Commers Conditioned Water Co

This is probably the worst company I have ever worked with. They came to repair my reverse osmosis system, which they were no able to do. In the process they clogged my water lines. I had a working faucet before they came and now I have to call a plumber. I waited 3 weeks for a service call and now I not only have no reverse osmosis system but I have to shell out money for a plumber which they refuse to pay for. Do yourself a favor and run away from Commers fast

Commers installed a new water heater in June 2020. It has not worked since the day they put it in. We have had one problem after another with it. We have been without hot water many times and now it keeps overheating and the pressure release valve releases water flooding our utility room and basement. We keep buckets next to it so we can catch the water now. My husband has purchased and installed 4 pressure valves himself since October! We actually have to keep an extra on hand now. We have called and sent videos many times of the malfunctioning unit and they ignore us. They say they have checked with Bradford White the maker of the heater and they say it is working just fine. We cannot leave our house without shutting off the unit because we are afraid it will overheat again and release water all over the place and destroy our brand new $10,000 furnace or just flood out our basement. It is dangerous and they won't do anything about it. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. If I ever want to be able to leave my house again without shutting down my hot water heater, I'm going to have to spend several thousands of dollars to replace the heater they installed because they refuse to take care of the problem. It has been extremely frustrating and disappointing to say the lease.

Got double billed on are credit card to start with. The water softener did not work correctly. They said they were busy and would be a few weeks for a repair. Save your self some headaches and time and shop elsewhere.

David came out to install our new Commers water softener and perform the annual service and replace the filters on our under-sink drinking water filtration system. He was thorough and professional, making sure that I understood the operation of the water softener. He also explained their customer care plan for the drinking water system, which I took advantage of since it is a way to pay monthly for the annual service so we do not have a significant expense when it comes time to service the unit. The cost listed includes $1,699 for the installed water softener and $110.87 for the cost of the filters. There was no trip charge for the drinking water system service since it was done in the same trip as the water softener system.

Ivan was the service tech. He was very professional, explained the process and the equipment. This is our 3rd Commers water conditioner. We have had good service from the previous units.

Great customer experience - starting from getting information/quote to the actual installation. The installer called me prior to my appointment. When he arrived, he introduced himself. After he was done with the installation, he went over everything with me. Very professional company with great customer service.

It went really good. The gentleman was actually 10 minutes early for his appointment which worked perfect for me very professional courteous and a pleasure to work with. They are very honest company and did not try to sell me anything that did not need

The Commers installer, Greg, knew what he was doing and what had to be changed to accommodate the new water conditioner and in no time everything was in place.

This was supposed to be just our annual filter change for our reverse osmosis under-counter water filtration system. We knew we were on borrowed time with the membrane of our old unit, which had never been replaced. When the technician Dean recommended that we replace the membrane, he also offered the option of updating the entire system. To replace the two filters and membrane and sanitize our old system would have cost over $500. Although we did not feel pressured at all to buy a new system, we decided to do that since our system is old enough that more parts, including the tank, were likely to cost us more in repair costs in the near future. Because we have a very long history with Commers and trust them as experts in the water business, we did not compare prices. That is the only reason we rated them as a "B" for price because I do not truly know if the $949 price is an excellent price or not.

Dave was extremely informative about the various softeners that they offer and he walked us through a number of questions we had about the reverse osmosis unit. Follow up questions re: installation were answered almost instantly.

I had a water softener installed just under 2 years ago. The first years, experienced occational problems with it not softening the water. They said the problem was that I did not have enough salt in the system. I called them again within the first year and they said to see if it would regenerate. It did that time. Since that time, I have had occasional problem where the water gets very hard. When I called today to have them come out, The person I spoke said there was a $120 dollar service fee just to come out. I TRIED to explain that I have had this problem since the first few months and she would keep interupting me and would not let me explain. She then started calling me names, threatening me. I asked to speak with the owner and she refused to put the call through to him. She just hung up on me. I have had Commers in two other homes and never had a problem. But this time, not only am I having problems with the system, I have been treated very poorly by the staff at the company. Beware. You might get a good product like I did the first two times, but you might get a defective product like I did this time. And if you get the defective product, be prepared for very poor customer service.

I have been using them for 27 years.

I called Commers mid December 2016 for a quote to replace my old softener. I tried to haggle, they wouldn't, just gave me a set price. Refreshing. Next I called some competitors. They were about the same price, some were a bit cheaper but seemed pushy and too eager to upsell (too many questions, building a sales pitch, get me in their lead database, etc.). I called Commers back and they came out the next day. At my request, the installer re-plumbed my kitchen cold water line to no longer bypass the softener. No charge, impressive. He was punctual, fast, helpful, and cleaned his worksite when done. I was very impressed. The next day I noticed a plastic-y, semi metallic, bitter after taste in the water. I flushed all the lines and tasted multiple taps, all bad. Had my kids and friends try too, same opinion. I called Commers, they set a service call right away and suggested I regenerate the system because maybe the new resin beads were the culprit. So I did and it seemed to help a little. The tech showed up on time, found nothing wrong, added sanitizer to the brine tank. We both noticed the brine tank had a strong plastic off gassing smell, normal for new items, so I decided to leave it open for a few days. He suggested I flush the system a few more times as this seemed to help. I asked for more salt to compensate for the extra regenerations, he threw in a bag no charge. Before he left he notice I tripped over the drain spout and cracked the mount so he replaced it no charge. Overall great experience, great people, great company. My only suggestion is that they tell folks who use soft water for drinking to flush the system multiple times to get rid of that factory fresh “new car” taste.

