Craftsman was fairly priced compared to several other bids we received. We chose them because they could complete all the work allowing us to avoid coordinating different contractors. Everyone I interacted with at Craftsman was friendly, confident in their abilities and had clearly done their research before speaking with me. When the window and siding teams arrived at our house they knew exactly what was going on and had very few questions. The window portion of our project was completed in 3 days and a couple weeks later the siding was installed which took 4 days. When Craftsman was removing the old siding they discovered that a portion of the plywood underneath was rotting due to water damage. So they let us know and then replaced it - no up charge, no negotiation. They just fixed it. I'm very happy with the quality of the work we had done. All of the materials are high quality and you can tell the project was well planned. I'll be hiring Craftsman again.

I am very satisfied with the final result of the project. There was a minor hiccup that occurred but it was was quickly remedied and they were very apologetic for the delay and made every effort to make this right as quickly as they could. The windows and the install all look great. They also did a good job at cleaning up after themselves everyday and at the end of the project.

I had Craftsmen Home Improvements replace the asphalt shingle roof on my Minneapolis home. Our home was built in 1887 and has a fairly complicated roof with several dormers including a round turret as well. The staff and crew at Craftsmen did an excellent job. The initial bid was very thorough and competitive, and they were able to get our job in their schedule right away, which was a huge help, as I was also trying to time this to get the roof done prior to a solar panel installation. After the initial tear off they discovered dry rot and big gaps between boards in the decking and ended up adding a new layer of sheathing on top of the original boards. There was some initial trouble getting the roof on the round turret to look right and after I called about it they came out and re-did it and it looks great now. All of the crew and staff were very professional and did a thorough job and made sure that I was happy. I would highly recommend Crafstmen for your roofing needs.

Our roof was old and needed replacement. We called 3 contractors to get estimates. Bids ranged from 8-12k. I wasn't impressed with the company that gave us the 8k estimate. So, it was down to CHI and another company. I asked them about their process to replace the roof and if they could help me determine if I should put in an insurance claim. The other company didn't answer those questions well. Jim from CHI did great. He even informed me about the warranty with my Gutter Helmet gutters. I liked that he was going above and beyond a normal sales job. Once the contract was in place, I had MANY e-mails from Maria. She is wonderful to work with and I loved all the communications. Our home is a rental in Minnesota and we live in Wisconsin. Maria kept us informed as to when the work would start and made sure we had Gutter Helmet involved. I really enjoyed the great customer service both Jim and Maria provided. Jim even followed up after the job to let us know about a few hundred dollars of expenses that they ran into due to a rotten spot on the roof. Maria followed up to inform us about the city inspection and that she contacted Gutter Helmet to get the helmet put back on. Tremendous customer service! I would use them again without hesitation.

We just completed a window and siding project. We did several new windows, several inserts and a full Hardie siding install.The craftsman team communicated with us via email throughout the planning and execution of the project. They clearly communicated the timing, start dates, etc. and kept us very informed. Each of the crews had a foreman/lead that introduced themselves and made us comfortable that they were our point of contact during the various steps. The entire crew was professional and the work was great. I would recommend craftsman.

Eric the sales guy was terrific at explaining the options, and he used a tablet to show us the different options we had in doing siding, as well as what the specific options would mean. He also walked us through the process once we agreed to move forward. After we made the down payment, they mocked up the color options so we could see simulations of them on our house to pick the best color. They also couried samples to our door so we could see the actual material.

In all of my contacts with the company, the staff was pleasant, helpful, and accommodating. The teams installing the windows and siding arrived promptly, got right to work, and did a thorough, professional job. If a problem came up, as it often does in renovating older houses, the experienced team solved it quickly and efficiently. With the new windows and siding, my house not only looks great but will be much easier to care for. I would hire Craftsmen again and recommend them to other homeowners.

