The men did an awesome job. I have quite a few flower beds around the house and the workmen were very careful with them. The house looks so updated and fresh. I love the new color. They were prompt and cleaned up super well.

They have a communication person that keeps you informed during the whole process.

I was very nervous before the project began since the last two contractors I hired for major work were very disappointing and one in fact went out of business within a year of completing the job which of course means I have no warranty for the work. Craftsmen did and exceptional job on all facets of the project. Tim who was in charge of removing our old porch and construction of our portico was exceptionally talented and in installing a new ledger board for a future deck went so far as to lay out the position of the joists. Tim also gave us guidance and suggestions concerning moving our air conditioner unit which two air conditioner companies failed to provide. I cannot say enough about the professionalism I experienced. Joan, who whenever I had a question or concern was on top of the issue, sometimes even before I could turn around. One evening I emailed her with a concern and before I could check my email the next morning there was someone out at our home dealing with the issue. Craftsmen Home Improvement was the only company that was willing and able to do everything I asked and worked with me to get the project completed just the way I wanted. Out thanks to Joan, Tim, Randy Edmund and all the other wonderful staff. I would definitely recommend Craftsmen Home Improvement and will gladly call on them again in the future.

Craftsmen sent out a knowledgeable and friendly estimator who explained the process to us, worked with the insurance adjuster to obtain a supplemental estimate to replace the roof, and furnished a repair estimate in line with the insurance company's payment. Craftsmen kept us informed of their crew's schedule and targeted start date. The crew showed up on time, worked like beavers, finished the job in a day and a half, and cleaned up after themselves. I have since recommended them to a co-worker for a similar project.

They are simply brilliant. Easy to work with. Very professional. Their work is second to none. I don't think we could overstate how good our experiences with them have been.

We sold the house without having work done.

We started the process of evaluating window companies in January. I had roughly 8 companies out to see our house and situation including Andersen, Marvin, Renewal by Andersen, MN Rusco, Pella and others. Eric was the sales person that was assigned to us and he helped me understand how windows are removed, effectively prepped and replaced. Many of the other companies sales people only wanted to promote a partial window replacement. Our main goal was to get all the old, damaged and rotten wood out of our house for health reasons. Eric and Craftsmen's overall process supported our goals perfectly and Eric had a very good understanding of how we should properly remove the windows, rip everything down, re-tape/surface and replace. There was some frustration around the timing of the job. We signed in April and didn't get the job going until June. The main reason was that the manufacturing company for the windows (Lindsay Windows in Mankato) was behind schedule because of higher than typical order volume. That was frustrating, but not Craftsmen's fault. The crew that they sent to do the work was top notch (Tom, Jim, Steve and one other). They respected our house, went above and beyond when they found a few small issues that they just took care of on their own (ants and wood replacement), were extremely clean...left our house cleaner than they found it and finished the job on time and budget as promised. These guys go above and beyond for their customers. They did things as part of the job that I wouldn't have expected, returned when there were a few small issues and got the window manufacturer onsite to fix up a few small issues like nicked handles and weatherstripping that wasn't properly allowing a window to open and close. I would use these guys for windows any day of the week. They might not be the cheapest option out there, but the windows they sell and trust, the quality of the installation process and the end product is top notch. Jim and Tom are awesome. They care about what they're doing and they are masters at windows and the finish work that it involves. Kim (project manager) helped navigate everything and helped many steps along the way to ensure we were being taken care of in any way possible. I personally can be a little hard to deal with because I have high expectations and can be very persistent with people. Kim took care of our needs and the entire crew cared about our situation and the quality of the work performed.

Hello Dan, Hope your week is going well. I am writing you this message to let you know that I am very disappointed in the way my insurance claim has been handled by Craftsmen Home Improvements. I live in Bloomington and contacted your company based on the positive reviews that you have here on Angie's List. I have already spent most of this summer working with one of your general contractors and now, it looks like I will have to look for another general contractor. The reason why I will probably have to do that is something I would never expect from a reputable company: your general contractor "left out minor items" when he was making his calculations ... even though my insurance adjuster said that they did discuss the items and the items were included in the final dollar amount approved. I am waiting to hear back from your general contractor until the end of this week because he said that he was waiting to hear back from his supplier about the prices for those minor items. If you look at the date when I contacted you first time, you will see that It has been a long process and I hope that my project will be given proper attention and taken care of this year. It went well. They showed up when they said they would and did the job in a workman-like and professional manner. Their project manager stayed in touch with us and kept us informed of the project status. There was some confusion between Craftsmen and Marvin regarding the order; Craftsmen made it right and gave us our choice of two alternative solutions. Specifically the TiltPacs were ordered with a coat of primer on the interior, they were delivered without having been primed. Craftsmen offered us the choice of them coming back and priming the TiltPacsor giving us a cash discount if we wanted to do the priming ourselves. We choose to have them do the priming, which they did promptly and at our convenience.

In a word, AWESOME. From the estimate process, scheduling and planning, and getting the roofing done, Craftsmen were just great. The entire team was professional, on time and the roof looks fantastic. During the estimate, Jim suggested several color choices for the new roof. My wife picked a darker color than the existing shingles and we both feel that it makes a dramatic improvement in the look of the house. My wife and I both have very busy and demanding work schedules. Also, we needed to be home when the work was done because of an older dog that we did not want to kennel. Joan worked around us and set up the job to accommodate our work schedules and pet concerns. The work crew arrived on time and worked very hard to stay on schedule. Matt, the crew supervisor, was great and as mentioned, the results are fantastic. Lastly, the crew did a great job with clean up after the roof was done. I would definitely recommend Craftsmen and would absolutely use them in the future.

