I am very happy with their attention to detail, and service. I got several bids (5), and with the Big Deal Coupon, they were only a few dollars more than the lowest one. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to reduce utility bills. I was able to tell the difference immediately, as the house was more soundproof from exterior noise. I also was able to tell the insulation was making a big difference when it hit 90, and our upstairs was still 71 with everything closed, and we didn't even turn the air on. It was in the high 70's after days like this last year upstairs with all the windows closde and the air off. I would also recommend them for the Page Of Happiness award. The only reason I rated them a "B" on Punctuality, is due to the weather, beyond their control. The original job was done in 1 day.

Very smooth. Jim came out to look at the place, gave us some good info to inform our decisions and had a good bid. The work was done quickly, efficiently, effectively, and they cleaned up nice. We were very pleased. Several months later we had some dripping and asked them to come take a look. Jim came out and investigated and found that it was not connected to the roofing job but condensation. During the visit he noticed with his infrared gun that the insulation in the vaulted ceiling had slipped. He suggested that we bring them out in warmer weather to see what they could do to fix it. They came out in May to look at it from the top of the roof and couldn't get at it. They came out again to get at it from the soffits but still couldn't. Jim suggested we just let it be as the fix would far exceed the energy efficiency benefits. All this follow-up unrelated to work they hadn't done, came at no cost. Just friendly professional service. When we're ready for new windows and doors, we'll be calling them for sure.

Erik came out and provided a bid for our siding. He answered our questions knowledgeably and was very responsive with a polished presentation.

From the first time I met the staff from Craftsmen, I was impressed. They spent the time to talk with me and listen to what I hoped to be able to accomplish with my roof and 'built in' gutters. I really had no idea of what I was asking for. As it turns out, Craftsmen did! They took a good look at my roof ~ climed up and walked around on it ~ and gave me 2 different options/suggestions. They explained the difference between the two and their respective costs. I had a lot of questions about how they would modify the roof surface to eliminate the rusting out built in gutters and how they would attach free hanging gutters. They very patiently explained the process and made sure I was comfortable with the plan. The materials were placed in my yard exactly where I had requested them and the tearoff began in earnest within 24 hours. It wasn't more than 4 hours into the job when the housing inspector paid the worksite a visit and informed Craftsmen that my roof boards were too far apart [not up to Code] and that the entire house would need to be covered in plywood under layment! Craftsmen was back from the lumberyard within an hour with the additional materials and the job continued as if nothing ever happened....except my checkbook lost a little more weight! The work went incredibly smoothly and the 4 man crew worked with amazing speed, agility and precision. Just watching them exhausted me! The job foreman keep me up to date as the job progressed and I was impressed by his bringing water and Subway Sandwiches up to his crew as they were working. I was particularly fascinated with how they custom fitted the chimney saddle ~ that took a real specialist. A few days after the roof was complete, the gutter work was started and completed within about 4 or 5 hours I was told by my neighbors. I was at work so I missed this install. After the roof was completed and the gutters hung, I could not even tell there had been work done on my home. I never did find one single nail or piece of roofing embedded in the grass or gardens surrounding the house. I was particularly impressed when I "caught" the gutter foreman walking around the front of my house, on a Sunday afternoon, ON HIS OWN TIME, double checking the color I had chosen for the gutter and downspouts. He said he just wasn't sure I had gotten it right and sure enough, after taking another hard look at things, we changed the shade of white and now they match perfectly with the existing trim on the house. What a great catch by their man! I could not be happier with the work Craftsmen Home Improvements, Inc. did for me and how wonderful my home now looks. They even replaced several broken siding panels for me that were not part of the roofing job. They just wanted my home to look as good as possible after they had finished their work. The crew, the site foreman, the salesmen and even the president of the company (yes, I talked to Dan too!) were all simply the best. I am quite sure that whomever hires Craftsmen Home Improvements for their home remodeling projects, will be delighted with their work!!!! Truth be told, am planning on having them out to my home again this summer for another roofing project! They just don't know it yet. Unless they read this!!!