We had been planning a remodel of our exterior since we moved into our house in 2013 so we had done quite a bit of research. We selected 4 Companies to provide a quote for all new James Hardie cement siding and window wraps. We selected the Company’s based on Angie’s list recommendations and the James Hardie approved builder list for MN. Based on the bids we received, there were two outliers on the very high end, and outlier on the low end (not a James Hardie approved installer) and a quote right where we expected – that was Craftsmen Home Improvements. In addition, they were the only Company that suggested we may have hail damage and that we should discuss a potential claim with our insurance company prior to performing any work. They were right – and insurance ended up covering over 50% of the project cost. From the very first day I could tell they were professionals - their installers were smiling, polite, hard-working and considerate. My two year old was even asking “Is Beto coming over today?” Job site was cleaned up every night and it was safe to walk around without fear of stepping on construction materials. They were creative and helped solve a number of drainage/leak issues on the fly (found after tearing off the existing siding) without any upcharges. Most importantly, they found the right mix of providing me with the information I needed and not being overly needy in terms of constant immaterial decisions. Overall the job was a complete success and we knew would hire them again in a heartbeat – which we did when we needed some insulation work done. These guys are perfectionists and take their work very seriously. Almost forgot, we had a couple of very minor issues with the gutters and before I could even ask them if I would have to cover anything they volunteered to immediately address the issues without any charge – they are absolutely militant about standing behind their work, which is one of the things that impressed me the most. I highly recommend them.

We recently purchased an old 1920's Bungalow home. While the interior was rich with the built-ins and woodwork, sadly the exterior was lacking its luster. After consulting CHI and other companies, I went with the best company. I am so glad I did. CHI is a one-stop shop for the consumer. My house needed a new roof and gutters and siding. CHI does it all. Each crew is knowledgeable and courteous a joy to work with. The roof was installed in one day! How great is that? The siding crew is awesome as well. I chose Hardie siding and the crew installed it perfectly. Everyone I have dealt with has been courteous and wonderful to work with. They treat the customer like royalty. I've never received that from any other company. I can't say enough about them. This has been a great experience for me and I highly recommend them to anyone needing home improvement. Like their name says, they are Craftsmen that will definitely improve your home.

We hired Craftsmen Home Improvements to replace the roof on our family home. Tim J came to take measurements and talk with me about the various issues and options concerning our roof. He was patient with my questions, gave clear and helpful answers and got back to me with an estimate by the next day. Maria was fantastic in helping us schedule a time when the crew would come to work on the roof and she was very responsive to my questions along the way. The crew was friendly, efficient and really took care to protect our siding and landscaping as they torn off the old shingles. There were a couple small follow-up issues after the roof was done that I was concerned about but as soon as I mentioned the issues CHI promptly sent guys out to the house several times until everything was finished and I was completely satisfied. If you are looking for a company that you can trust and one that stands behind their work I would recommend CHI. They will work with you until the job isdone right.

Craftsmen just completed a full install of all 15+ windows in my home using MN company Hayfield windows. Their service was great! From the start, when the sales rep came for the in-home estimate, through finish, when I had a couple of issues they addressed promptly and professionally. Before choosing Craftsmen I obtained estimates from other companies. Compared to the other companies, my level of comfort was much greater with Craftsmen, and combined with their estimate coming in lower than the others, I opted to work with them and do not regret the decision. My home has steel siding, and I worried about this with getting new windows. In fact, one of the other companies I looked into using had an entirely different plan to install with steel siding which sounded like they were going to do a hack job on my house. Craftsmen did a great job with installing the windows with the existing steel siding – I couldn’t be happier. Communication with the main office was good throughout the process. After the windows were installed I noticed an issue with the trim and Craftsmen made good on the issue by reinstalling all new trim at no cost. There were also scratches on the edges of many of the screens – Hayfield and Craftsmen worked with me to remanufacture every screen and they are great. I feel that I got a high quality product expertly installed. I also feel comfortable that if anything were to arise in the future, with Craftsmen being an established business, and with the way they stood by their work already, I’ll be able to work with them to get questions answered and assistance.

