Dan at Craftsmen kept in touch with us by telephone from beginning to end. He always kept us informed of when someone would be arriving, checked to make sure the job was going smoothly, and followed up when all was finished, etc. Jim and his crew performed the work. Jim is an absolute pleasure to work with; he's intelligent, polite, on time, explains things well, listens, keeps us informed and has a wealth of knowledge on house construction, repairs, etc. Everything was done quickly, they were on time, respected our house, kept everything clean, etc. Coincidentally, Jim had previously performed work for us on a few other projects when he was employed at a different place, and we were just as happy with his work then as we are on this insulation project. We will definitely use Craftsmen again and would highly recommend them to anyone for a multitude of projects, big or small.

What a wonderful contractor! They were professional, prompt, and did what they said they'd do. They provided me with clear verbal info backed up in writing and didnt pressure me to sign or commit. I took some time to research myself and found their quote included all he important features to solve my attic problms properly. So many contractors cut corners and figure no one will notice. They are a refreshing exception. They did a thorough job and they handled the rebte aperwork for me. Theie communication is top knotch. A rep called me to verify the appointmenyt the day before, they arrived on time, and a rep called me the day after to see if i was satisfied. I highly recommend them and will use them for future work. Finding this comany makes my Angie's a ggod buy. Oh they gave me an Angies List discount too

I have a 1919 1.5 story house typical for Minneapolis, which also means I have typical ice dams. I knew I needed more insulation, and a leak finally forced me to do something about it. Jim came out and described what they would do and how they would fix what the previous owner (and I) had neglected. CHI entered the roof through existing vents and added new fiberglass along the knee walls, blew in cellulose under attic floors, and sealed the bypasses to keep heated air inside, not under my roof. They added one new vent on one side of the house, and even adjusted their invoice because, once inside the roof, some areas were not as bad as they had suspected. They didn't have to do that, but it confirms my belief that Craftsmen Home Improvements is a great company to do business with. Every step of the way they were polite, on time, and totally professional. I almost wish I had more things for them to fix!

Craftsman Home Improvements was professional throughout. They came and estimated the project, on day of service updated me twice to let me know that they were running late, performed services exactly as contracted. Kept me informed throughout entire project.

This was triggered by extensive ice dam problem this winter, with eventual water spotting on living room ceiling. Angie's List coupon allowed us to purchase $500 worth of work for $100. Contractor also provided additional discount for Angie's List member. Called contractor who scheduled visit by estimator. Estimator was very thorough, discussed not only insulation but also probability that ceiling stains did not represent serious damage and described how to treat to avoid possibility of mold and retain new paint. That scenario was later investigated by insulation team who verified no permanent damage. Estimated emailed same day that estimator visited. Roughly 50% deposit was required and mailed in. An unexpected opening in contractor schedule allowed for quick scheduling of job. Insulation crew showed up when scheduled, prepared and did the job in a professional manner fairly quickly, and explained what they found and what they did. Very good clean-up. Final bill came in mail later, same amount as orginally quoted. They clearly said what they would and what it would cost. Then they did exactly what they said they would do for the price they quoted. This was a positive experience.

They did very well and gave a fair estimate. They had a set schedule, stuck to the schedule, and got it done quickly. They could have possibly done a better job of being proactive rather than myself having to contact them.

I don't remember how much I spent. They have really great customer service. They are very professional and very responsive. The only issue I had was with the type of windows they used. I have had trouble with the window they used. The weatherstripping kept coming off but whenever I called, they would come right out to fix it. I am not happy with the brand of windows they are using. The company itself and all their customer service are amazing. I do regret getting the windows replaced because it was a hassle. But I hate to badmouth the company because they were really responsive and great and professional. They seemed really good at their job.

The inspection part was free. We are waiting to get the bid and when we want to go ahead for the services. Nothing is done as of now. They were professional. They were very responsive. They were punctual. They were courteous and accommodating.

Working with Dan at Craftsmen was great. He had his crew come out as quickly as possible and made phone calls to keep me up to date on their exact arrival time. They came on a Thursday, late in the day and then returned Friday morning to finish. I was so pleased when a member of the crew knocked on the door to ask me how much of the roof I wanted to have ice dams removed. Since the main damage was on the front of the house, I asked that they focus on that area. So even though they didn't have to remove the ice from the back of the house, they still shoveled the snow. Made a huge difference and also reduced my hourly cost. I appreciated their clean up efforts, shoveling all the walkways and making it safe to get around. I'd hire them again. Great company that believes in good customer service and quality work.

My husband thought it was a little expensive but he really liked the representative. he thought he was very knowledgeable and will do a good job. We are hiring this company.

To me, they just don't want to deal with smaller jobs. The problem is that when I need to have my siding replaced, I'll probably go with the company I already have a relationship with from doing the repair. Just not good business.

