We are so glad that we came across Craftsmen Home Improvement on Angie's List! It can very overwhelming choosing who to work with, when you are your own GC on your own home. We really appreciate all the time, energy and advice that Erik Daehlin gave to us. He gave us confidence that we were going with a great company, although your reviews speak for themselves! We also were very impressed with Maria Sanocki and her prompt replies via email and phone -- that communication makes the world of difference! And last but not least, both crews on site were wonderful. They worked and sweated all day and got the roof done just before the rain came! My husband and I are thrilled with the new windows and frames installed for us by Jim, Tom, Steve and Tyler. We could not be more pleased. The windows are so beautiful and give our home a much needed beauty makeover! The carpentry skills and workmanship of the crew was fantastic. And their professionalism was beyond our expectations. They were quick, yet thorough, took pride in doing their craft with precision and artful style, very conscientious about not disrupting our home life more than they had to while they were here, and always cleaned up at the end of each day. They also made sure to check with us for even the slightest tweak to our plan, which is to be expected in such a large job as our (all of our windows on both floors were replaced). I cannot say enough about what a great experience it was. I would highly recommend the Craftsmen crew to anyone (and in fact one of my neighbors will be calling!). My wife and I are building a detached mother-in-law apartment/garage combo behind our existing Minneapolis home. We selected Craftsmen to do our roof, and I'm so glad we did. I enjoyed every aspect of working with them: the process was smooth and professional, the finished product was great, and the bid was one of the lowest two (out of four) that we got. We also had a couple of change requests (like adding a gutter on one side) during the project. They handled those seamlessly, and also charged a very fair price for the additional work. I am pleased with the work of Matt, Elmer and the crew that replaced my roof today. They were curteous and responsible. Only sign of their presence her today I s my new roof, other than a few minor details Matt made note of. I appreciate Maria's efforts to accomodate my last minte change of shingle color and keeping me informed throughout process.

I discovered after I agreed to have the work done that the payment terms that the terms were not "in the norm" of what online search results from consumer focused orgs suggest. Completely on me, I realize. I raised concerns to Dan and we ended with a mutually agreeable solution. The work itself was done professionally and without issue to a family with young kids running around. I also have to say, the house looked much nicer in the Hardy board. This spring we had a lot of rain in Minnesota and we started to get warped boards near our fire place on the floor just below the roof. Though we had our roof replaced a few years ago - this had not happened previously. We called a couple roofing experts to look at it and they identified the likely location, but not the root issue(s). I called Dan to see if he could help given that the identified location was a chimney area his crew had sided. Dan sent out someone to both diagnose and fix the issue. They identified a couple roof issues and a possible siding issue that were all addressed without cost to me. After having a concern initially on the pricing terms, I have to say Craftsman is a stand up company and I'll consider them for most of my future home improvement projects.

We were thrilled with the job that Craftsmen did on our roof from the initial meeting to the final product. The whole team is tremendous. Scheduling was a breeze and they helped us pick out the right shingles for our home. In addition, the work crew was amazing. They worked so hard and were on time, polite, and skilled. I knew from the moment that they started that we would be happy with our roof.

Craftsmen was a great company to work with, and I intend to use them in the future. They did an excellent job communicating their steps and timing, and always notified me ahead of time if anything changed. Communication, reliability and quality are all things that come to mind when thinking about Craftsmen.

We're very satisfied with what they've done. They brought sheets to cover the furniture and floor, they worked hard to get the job done quickly, and they even fixed a small thing for us as extra. We highly recommend them for their work ethic and politeness.

Craftsmen Home Improvement did a great job installing our patio door. Their price was fair. In fact they gave me a nice Angie's list member discount. They usually do not do such a small project. But since they previously installed my roofing (Great job!!!), they did it. Because they did such a great job and were so helpful on my roof, they were my go to company. In fact after some brief discussion I ordered their recommended fiberglass door. They arrived promptly and worked closely as a team. They also fixed my rotting subfloor near the door. After the install the screen door was one quarter inch too low. They arranged to have the rep fix it. Discount for review.