We chose Craftsmen to put a new roof on our home in September 2012 because the old roof was old and shingles were starting to curl. Jim Kosloski was very friendly and knowledgeable during the estimating process and explained everything. Their pricing was a little higher than competitors, but after Angie's List discount was very similar to the other quotes we received. We decided on Craftsmen in part because of their workmanship warranty being longer. Joan kept us apprised of schedule, etc, and walked us through what to expect on the day of the work. The crew arrived on time and got right to work in the morning. Joan emailed us a couple of updates during the day (we were home, but if we had been at work the updates are a nice touch). One of the delivery trucks leaked transmission fluid on our driveway - we didn't notice it ourselves, but Joan told us about it and arranged for it to be cleaned up the next day. Our yard was picked up and we didn't find any nails, etc afterwards. Then, six weeks after the new roof went on, we got hit by a freak November hailstorm. Rotten timing! I called Jim, who came out and looked at the roof and confirmed it had extensive damage but should be fine through the winter. He came back again when the insurance adjuster came out, so the two of them were able to talk directly and insurance cut us a check for another new roof. Once we got the insurance claim paperwork and sent it over to Jim, he caught the fact that the adjuster had mis-measured our roof so again the two of them talked directly to get the amounts straightened out. On the second roofing job, we also decided to replace our old leaky gutters (out of pocket since the gutters weren't covered by insurance) at the same time as the roof. Joan kept us apprised of schedule again, and got us in fairly early in the Spring season. The roofing experience was the same the second time around, and the gutter crew was similarly professional. This second time, a delivery truck missed the entrance to our driveway by a few feet and essentially dug a deep furrow with its tires through soft spring soil. I sent Joan pictures and explained my worry about our buried sprinkler head in that spot, and she sent it along to Dan, the president of the company. He called me directly a couple days later, apologized, and asked what he could do to make it right. He agreed that if we found that sprinkler head to be damaged, he would pay for repairs, and he also sent us several restaurant gift cards for the inconvenience. I find Craftsmen to be a professional company that does its best to give customers a good experience even when the problems are caused by their suppliers or other non-employees.

I purchased the big deal and it went well. I thought their price was a little high but the quality of the work was good. They were very helpful and knowledgeable. The lead guy on the project was great. He had good communication skills and told me what the span was. He told me what they were going to do and how long they were going to be there. The office staff that I worked with in terms of payment was great. I had no problems at all. They were higher priced than I would have liked to pay but the quality of work was worth paying the extra cost.

We had a very good experience with Craftsmen in 2007 when they replaced our siding with Hardie, replaced storm windows, and installed maintenance-free trim. Although we quoted the work in 2011-2012 with several companies also highly recommended on Angie's List, Craftsmen's bid was comparable and we were happy to give them our repeat business. We started by signing up for Craftsmen's special on insulation ($150 for $500 worth) after an independent energy audit revealed the need. We worked with Jim to identify the work needed, and at that point we concluded that the roof also needed replacing after only ten years due to product failure (not installed by Craftsmen). Jim advised us on the possibility (slim) of getting any compensation from the previous shingle manufacturer. He also revealed the fact that a better insulation solution would result if roof boards could be removed over one area of the attic, so it made sense to schedule the work on both roof and insulation to coincide. Sometimes "scope creep" on house projects is discouraging and makes you wonder if you've been had. In this case, nothing could be further from the truth. We not only saved money overall by combining the projects, but we feel we got a better result. Most impressive was the fact that Craftsmen was willing to extend the work over an eight month period in order to do the work at optimal times. We had part of the insulation installed in the fall of 2011 so we could see some improvement already during the following winter, and then Craftsmen returned in the spring of 2012 to complete the job. Matt Castillo was an excellent foreman on all phases of the work, which was completed timely with minimal disruption. Craftsmen staff kept in good communication with us throughout the project, and Joan in the office was especially helpful in working with us to complete the paperwork for the Centerpoint rebate. After a complete 2012-13 heating season, our gas bills this year showed an improvement in spite of the colder winter, and our house felt noticeably warmer. The roof install looks great and is performing well without any issues. The gutter work has given us better drainage and we noticed no ice dams this year. In summary: highly professional, fast work; fair price; great results. What more can you ask?

Our experience with Craftsmen Home Improvements couldn't have been better. From the first appointment to the estimate to scheduling, selecting materials, and completing the work- everyone along the line was professional, polite, on time, and a pleasure to work with. The price was right in line with other estimates, we chose Craftsmen because we liked the people so much. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone and will use them again in the future when we need to re-roof!

We initially called Craftsmen Home Improvements because we noticed insulation hanging down in an attic crawlspace. Jim Kosloski came to review the situation and provide an estimate. He noted that new insulation (with a better R value) would save energy costs, and a vapor barrier would prevent damage from moisture. We decided to have that insulation and vapor barrier installed. Jim was professional and responsive throughout the process; he emailed me back promptly each time I contacted him before he arrived to provide the service. He charged us for the exactly the amount of the original estimate. And the work was done well; aside from fixing the original detached insulation, I now feel much more confident in using the space as storage, and in knowing that I am not losing significant energy dollars through that space.

