+ -1 moreMy mower was running fine, I justed wanted it in for maintenance. The shop was very busy but they had the work done when they said it would be done. And it was done right. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My mower is running perfectly. This was the first time I had my mower tuned up at this business but I plan on coming back for future maintenance.
Description of Work: I wanted the basic lawnmower tune-up: Sharpen blades, change oil, spark plug and air filter. This is the basic package. I dropped the mower off and it was ready 10 days later as they promised.

+ -1 moreI dropped the equipment off on a Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon it was ready to go. Just as the heaviest snowfall of the year hit. As always the folks here go over what was done, make sure that everything works to my satisfaction and provide instruction on not letting old gas sit in the carb.
Description of Work: Snow thrower running erratically and stalling and recoil rope broken. Carburetor was rebuilt, worn skid plates replaced and new recoil cord installed.

+ -1 moreThese guys were both professional and friendly. They got my mower worked on fairly quickly during "busy season" (lawn was a foot tall) and were accurate about how long it would be. As a new homeowner and lawnmower user, it was very helpful to have someone take the time to explain how to prevent the same problem occurring in the future.

+ -1 moreI felt the price was reasonable for the work performed and everyone I talked to was knowledgeable and helpful. The time frame for the repair was a little long but when you're busy, you're busy. I'd happily take my mower back to Cedar for future repairs, or even to look for a new model on their showroom as they had a great selection of mowers, including electric models. I also paid them an additional $5 to recycle an old snow blower. Yeah, you're paying them to part out a machine that they will make a little money on but at least it won't be thrown in a landfill somewhere.
Description of Work: A departing neighbor gave me a Toro self propelled mower that ran but had ''tranny'' problems. Cedar SE&R was backed up with repairs and it would take two weeks just to get an estimate. Not being in any sort of hurry I left the mower there along with the $20 deposit for the estimate. A little over two weeks later I received a call from Mike with options for repairing the mower. Putting a new tranny (or even a used one for that matter) in the mower would run more than it was worth so I opted to have them disable the drive unit and make it a push mower since we have a fairly small yard. Mike felt that the motor worked fine and a tune-up would not be necessary. Additionally, I asked them to sharpen the blade, which upon arriving home (3 weeks after I dropped it off) I found they did not do, but I was not charged for it and the mower works great. They even removed the drive unit actuator and any unnecessary parts that might get in the way or make operation confusing.

WHEN I PICKED UP THE MOWER, I WAS TOLD THE BILL WOULD BE ANOTHER $43.00. I ASKED ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE AND THEY POINTED TO A SIGN THAT INCLUDED - IN SMALL PRINT OFF TO THE SIDE ''+ PARTS.'' I FELT THIS WAS A BIT MISLEADING. HOWEVER, THEY WERE NICE, DID A GOOD JOB AND WERE ONLY 1-2 DAYS LATER THAN THEY SUGGESTED. I ALSO HAD TO WAIT 10 MINUTES IN LINE - WITH 4 OTHER PEOPLE ALSO WAITING BEHIND ME - TO PICK UP MY MOWER AS THREE STAFF PEOPLE WERE HELPING ONE CUSTOMER FIND OUT IF HE COULD ORDER SOMETHING.

BOTH ARE BACK EXACTLY WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE, WE HAVEN'T USED THEM YET BUT BOTH STARTED AND SOUNDED GREAT.

THE SNOWBLOWER IS OLD, WE GOT IT AT AN AUCTION, AND IT NEEDED QUITE A BIT OF WORK. BOTH MACHINES WERE NOT WORKING, THEY GOT OLD GAS IN THEM BY MISTAKE, WHEN WE SENT THEM TO BE REPAIRED.