After having ice dams for the first time and noticing water leaking from the soffit I thought a roof inspection was in order. I searched angies list and called Craftsmen Home Improvements. The communication was excellent. Jim was scheduled to arrive at 5:30 and he was early. He used his ladder, inspected the roof from the gutter level. He even took pictures on his phone to show me so I wouldn't have to climb another ladder to see the issues. He then did a complete inspection of the shingles on the entire roof. We discussed the results and why the ice dams happened. He offered solutions but didn't push at all to have work done. Craftsmen works on projects larger than what our roof needed. In the end he did not charge for his inspection or advice. The interaction was very positive. When we need a larger project in the future I will certainly be in contact with Craftsmen Home Improvements.

I have used Craftsmen Home Improvements in the past for a siding/roofing project on an old house and on insulation in my current house, so I knew they have great customer service and quality (and I was not disappointed). When I first contacted them for this job, I worked with Jim on the proposal--he was careful to make sure all the details were covered and that he had documented them correctly. Communication throughout the project was great--they made sure I knew when the various aspects of my job would be scheduled, and worked with me on setting a timeframe that would not interfere with an event at my house this summer. The windows were installed first, and the window crew was top-notch. They completed the windows and garage service door in 2 days. The Marvin windows they installed are beautiful, and they handled the staining of the wood interior of the windows and casements ahead of time, unlike another company I had looked into who would have subcontracted that work after the installation. A few days later, the siding crew started their work. Pat, the siding foreman, made sure to walk around my house to make sure he had all the details correct before they started. The siding crew worked tirelessly, staying long hours during nice days to make sure they kept on schedule. Their work ethic and quality of the work was impressive. Dan, the owner, contacted me several times to alert me of slight changes in the schedule, and also to follow up once the job was complete to make sure I was completely satisfied. I would definitely recommend Craftsmen Home Improvements, and I'll be using them again when I'm ready to have more of my windows replaced.

This is a professional company from start to finish. We met with Eric first, who took a look at the work we needed to complete. He gave us great information to help us make a decision without "overselling". We felt he was giving a fair and honest opinion. Really loved that this company recycles the materials they remove and that they provide free services to a family/business/person in need each year. Then we met with Pat and his crew. They have been working together for over 7 years and their teamwork was certainly proof of that. They were prompt, reliable, and hard-working. They checked in with me regarding small details, as they came up, and were always accommodating and respectful. The crew was very conscientious and took care around our plants, trees, and deck. They really went out of their way by doing things we didn't expect or ask for, like repainting some trim that they didn't even replace, hauling away some extra dirt that was not their responsibility, putting up the light fixtures and house numbers, and adding special touches to the trim. Dan came over and performed the infrared service to determine if there was water damage (at our request and based on some previous issues). I felt very reassured and we even performed a fun water test to see the patterns that would be detected on the infrared if there was water/moisture. As an extra step and for peace of mind, they even pulled back some siding and insulation to show that the frame was dry and hard. They just finished the work today and the house looks great. We would definitely use them again and felt we really got our money's worth as well as peace of mind. Great product (James Hardie pre-painted siding) with great quality and warranty. I am writing this review because the customer service that we have received when we had problems (the sliding glass door has had a few due to it's size) has been outstanding. Recently a latch broke on one of the windows and we did not know who to go to get it fixed. Dan at CHI has always been extremely helpful and he always follows through to make sure things are getting taken care of. I would not hesitate to hire Craftsmen Home Improvement again. Aside from doing great work, the customer service they provide is phenomenal.

He's supposed to come back soon to repair a part that started leaking again. We thought we had to replace the roof because of hail damage, but he said he could just patch some things up, to give us a few more years with the roof. We appreciated that. His patch-up seemed to have pretty much worked, except for the part he's going to come fix. He said he preferred to go up in attics early, when it's not 100 degrees, so I told him I'm up early, if he wants to come out early. He was there before 7:00 a.m, which I liked.

Jim from Craftsmen Home Improvements was very helpful in my process of figuring out what brand of roof to purchase. They were very helpful and provided photos from past jobs they've done as well as personally came over and helped me find the best price and a quality brand. The result was a quality installation of a new roof which still looks great. Highly recommended!

Everything went very well. Good communication and very good clean up. Work was done in 1 and 1/2 days.

They were terrific from start to finish. Finished in one day, were careful, clean & polite. Cleaned up very well.

They came out. The total of the job was going to be around $2,000. I decided not to move forward with it.

He was very professional and thorough. Great customer service and pleasant. He spent sufficient time inspecting the attic and explaining what needed to be done. The total cost would've been more than we wanted to spend so we opted to do it on our own.

Contractor replaced entire roof due to a manufacturing defect of the existing shingles. Contractor was on-time, explained his estimate, answered all my questions, and performed the work exactly as explained, no problems. I'd definitely recommend this company.

This is one of the finest companies I have ever worked with. From the initial sales contact (Jim) to the administrative contact (Joan) to the roofing crew (Matt and his team), everyone was always pleasant and professional and the quality of the work was excellent. I have already recommended this company to friends and congratulate the company on what they have created. As a former business owner myself (now retired) I know it isn't easy to produce such a high quality, high performing culture, especially in such a tough industry.