Scott kept me informed throughout the process. I was in no hurry to have windows replaced during cold weather and my parent's visit, and Scott honored that. Scott's work was neat and meticulous, which I appreciate. And I really appreciate Craftsmen Home Improvements taking such good care of me almost seven years after the initial install. This just reconfirms that we made the right choice hiring them in 2006.

very professional staff did an outstanding job. Jim wrote a detailed proposal after on-site evaluation. Kim was in contact all the time to schedule the installation (rescheduled due to weather) and answer our questions. Matt and his staff came down on time and did an awesome job. Joan helped prepared the paperwork for CP energy rebate. I had a great experience to work with Craftsmen home Improvement Inc and will definitely work with them again in the future.

I had Craftsmen Home Improvements Inc come out and install a new roof after a hail storm the year before that damaged my roof, fascia and gutters. I had a short timeline on when I needed the work completed by and they came out when they said they would, finished almost exactly when they said they would (weather delay) and performed quality work.

Very fast response to my request. I accepted a bid from another company but had no complaints about Craftsman.

Everything about this company was great. Jim worked with me to explain exactly what they were going to to and even helped me out with other general questions when he did the estimate. I had a non standard bathroom fan and they were accommodating when I said I wanted to use ridged vents instead of flex tubing they normally use. The bid price remained the same even though I had made this request. The crew arrived on time and were really great guys. They got right to work and were great about explaining what was happening at each step of the way. They also took the time to thoroughly clean up after themselves, which was fantastic. I had the opportunity to inspect the work after it was done every thing was very pro. These guys were great from start to finish and I would definitely hire them again.

Excellent. Zinc strips ordered were installed on wrong side of house. Realizing their error they reordered and installed on correct side at no additional cost. Both sides of the house now have the zinc strips. Their pricing similar to other contractors and included better warranty on shingles. Very personable and professional. Would use them again.

They were very professional from beginning to end both during both of the project installations. They offered advise and assistance in choosing the windows and doors and matched my schedule for measuring. They also scheduled their start time and working hours to make it convenient for my schedule. They did an excellent job, and I am very pleased with the new windows and doors. In addition to these projects, I had a burglary, with severe damage to a door (a 3rd older wooden door which had not been replaced yet). Craftsmen made a carpenter available the next day with another door to secure my home. They were extremely helpful and quick during a difficult time and I appreciated very much how they treated one of their past customers. I would recommend them to anyone seeking window or door replacement.

When I started our quest for a contractor to fix our hail damage I wanted the repairs done by one company. I'm a bit of a pain in the *&^ with contractors. I will interview numerous companies and make a choice from that point. I contacted Craftsmen and was very happy with our first phone call. When I met with Erik I was sold immediately. Over the course of 8 months He proved to be knowledgeable, helpful, and most importantly easy to work with. He spent a lot of time representing us with insurance adjusters, suppliers, and manufacturers. He was responsible for figuring out our window mess and did an awesome job. One of the biggest points I like about Craftsmen Home Improvements is they COMMUNICATE. I emailed Erik once and he called back within minutes. The Craftsmen Improvement folks communicated better than any contracting company I have ever done business with in the past. Whether it was siding or roofing, the crews were polite, clean, and on time. I think our window issues turned our project into the project from h***. I cannot justify saying anything else but, the word perfection. I'm still amazed how well Craftsmen handled our project. I don't think I've had a better time working with a contractor. I couldn't be any more ecstatic about Erik's ability to handle a project, he impressed us every time we met with him. I am amazed with 2 other folks. Tommy and Jimmy the two insanely talented window installers, to somebody who didn't watch them might say they took their time. Not me I saw the methodical way they installed our windows and I was floored. Watching them put a 4ft X6ft window in our living room, while it was snowing was amazing. I had more fun interacting with them over the 10 or so days they installed our windows than I've had with a contractor before this project. If a reader wants a short review I will put it this way. We chose this company because we liked the sales rep (Jim), their quote was competitive with others and the were able to do both the roof and insulation - (other roofers were just that - roofers - and gave us the name of an insulation guy..) Jim was friendly, professional, knowledgable and helpful when he came out to give the estimate. He also came back to do some of the trickier work with the venting of the soffits himself. Communication with the office to pick out shingles, schedule the work, make payments, etc. was always easy (used email and phone). They were scheduling about a month out at the time. Joan was very helpful and friendly. As we were deciding on shingle colors, she gave us addresses of roofs they had done in our area which was helpful. The workers were prompt and hard working. Completed the work in two (long) days. We were happy with the clean up and the dumpster was removed promptly. Would recommend to anyone.