As scheduled, Commers called at 7:30 am to establish the time of their visit. The technician arrived promptly and went right to work. We had considered buying a new faucet because of the leaking, but he felt that it was worth trying to tighten it to see if that would solve the problem. Since then, we have had some leaking, but it does seem to be better than it was. The leaking is at the base of the faucet above the counter so it can just be wiped up and does not cause water damage. We appreciated being able to postpone the cost of a new faucet until next year. The technician noticed that our filter membrane is the original one from 1998, and he wondered if it should be replaced, but he did not try to pressure us into buying it this year since the water pressure is still decent and the membrane is operating effectively. The cost mentioned above reflects a senior discount of 10% on the labor.

Unbelievably satisfied with them. They are wonderful. They come out whenever we call them. We found them at a home and garden show.

Asked for estimate on installation of filter system and got a curt response. Then asked for more details and got no response. It doesn't bode well if you can't -- or refuse to-- field basic questions from potential customers.

They took about an hour or hour and half to complete the whole thing. They did a good job.

Scott called early in the morning to give us a window of time when he would be here. He showed up just a few minutes past that time frame and quickly diagnosed the reason the system was leaking. Since he had the part with him, he was able to make the repair immediately and then completed the annual service that we requested now to avoid another service call charge in three months. Everything went fine, and we have noticed no more leaking. Scott's testing of the membrane shows that it is working at 92% capacity even though our system is almost 15 years old.

We recently purchased a new home that was a foreclosure. The previous owner had a water softener that was still sitting in the mechanical unit, but I wasn't sure how long it had been sitting inactive, etc. I called Commers to find out about the unit and found out that it was a rental unit that was never returned. Connie who is in their service department helped me understand a lot about the unit and forwarded me to someone else that helped me get the rental unit setup for me to be billed for it which is around $26 per month. Anyway, they were kind enough to have someone come out to check out the unit and make sure its operating correctly and clean the brine tank out as well. They normally do not do that, but since the unit was in the house already and had not been in use for quite some time, they made a one time exception for me to send out a technician to look it over. I appreciated it even more because when the technician came out, I learned so much more about how the water softener unit works, etc. But the most important item is that he showed me that the water wasn't even turned on to the unit which I would not have known to do. They really did go above and beyond. They have a great Saturday salt sale, buy 5 bags get a 6th free. I believe its $6.95 per bag. It was a pretty positive experience over all.

We moved into a home that had Commers water softener and reverse osmosis filtration system. We had Commers come out to clean the filtration system and replace the filters. The technician showed up on time and was friendly and professional. He took the time to explain how everything worked. He even looked at the water softener at no charge. He explained to us how the water softener worked and sold us cleaner for the water softener. We had a very positive experience with Commers.

We called them because we were finally remodeling our bathroom and did not want water stains anymore. We had seen them at the state fair for 2 years in a row and got a price for the state fair special on the 40 HE system. We asked how much it would be now and it was too much for us and we said we would wait for the state fair again because its only 3 months away and it was a lot cheaper. Then after a couple days we got a call and they said they couldn't do the special, but it would be a little bit more money than the special, and we agreed because it wouldn't be a special if you can always get it at that price. When the installer came they had the 40 SX softener ( the cheap starter softener) and they installed that and the RO system. The installer was very professional and very nice. He said he would take pictures of our brochures and quotes that we had of the 40 HE unit and he did and he was going to email them to whoever they needed to go to so we could get the correct softener that we ordered. We never heard anything so we called and it ended up with us getting a little refund and keeping the same softener because they were not willing to put in the 40 HE unit. So for the state fair special price we got the starter series softener and not the better HE unit. We would have waited for a better deal if we knew they were going to try and give us the cheaper model. We like Commers, but we feel like we should get what we ordered, not something cheaper. We settled for the refund because it was not worth the hassle of all of the negotiations. If it wasn't for this hiccup they would be rated an A.

We replaced a 20+ year old water conditioner with their new model. Service was prompt, reliable and their equipment has performed as represented. I have no hesitation recommending this company for soft water conditioner replacement. There were no surprizes.

Initial visit went well and was very comprehensive. The installation could not have gone better. Tony was an absolute A+. Super nice but not to "chatty" very task oriented and did a clean job. Installed a Softner and water filter system in only 3 hours including some misc. pipe work by himself! Installed equipment works great so far.

As planned, Commers called early the morning of our appointment and gave us a window of time for the service guy to arrive. Pete arrived towards the beginning of that window of time and went right to work. He was professional and efficient. We asked about their senior's discount while he was calling his office with our credit card payment. Pete was unfamiliar with the discount, but the office verified a 10% senior discount on the $92.00 labor charge. Pete changed the price on his invoice and said that the office would credit the discount back to our credit card. The entire service took maybe 30 to 45 minutes with no unexpected problems.