I'm extremely impressed with the level of professionalism, courtesy and great work that Craftsman completed. The crew arrived on-time and did a great job. I was concerned with how expensive the work would be, but just received my invoice and was pleasantly surprised -- plus the Angie's List discount was great!

Fast response to request for quote. Offered great deal on materials. Performed work on schedule. Did an excellent job. Highly recommended.

What they did was very good. I did not have to pay for that work as that was covered. Overall, they did a great job.

Met with Eric the Estimator,he did a great job on the bid,recommended changes in roof venting,highly recommend! After much consideration of James Hardie siding,we decided it was not the fit for our home.Would definitely use in the future.

The owner, Dan, was extremely generous initially when I was undecided whether their coupon offer was going to work for me. After several emails back and forth he offered to refund my money if I was unable to use the coupon. Based on that, I bought the coupon deal and scheduled a time to have the attic inspected. Jim was also extremely kind and professional. He explained in detail what they would do and told me my options. He was very pleasant and helpful. I got a 2nd estimate that was close in price but the 2nd company was going to insulate the porch attic space too, which CHI hadn't planned to do and they were going to insulate the entire space to a higher R rating. I called Jim to tell him about the 2nd estimate and he offered to perform the same service for the same price. On the day the work was to be completed the work crew was nearly 2 hours late and they took much longer than I was told it would take but they were professional and took great care to leave my home clean, inside and out. Unfortunately, the didn't insulate the porch as we agreed even though I reminded the work crew leader that morning that they were supposed to do it as well. I called the Jim again to explain the situation, he apologized and had the crew back within 2 days to finish the job. They were late again but were professional, courteous, and tidy. I was disappointed that I had to call them to report the work hadn't been done as promised and it was quite frustrating dealing with their poor timeliness but everyone with the company was so courteous and apologetic that I ended up feeling good about the experience.

The company came when they said they would, worked quickly, cleaned up VERY well after themselves and did an excellent job. They also worked fro exactly the price they had quoted us! I would use them again without hesitation...I just hope I don't have to! :)

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Top-notch organization, very professional, excellent communicators. I worked with Jim (sales), Joan (project manager), and Matt (crew lead). They took my calls, answered my questions, managed my expectations, and worked with my insurance company and the city inspector. In all honesty, I would say that these people exceeded my expectations, and I can be a "tough customer".

Overall it went really well. Everyone we worked with (Dan, Jim and Matt) were very personable and they paid very close attention to detail and Matt (who was the lead on the interior insulation work) was very meticulous and did an exceptional job of respecting our house (putting down clean drop clothes to prevent mudding up our floors) to cleaning up any mess from the job - all these things were noticed and appreciated. I would highly recommend them. Dan also offered to come back out this spring with a metal detector to find and pick up any nails that may have fallen down into the snow during the work. How many companies would do that if you asked them?... and how many companies are willing to offer to do that without the customer even requesting it? Not many.

We got their name from Angie's list and bought THE BIG DEAL which was $500 worth of insulation for $150. Jim came and gave us an estimate. He was very professional and very friendly. The estimate was very fair and we opted to have the project completed Dan the owner is just super. He is always available..and extremely friendly and helpful. I would recommend this company to anyone requiring insulation installation. (That is our only experience with them, but I would not hestitate to use them for other areas of home improvements.)

Professional, nice folks, easy to deal with.

I called for an estimate and they were out very promptly. Everyone in town was trying to get windows replaced before the tax credit expired at the end of the year and I was concerned that I had waited too long to get started. They assured me that they would get it done for me and they did. The gentleman that came out for the estimate was very polite and took the time to answer all my questions. I wanted them to stain the new interior woodwork for me and they took a piece of trim with them to make sure of a good match. Once the windows arrived they sent someone out with some sample stains for me to see and approve of. When the windows were installed the men were very careful to close off the rest of the room to keep dust down to a minimum and to keep the house as warm as possible. They took down all my window treatments and replaced them when they were done. They cleaned up and vacuumed at the end of each day. My house was never a mess. The city has to inspect new windows and the installers mentioned to me that since 3 of the windows were in bedrooms the inspector might also be looking to see if I had smoke alarms in each bedroom, evidently that is a rule has come into effect since my house was built. I picked up a set of smoke alarms at Home Depot and they sent one of the guys back out to put them up for me at no charge. Sure enough I noticed the city inspector looking for alarms as he went through the house. The inspectors comment as he first looked at the windows sums it all up - "Wow, those are nice."

Jim came out and was absolutely wonderful. He spent so much time with me and showed me a few tricks to keep more cold air coming in my home. He answered all of my questions, was very polite and very nice. I actually didn't need any other insulation so he recommended I request a refund.