We are very pleased with the work and professionalism of the Craftsmen Home Improvement Team. From the quoting process, through the scheduling process, the actual roof replace itself, and the continual followup by the project manager, it was a well executed process. Their concern for customer satisfaction shone through every aspect of the engagement. The on-site team was very responsive, and the team lead kept us informed throughout. Craftsman Home Improvement is the company you want if you want excellent service and great work. They arrived at our agreed upon start date and were always on time. The workers were courteous and pleasant. They work efficiently and cleanly. They have an organized system of debris removal and at the end of each workday the site was left neatly organized. We give tours of the school through the summer and there was no inconvenience or places we had to avoid because of their work. If weather seemed to change plans, they were always very good about communicating time changes. The work was completed earlier than scheduled. Replacing the doors and windows has made the building much more energy efficient. When they started a work day, it was beyond the normal 9-5 hours. They arrived earlier and worked as long as there was daylight and good weather or until finished. The school is very satisfied and happy with the work. We would definitely recommend Craftsman Home Improvement to anyone needing roofing, windows and doors. They perform excellent work. You will be happy you chose them. The company was excellent, given that it was raining off and on during the whole week they were trying to get our roof done. They were very prompt with communication about what to expect and when workers would show. They were good about explaining why workers couldn't work in certain situations (significant chance of rain - they didn't want the roof exposed without shingles while it rained and then try to put tarps over the non-shingled parts. They explained very well why certain parts of the roof had to be re-decked and were very good about trying to keep that cost down as much as they could. One negative would be that they dropped the bundles of shingles so **** ** the roof that pictures were knocked off the wall and we suspect that it also caused a small crack in our dining room wall.

I used Craftsmen Home Improvements for installation of Hardie Siding last summer. Their prices were comparable to other companies. I received three estimates and theirs was the middle price but I felt very comfortable with their installation. Dan helped me with the scheduling and color selections. Despite their busy schedule, they were able to get me in within 10 days. My boyfriend and I struggled with deciding between three colors. We were able to get a list of homes they completed in each color for comparison and they had a courier bring us paint samples of each. When it came to the installation itself, the crew was very polite, friendly, and professional. They put in very long days and worked quickly. The entire house was completed in 3.5 days. Despite this, I have no doubt the siding was installed correctly. When they left, my yard was clean as if they had never been there. I have had a couple of contractors at my house since for estimates on other projects and we frequently get compliments on how nice our siding is and they have all told me it looks like it was installed very well. Luckily, I never had any issues but I have no doubt that Dan would make it right if I did.

After a recent storm, we noticed that we had some possible damage to our roof from hail. We called Craftsmen Home Improvements based on recommendations from others. From the first meeting with Jim to the last communications with Donna and Maria, we knew that they really pay close attention to every last detail and went beyond our expectations. In fact, Jim spent a lot of time answering our many questions and helped us configure a new drainage plan for our gutters. The entire process went significantly better than we expected especially comparing this to previous roof work done several years ago by a larger advertised company in the metro area. This time, however, our overall experience was great. We were provided with outstanding communications on critical issues such as shingle color, deliveries, scheduling of the job with the roofing project manager, Maria, through e-mails, texting and phone calls as well as the professionalism of crew and foreman, Matt and Elmer. Matt & Elmer were readily available and answered all questions with great care. The entire crew was courteous, conscientious and meticulous of their work. As a gardener, I was especially happy that they were careful with our plants and bushes and took extra measures to make sure they cleaned up after the job was completed. I would highly recommend Craftsmen Home Improvements as they exceeded my expectations and would strongly recommend them to any of my family members and friends.

