+ -1 moreLate Thursday afternoon, my computer froze up and then would not restart. I had heard of Chris Petersen's repair service from a friend. I left a message on Thursday evening, he returned the call Friday morning, and we set up an appointment for Saturday morning. He arrived on time and set to work. He asked me a lot of questions on how I used my computer and what had happened on Thursday. He tested several things, determined that the memory had failed. He replaced the memory and did more testing to make sure the problem was solved. He also sold me a flash drive, backed up my data and gave me step by step instructions on how to do it myself. I asked many other questions about my operating system and my browser. I really appreciated that he answered my questions in an easy to understand way. Some computer repair services I have used have been too technical or condescending when I asked questions.
Description of Work: Analyzed why my computer was not working, replaced memory on my computer, backed up all my data on a flash drive, added security features to Mozilla Firefox, answered many questions very patiently, cleaned up my desktop, checked all the cords and reset my speakers.

+ -1 moreHe charges much less than other companies to do the same work. And yet his work is comparable.
Description of Work: He updated my computer which had not been updated for many years. He replaced the parts that needed it, but did not try to sell me anything extra. He did a lot of troubleshooting to be sure that everything worked, and was very prompt in getting back to me with questions. He helped me buy new software and install it.
