observe the employees. There were no runs to the store to buy supplies in the middle of the job..Craftsmen came prepared. Matt and his crew worked non-stop all day and had the new roof on by the time my husband returned home from work. The neighbors thought the process was magical! Craftsmen employees are truly masters of their craft. My roof and my home is now better than new since Craftsmen added five new attic vents to ensure no moisture would form. Before leaving, employees picked up nails and roofing, and even cleaned the windows! The only litter on my neighbor s lawn at the end of the day was a flyer from a fast-food restaurant! After the job was completed, Joan called to check and make sure everything had gone well. From beginning to end, Craftsman surprised us, going above and beyond our expectations. We are delighted with our new roof and feel like we have gained new friends in the process. We recommend Craftsmen without reservation, and would not hesitate to call them again in 30 years when we need a new roof.

The work was done very neatly and the clean-up was awesome, they did more than they had to. They are very pleasant people to work with, they respected my wishes and property and I would definitely use them again.

We called Craftsmen based on their rating on Angie's List. We also had a bid from another company. The prices were the same but Craftsmen had a better product (7" insulted compared to 4" non-insulated vinyl). Craftsmen delayed work at our request because of our vacation, but started promptly the week after our return. We decided after the work started we wanted a narrower window trim. They agreed with no problem but we did have to pay a restocking fee. The workman were very efficient, sometimes working to 9 o'clock at night. They were also very neat and kept the back and front yards clean of debris. One of the screens was ripped during the work; we were not even aware of the tear, but the foreman saw it and had the screen replaced. The job was finished in 4 days. After the work was completed we saw one area were there was a small gap between siding and corner. I called Craftsmen and it was promptly fixed. We were pleased and we have received many compliments from the neighbors both on the look of the house and the efficiency of the work crew.

The estimate from Craftsmen was quite high, but the salesperson (Eric) was refreshingly not hard sell. He was candid and responsive--and patient with me as I had to reprioritize my goals for the project over the next several weeks. (An aside: I got lower estimates from a couple of others, including for vinyl windows and doors from the hardware store, but the salesperson was so hard sell, and at one point so offensive (he suggested that I consult with my boyfriend, who was elsewhere in the house at the time, about accepting his bid; my "boyfriend" doesn't live here, and the hardware store guy knew it), that I will never again make the mistake of bringing them into my home.) The installation folks were wonderful, and prompt, and reliable, and they did a terrific job. They left the house clean and orderly. Bottom line: you get what you pay for with these guys. Well worth the price. I am very, very happy with the work.

I was involved in a roof non-disclosure issue and needed an assessment of past workmanship and estimates for repairs for arbitration purposes. I called Dan to explain my problem. Due to recent storm damage they were extremely busy but he took time to accommodate me even though I couldn't hire them to to the work right now. I just needed an honest assessment and estimate. Jim K. came out and did a very thorough job of inspecting and explaining problems to me. He found some shingles that had been improperly nailed and were leaking. Knowing I couldn't do the repair work immediately he offered to re-nail and caulk them to prevent further damage. Since his caulk gun was handy he also fixed a broken window trim for me. It was a pleasure dealing with him. I would definitely hire them to do the work once things are settled. I called the right company for sure - can't say enough about their customer service.