Craftsman Home Improvements were so great to work with. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Every person I encountered was professional and they really communicated with us throughout the process. They kept us informed of when the shingles would arrive, when the workers would be there. We were fighting the elements a bit because it was Feb but they were out working when the weather permitted. They even asked have us schedule them to come back in the spring to pick up the debris that might have fallen into the snow. That right there is excellent customer service! The work done was 5 star as well! This is a top-notch company. We definitely recommend them and we will definitely use them again!!!

Representative promptly visited the house in late February, immediately diagnosed why the roof was leaking and recommended replacing all the shingles. Started the job less than a week later, when weather permitted (i.e. snow had melted). The crew was very polite and considerate, answered all my questions, and very efficiently stripped off the old shingles and replaced with high quality replacement shingles that look a thousand times better. Crew came back two additional times to finish the roof because the job was interrupted by weather and the need to rebuild the chimney. Each time I received courtesy calls from the coordinator telling me when the crew would arrive. The crew left the lawn spotless after each visit. This workers for this business are superbly skilled, very courteous and extremely conscientious. The cost was very reasonable. I would (and in fact have) recommended them with enthusiasm to friends and co-workers for any roofing job .

My wife and I had Craftsmen Home Improvements replace some windows for us, including a large bow window. They did a great job. Their employees who did the work were skilled craftsmen and quality people.

My wife and I recently decided that we needed to replace our roof on a house we've only owned for 4 years. Truth be told it was apparent that there was a problem with leakage into the house from the first year we moved in since we saw drip marks in various places in our vaulted tongue and groove cedar ceiling. Since our roof has a slant and pitch that precludes us from using simple shingles we knew we would have a expensive and possibly error prone installation if we didn't choose the right roofing company to work with. My wife performed her usual diligent research and we narrowed down the list of roofing companies to three. We ultimately decided on Craftsmen Home Improvements for several reasons. First, the owner Jim Kosloski was very warm and friendly and also gave us very expert and professional advice on what needed to be done. Alsthough their bid price wasn't the cheapest it also wasn't the most expensive. Second, Jim worked with us throughout the process to re-adjust the final bid several times as we looked to save cost whre we could without sacrificing the quality of the job. Without flinching Jim re-worked the quote multiple times and even was very congenial when we sought advice from another source. To us that showed that Jim would be the type of business that cares about the outcome of the job his company and workers perform. Which brings us to the third reason we chose Craftsmen Home Improvements to install our new roof, namely the work crew that came on-site to do the actual installation. From the word go they were a very friendly crew and the lead installer was very approachable when we had questions. In 2.5 days they completely tore down the existing roof including roof decking and insulation, installed spray foam and batt insulation, new decking and a new roof. Everyting was cleaned up promptly at the end of each day and at the end of the job you couldn't even tell they had been there. I would highly recommend Craftsmen Home Improvements to anyone looking for an honest, quality roof installation and I will be calling them again when and if the need ever arises again for addtinal work to our home. Craftsmen Home Improvements replaced our storm damaged roof. Owner Dan B. was quick in response to our inquiry. A sales representative for CHI, Tim J, was here for the roof inspection and was available throughout the process. He helped me to understand the details required for our insurance and took care of applying with the city for the needed documents. When the roofing team arrived, they were careful to protect the flowers and landscaping around the edges of our home, covering them with tarps. The team was timely, quick, efficient and respectful. CHI is very family orientated and understands the needs of families. Their extra care checking and double checking for rogue nails went above and beyond for the little bare feet in our home and in the edges of our neighbors lawn. It shows they care about the details and our home looks excellent too! Thank you, Dan, Tim and CHI team!

From the very first contact, we were impressed by their professionalism. We were able to make a selection of what siding we wanted and get the project on the way very quickly. This was really important as we were preparing for an upcoming inspection. We were very happy with the price and quality of both the materials and workmanship. We also are still very happy with the windows we had installed back in 2009. We have had absolutely no problems with them. We highly recommend Craftsmen Home Improvements and will use them on our next project for sure.
