We picked several highly rated roofers from Angie's List, but only Craftsmen said they could do the job before winter of 2008-2009. The other roofers were too busy. For this reason, I didn't rate the price quote because we had no other bids to compare to. We found Jim of Craftsmen to be responsive and reachable. Also, Craftsmen employs a person, Joan, to be the main contact for all issues. She was very helpful and responded quickly to every question and issue. I wish every contractor would have a contact person like this. Because this was an insurance job, we had a very long delay waiting for the overloaded appraiser to assess our house and agree to the contractor's proposal. It also took a while to get the final check. Craftsmen was very patient throughout all of this, and still got the job done before winter. It looks very nice and we are happy with it.

Last year we noticed some spotting between the window paines. I called Dan and he informed me that the manufacuturer has some issues and he would order replacements right away. The new window paines arrived and were installed free of charge. Recently I noticed couple of windows with the same problem. Once again I notified Craftsmen and the new windows have been ordered. Over the years, I have hired Craftsmen for other smaller jobs, ie gutters and wrapping a glass block window. Every time the job was done to my complete satisfaction at a fair price. Not only does Craftsmen Home Improvements do a great job, more importantly they stand by their work. That is the sign of a great company, and I know Craftsmen Home Improvements are a great company and I would not hesitate to recommend them to a friend or use them again.

I got three quotes. Two were similar in price and one was way high. I went with Craftsmen because they did the most thorough job inspecting and estimating so I knew exactly what to plan for. They were very professional with three to four in the working crew. The foreman worked right along with the rest. I only took two days to do the roof. They cleaned up the site very well and we are very pleased with the look of our new roof.

They started very quickly and got a new roof on in late fall. We'd been having leaking, so it was really appreciated. The gutters were installed a few weeks later. The fascia repair had been forgotten but wasn't causing any problems. Work was delayed a few months until the spring thaw but they stayed in touch with us and got to it as soon as the weather allowed.

We didn't see it, but our neighbors said it was a flurry of activity as they did most of the roofing project with a large crew in only one day. The gutters were done about a week later. My only complaint is that I'm still finding little bits of debris on my lawn, so they could have been cleaner about their work. Their office staff was great to work with in planning the project.

Really spectacular job. Jim and Tom, the installers were fine craftsmen - the quality of work you would see done on "This Old House". They were perfectionists in making sure every aspect of the job was done with excellence. They both have been doing windows for 20+ years each, so they are experienced with how to do them correctly. They also took the time to do a lot of extras that I don't think most contractors would do: They noticed that my exterior shutters were not installed very securely. So rather than rehanging them the way they found them, they asked me if I wanted them secured into the brick. This involved doing a lot of extra work for each and every shutter (36) but they did not charge me anything extra. They were also meticulous about repairing any surfaces that were affected by the removal of the windows, (such as tile work). They worked neatly, cleaning up inside and in the garage after each day's work. They also were very understanding when I wanted to change my trim work from what I had originally ordered. I had heard about a different kind that I felt would be better and I expected them to give me a hard time about it...given that I was changing my mind right in the middle of the installation. They could not have been more accommodating. Their attitude was basically..."we can do that". Tom even helped me locate a lumber shop that carried the kind of trim I wanted and he ordered it himself. They did not charge me any kind of re-stocking fee for the original trim work...they didn't say "that will cost you extra". We just credited the trim not used and they adjusted the bill for any difference in the cost of the materials. - Even though the trim I ended up using required more custom fitting and cutting on Jim and Tom's part. Also, I felt very comfortable having Tom and Jim around. They were trustworthy good guys who I would hire again in a instant. Oh and the windows look and work beautifully. I am already saving on heating costs...no kidding. And these are some very big windows. The house is warmer and less drafty. I keep the thermostat much lower since the installation. I can compare these windows to the windows installed in the back of my house done by one of the premier building contractors in the TC. (They put a large addition onto the back of my house 8 years ago.) Even though the brand of the addition's windows have the same high-quality rating, there must be a difference in the quality of the installation because those windows do not keep the cold out nearly as well as my new windows done by Jim and Tom. And I thought they were perfectly fine until I saw how efficient my new windows are. So.....the quality is not just in the materials, but the installation as well.

They came on time, they took away the old garage door and put in the new one and they cleaned up after themselves.

While there were some weather frustrations, Dan Bydlon (owner) was fantastic through the entire process. He kept us informed and the workers were diligent in completing the work in a reasonable time frame. There are always frustrations, but no major issues occurred. Any item I brought up was resolved with incredible timliness. Dan Bydlon has remarkable phone/voicemail etiquette and returned calls within an hour and was always informative

They were worked according to the schedule they set and worked quickly. I don't have any complaints about the quality of the roof. They also replaced the soffit, there, I thought they could have done a little better job in a couple places. After discussing this with them, they came back and corrected the problem at no cost.

They were very good and excellent. They were very prompt and professional. The detail was excellent. They told me a problem I had on the roof with the vents and fixed that for me. They worked hard and cleaned up very well. The workers did not mess around nor did they play loud music.

