Riley Housley is the name of the owner. He showed up for the estimate and drew me a picture of what he proposed doing. Because I was building the garage portion myself I said I would get the permit. Riley thought that would be great! Their bid was about 20% less than they nearest contractor. They began excavating with shovels and carts a few days after we met. I was a little surprised because I was kind of thinking I'd see a skid steer or some machine for it, but I didn't say anything. Several days later they were ready to pour the garage slab. It turned out poorly and there is a low spot in the middle. I told this to Riley and his response was "Good thing it isn't by your garage door or it could freeze down." Next came the drive way pours and they are ok. They did it in two pours and they got concrete on the set slab when they did the second poor so that is a little messy. Also I think they used a different mix on the second poor because the coloring is a little off. I was onsite for the layer of block for the foundation. The mason (or whatever he would be called) didn't know what he was doing. I got a square just to see if the foundation was close to square and it was not. I made them tear apart and redo two of the walls because it was so far off square. Finally they were done and Riley wanted his final payment. I was unhappy with the way things turned out so I was in no hurry to pay. I did some checking and found out the license number Riley gave me was expired. He told me his "partner" in the business was a lawyer and that he would file a lien and I said fine. That was about a year ago and I have not heard from him since. I'd advise not letting him work on anything on your property.

Not very very good service. The first day he came here one of his workers was injured. His 17 year old son helped him who was inexperienced. When they poured the concrete, it was not smooth it was rough. They are spots, and it is dark and light. The gentleman said he was going to put insulation between the steps and sidewalk but he didn't do that. Now there is a crack between one of the steps. I haven't been able to contact him.
Description of Work: They removed two concrete lawn steps and replaced with three new steps, and replaced sidewalk.