It went great, the job was completed in a timely manner, and everything looks exactly like we envisioned. We have hired Craftsmen for three different home renovation projects (roof, windows, and doors), and each time, we have been impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, and could not be happier with the quality of the end result. They have continually gone the extra mile to answer our questions and provide solutions for any issues that come up. We will gladly continue to hire Craftsmen in the future, they have become one of our "go to" companies for home improvement projects!

My general assumption of contractors had always been that they are just out to get your money. From the moment Jim pulled into my driveway to take a look at what was needed I knew I was wrong. Jim immediately put me at ease and gave me the confidence that Craftsmen was here to take care me and my needs first and foremost. He took the time to understand my specific situation, did a thorough review of my house and gave me all the information I needed to make an informed decision. He explained the benefits of all the products he wanted to use, explained the methods and reasons behind everything he was recommending. I was especially pleased when he gave me the final estimate and it was right in my budget. From my first interaction with craftsmen I knew I was in good hands. After we decided to move forwarded I was passed over to the scheduler who took the time to introduce herself and explained the rest of the process. All through the process she kept me up to date on scheduling, she took care of everything from ordering the dumpster to scheduling delivery and pulling the permits. All I needed to do was pick a roof color. I never needed to worry about no knowing what to expect and when to expect it. The day the work was done the crew arrived and knew exactly what was needed and set straightway to work. The foreman introduced himself and made sure that I didn't have any questions or concerns and I was confident right from the start that he and his crew knew their stuff and would do a great job. The crew was courteous and considerate and respectful. They truly had everything under control and again, all I needed to do was sit back and remind the cat the world was not coming to an end. At the end of the day they let me know what was left to do and when I could expect them back and they were right on time and I no worries about leaving for the day with my house in their capable hands. When all was said and done the only reason I knew they had been there was the new roof. The yard was completely clean, there were no nails in the driveway. The dumpster was gone, ALL the debris was cleaned up and there was no damage to the house or the landscaping or anything at all. it was if they waved a magic wand and the house was done. I absolutely love my new roof, it looks great, everything was done correctly and done well. I no longer fear the rain. If anyone asks I will certainly refer Craftsmen Home Improvements and they will certainly be at the top my list for my next project. I recommend them with no reservations at all.

I worked with Erik Daehlin from a sales perspective and he was awesome! Erik was quick to answer our questions whether it was via phone or email. He worked hard to provide us with the best pricing possible for our window project. In regards to the installation, the team was great!! Tom Burdine was our project manager and was onsite everyday during the installation, we provided daily updates to him and our requests were responded to immediately. One window was delivered and installed with the wrong hardware, the CHI team took it in stride and the correct hardware was installed on the window in a matter of days. The crew cleaned everything up prior to finishing each day, including vacuuming the area they worked in and installed temporary window coverings - we barely noticed the project was going on. I would highly recommend Craftsmen Home Improvements to anyone who is looking to do a full window replacement!

We found them on Angie's List and gave them a call. Jim came over during his lunch break to measure the same day we called. The company didn't try to force us into too expensive a product but the one suitable for the price of the unit in my development. I liked that! We were kept in the loop regarding the ordering process, manufacturing completion and installation date. It was obvious from the first day, this company, Craftsmen Home Improvements, took pride in their product and service. Very professional. I am in the service business and could not have been more pleased with the outcome. The crew, Tom, Jim, Steve & Tyler arrived on the day and time promised. Each one introduced themselves and Tom gave me the details as to what they would be doing for the next two days. I told him I had recently had my downstairs hardwood floor refinished and would appreciate them taking off their shoes when inside the town home. They were 100% compliant. I liked that!. They immediately set up their scaffolding for the upstairs bedroom window preparing for the most difficult install. What a novel idea. Use of the scaffolding for any upstairs installation kept the traffic inside the town home to a minimum. Very professional! I don't pretend to know anything about a craftsman's trade, the tools they use and how they make everything look as good as they do but when they were finished, it was a work of art. These guys are good. They took pride in their trade. They were courteous to each other and to us. We would use them again. Thanks, Craftsmen.