I can't imagine having a better experience with a contracter. The communication and follow up was excellent. I knew exactly what to expect. Their professionalism was beyond my expectations. Compared to the other companies I worked with...I was much more at ease with Craftsmen from the get go. Because of several layers of bureacracy created by my mortgage company, the process to complete payment involved several steps. I was clear in my communications with Craftsmen and kept them updated. They were very understanding and patient and promptly responded to my requests for documentation to complete the payment process. They asked for honest feedback on how the crews performed and wanted everything to be out in the open. The city inspector had a different interpretation of venting code, and Craftsmen very quickly made the adjustments to comply. I would recommend Craftsmen 7 days a week and twice on Sunday!!

They did a good job. They were very helpful. The thing I liked best about them was their honesty. I made a couple changes to the work and they did it right away. They did a super job! I would absolutely hire them again, no question.

As I said, this could not have been a better experience for us. I felt the price was very good even before I learned what great guys they are and the high quality of work they do.

We found this company on Angie's List-thanks!! Dan and Jim seemed fair, professional, and treated us like we'd known them forever. During this project, we ran into a couple of glitches and they went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. For example, we got a beautiful new front door and they replaced the outer(storm)door, which had been full view, with a partial view door. We called this to their attention and they replaced the partial view with a full view within a week. Our front awning was damaged by hail, and we and they couldn't find a replacement. So they had an expert painter repaint it and it looks as good as new. Their workmanship was excellent, they cleaned up well after themselves, and they respected our landscaping. All the different crews were friendly and easy to work with. They kept us informed of dates of arrival of materials, delivery of materials, and actual work dates. They even provided low-interest financing for the doors(which were not covered by insurance). They advised us of the product showroom they would buy our replacement materials from, so we could go there and pick out what we wanted. We would use them again for any similar projects, with complete confidence they would do a great job!

They were timely and complete in giving the bid. They frequently initiated contact to update the schedule and let me know what to expect. They performed the work quickly and well. They did a very good job of cleaning up.

Our neighbor used Craftsmen when they replaced their roof, sidings and windows in 2005. We saw the quality of their work and by the time that we need to replaced our roof in September 2005, we asked our neighbor who do their roofing and they told us Craftsmen Home Improvement and they highly recommend this company. We had first used Craftsmen in September 2005 when they did our roofing. When our home suffered damage due to the hail storm last May, we called Craftsmen right away. Eric called within a couple of days, met with the insurance adjuster at my home and help us to understand on how to process claim with insurance company. Eric noticed rotten woods at the base of our windows and he suggested to replace it to avoid further damage. He suggested materials to used and explained to us the advantage of using it. The job was originally scheduled in the middle of October and we requested to do it earlier because we have visitors coming in the first week of October. Dan made it possible and they started the job in the middle of September and finished it before the end of the month. The sidings, roofing, patio door and windows were done almost the same time. Dan was great at calling, updating and setting up times. The workers they used were all very professional and did quality work. It was nice to talk the window installer Jim and Tom. It was also nice to know Tom's wife Kim who do the staining part for the windows and answering our tons of questions in relations to staining. There was a very minor damage in the properties but Dan take care of it with proper communications with us and we really understand it. The other Jim checked the work done and make some finishing touches. We was so impressed with their professionalism and craftsmanship. They did not leave a mess and everything completely met our expectations.

Very well. The office staff handled all phases of the project well, with a lot of communication. The workers they used were all very professional and did quality work. Throughout the process, they helped with the process of working through the insurance company, and they made sure the whole process went well. We were especially impressed that they stopped taking work when their schedule got full from the hailstorms of 2008, so that they could focus on maintaining quality - as opposed to signing up all they could. Also for us we had severe damage, so the company worked to move us up in the schedule, since we had holes in the siding, as opposed to a regular replacement.

I think it says a lot when employees are with a company for many years. Hopefully, my home won't be hit again, but it is nice knowing Craftsmen will be able to fix the damage.

I felt very comfortable working with Craftsmen. They were always professional and service oriented. There was a miscommunication about what I wanted for part of the siding, but it was quickly resolved to my satisfaction as soon as I brought it up. The workmanship was excellent, the crews professional, and they cleaned up after themselves, which is more than can be said for many crews I have seen in my neighborhood. I would definitely use this company for more work in the future.

I cannot say enough good things about Dan Bydlon and Craftsman Home Improvement. After a hail storm, craftsman re-shingled the roof. The quality of their work is excellent; the crew was professional, showed up on time, cleaned up after the work. Dan Bydlon (Pres) was great to work with helping to marshall the needed paper work through the insurance company, keeping me informed and to progress and schedule. Top notch job from what I think is a top notch company!

Craftsmen had installed 6 windows for us a year earlier, so this was an additional 3 windows of the same type in the same area. Eric also discussed with us a different type of hardware to match the age of our home. Great suggestion because we love the spoon hardware.

This is the company we most likely will use. They have good service so far. They were prompt in getting back to us and thorough in their research of my options for replacing the patio door.

Arrived on the appointed day, finished the work in one day. Cleaned up well.

It went very well. There were a couple of very minor things that were overlooked. But their clean up was great, their communication was great, and it seems like the quality will hold up. When we called them about the caulking issue that was overlooked they came right out and fixed it no questions asked. They also offered to come out in a couple months to look at it again. They weren't the cheapest, but it was definitely worth it.