Craftsmen was great to work with, from beginning to end. Our primary contact at Craftsmen met twice with our insurance adjuster to help ensure damages were covered. We still had a discrepancy with our insurance company in the end, but decided to go with Craftsmen and pay a little extra out of pocket. (We felt the issue was more on the insurance end, as they wanted to take a shortcut on how new windows were installed.) All of my questions about the job were answered promptly and thoroughly by Erik. He was very patient with us throughout the process, as we took our time deciding on details and starting the job. Once we signed the contract, everything went smoothly. Every member of the crew that worked on our home was pleasant and professional. And the work was top-notch. I couldn't be happier with the outcome.

I couldn't be happier with how the process went from start to finish. My first contact was with Tim from Craftsmen and he was really great to work with. He did the bidding and all of the carpentry work associated with the new balconies. Tim took a complicated task and made it look easy. Pat and Beto ran the siding crew and they were really great as well. I am a real estate lawyer for a very large commercial developer and I have worked with a ton of contractors on very large projects. I can honestly tell you that Craftsmen is a phenomenal company and I will definitely be doing business with them in the future.

These guys are great. They are on time, very professional, and provide great service. There were a couple of things that needed tweaking when the project was done and the responded right away for corrections. This is a great company with great employees.

From the homeowner point of view, Craftsmen Home Improvements more than delivered on their promise to make us glad we chose them for our siding project. Always prompt and courteous, the crew worked hard in the summer heat each day. This crew had a wonderful team spirit about them and readily helped each other without complaint. Their attention to detail showed how experienced they were and indicated that they took personal pride in the work. I will recommend Craftsmen Home Improvements to any that ask me.

Craftsmen did an excellent job all around. They fixed a leak in the roof for free in the month before the roof replacement. They were extremely prompt and efficient in their communications. Loved the sales person who initially came to provide the bid. We were amazed at how they did the job in about 7 hours all in one day. Their clean up was exceptional. You would never even known they were there except for the beautiful new roof. The quality of the work appears to be super so far.

The entire process with Craftsmen Home Improvements was excellent. From the first meeting with Eric for an estimate, all the way through to our final inspection my wife and I were very impressed with the entire team. Each day the crew was at our home I was able to personally review progress and was informed of what was planned for that day. If anything came up during the day we received a prompt email from Maria or a phone call. Once the job was completed the crew spent a few hours meticulously cleaning up our yard and surrounding landscape making sure all of the debris and nails from the previous roof were picked up and disposed of properly. My wife and I high recommend Craftsmen as a new roof and gutter guard installer. I was very pleased with the work that CHI did replacing my roof. Jim met in person for the estimate, and reviewed options and what needed to be done, suggesting enhancements like a new bath fan, additional venting, which were really needed on my older home. The work crew was wonderful the day they were here, answering questions, etc. and did a really great clean up job. Communication on the timing of the job was also well done. I would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

We had a 20 year old roof that needed replacement. The bid put forth by Craftsmen was competitive with the other bids we received. Our initial contact was with Jim. His observations and knowledge during the estimate visit made our decision easier. He made suggestions to improve air flow in our attic and reduce siding damage that we were experiencing from roof drainage that the other companies had not considered. Once we had the agreement in place, Maria made sure we were continually informed about the scheduling and weather related delays. She was very responsive to all questions I had during the process. On re-roofing day the roofing team started early and was very professional, friendly, and did an excellent job. The people of CHI make for a pleasant contracting experience through their friendly, informative communication and the great work they do. I highly recommend CHI.
