Company is very pleasant and professional. The only reason I gave them a B for responsiveness is that I had to call back a few days after initial contact before someone contacted me to schedule the appointment. Tom arrived on time, despite snowy/icy conditions; went on my roof to inspect gutters and then hung the line. He also gave me quotes for other work and good suggestions for related general imrpovements. Work was done well, quickly, cleanly. I would definitely consider them again for future projects and recommend them to friends!
Description of Work: Inspected gutters for leaves; unclogged where he could (first freeze had already set in) Hung clothesline over stairs for displaying children's art work

I called on Thursday to have them come out ASAP because my water was leeking and I needed a new one intalled before the other one blew. I was told that someone would call on Friday to get something set up on Mon or Tues. I received the first call back on Sunday night at 9pm, all they did was ask what kind of water heater I had. They then told me AGAIN we will call back on monday to schedule something on tues or wed. Never heard back from them so I called someone else and they installed that day. Finally got a call back on Friday morning the following week and they said they could come out and install it that day. Pretty bad response time, felt like they really didn't want my business, until someone else cancelled. Just glad my water heater didn't blow and flood my basement while I was waiting for them.

Member, I contacted our plumbing service we use to see what happened as it is unusual to get complaints about them. Kathy said she did not realize it was an emergency as you weren't sure when you spoke with her if you were going to buy one if you wanted them to look for one and give you a price before you decided what you wanted to do. She did say that she was not able to get back to you as early as she would have liked and is sorry that she had not gotten back to you sooner. For those of you looking for a quick recap, let me just say that Cady Handyman Services did a top-notch job on the lawn repair. The work was done very well, and the whole experience was terrific. It's nice to know there are still businesses out there who do quality work and provide fast, courteous service. I highly recommend Cady for your lawn needs. And now, here's the detailed story. Thanks to a 77-pound beast, also known as Teddy the Dog, I needed to have my lawn repaired. The lawn looked quit atrocious...it had several small dead spots, and one big area of death, too. Since I had no idea how to do this sort of repair, I went to Angie's list for help, and after perusing several entries, I decided to contact Cady Handyman Services based on their excellent reviews and website. As soon as I began talking to Daniel, the person who answered the phone at Cady's, I knew I had chosen the right company. Daniel was friendly and enthusiastic...he listened carefully to my problem...he gave me options for approaching the repair (reseeding or resodding)...and then recommended reseeding (if I could wait for the grass to grow), because it was much less expensive. Daniel then clearly explained Cady's pricing, which I found more than reasonable, so I decided to forego a formal estimate and just offer Cady's the job. I was expecting to wait at least a week for the work to be completed, but much to my delight, Daniel said he could do the repair the next day. FANTASTIC! The next day, the lawn repair was indeed done--and done beautifully. Daniel was more than prompt, and when I met him, he displayed the same friendliness and energy he had on the phone. Once again, he explained the work he was going to do, asked if I had any questions, and then got down to business. I was incredibly impressed. Daniel worked quickly, but put a ton of care and pride into the work. He removed every bit of dead grass, reseeded the dead area thoroughly and neatly, hauled away the old grass, and left the area clean, clean, clean. And more good news...when I got the final bill, it was about $50 less than I expected. I would definitely hire Cady's again for lawn repair...and after a long search and many disappointments, I also think I've finally found my do-it-all handyman for my house, too. Thank you Cady!

This went very well, the people at Cady were very responsive. They sent Peter to do the work and Peter was very helpful and he finished the work quickly!

We got an estimate for resetting/leveling a bathtub but they actually gave us recommendations for a less costly way to fix the problem which we ended up doing ourselves. None of the other estimates we received gave us any other ideas than what we suggested. It was a nice, honest interaction. I would definitely call them again.

A woodpecker had done damage to the siding on the front of my house. I called Cady and left a message describing my problem. I was called back right away and they had someone out to the house the next day. It was awesome response! The guy repaired the damaged siding and came back two weeks later and painted over the repair. It looks really good. I don't think anyone would be able to tell there had been damge. I'm am very please with the siding repair.

The handyman showed up on time and quickly removed the fan and installed the fan. He explained that a part needed to be purchased for the garage door opener. While he was willing to order and install it, he said it would be cheaper for me to do it myself. He gave me the part number and showed how to install it. I appreciated his honesty and will use Cady Handyman again in the future.
Description of Work: Had ceiling fan removed and plastic cap placed in location. Also socket for light bulb on garage door opener inspected.

I called the number and left a message in January. Someone called the next day (very nice) and said I should expect to receive a call from the handyman at any time. He did call, but it was 6 weeks later. Let me repeat that, not 6 days, but 6 weeks after my original call. I suppose I could give some credit for the call back, but not much.

Tom Larson showed up exactly on time to do the estimate on the work. The estimate was acceptable and I notified him the next day to go ahead. Tom is very personable and easy to work with. He scheduled the work for April 21-22 from 8:30 am to 4pm. He called the first day to say he would be about an hour late as he needed to stop and pick up some of the materials on the way. When he arrived, he went right to work checking at every significant step to be sure it was what we wanted. I asked him to add the removal of the gas grill and he agreed for a very small increment. He finished the work up on the second day exactly as he said he would. Everything was done very well and he double-checked to be sure I was satisfied.
Description of Work: I had some water damage showing around vents in three bathrooms and wanted to get that fixed. I also wanted an old gas grill in the kitchen removed. Tom Larson repaired the ceiling around the vents, repaced the fans, replaced the vent pipes in the attic and replaced the vents on the roof. He replaced the shingles around the vents on the roof and recauled all vents.

Greg from Cady does good work. When I called to have more work done, it hasn't gone well. Tom came out on time to do estimate. I'm very disappointed, now. I called and explained everything in detail to office. Tom didn't get message, so I talked everything over, again. I returned his call, leaving a detailed message that he said he never received. He promised to call this past weekend. When I phoned him, he said he would contact me by Monday afternoon and did not. I believe that Cady knows how to get high marks by being punctual, therefore have work. They choose to treat me like dirt, I feel.

He didn't charge us for the service call, because he only had to make a few adjustments. He was personable and a very nice gentleman. He fixed the problem, but it has come back again since we had our patio mudjacked.

They were excellent. After I used them the first time they became the go-to people for anything else I needed done. They showed up on time, they were polite and their prices were reasonable. I have since moved out of the area but if I still lived in Eagan, I would still be using them. I would highly recommend them.

The prices are too high, including the travel fee. Someone was sent out that didn't know how to work with doors. I was told they wanted to send this person out to gain experience, but I don't want to pay to teach someone. They were always on time and personable, but not worth the high cost.

Work was delay due too insurance involvement Company and service person Tom Larson were patience. Job was complete timely and satisfactory.
Description of Work: Waterheater leaked damaging floor and lower part of wall. Before I could replace the waterheater I needed to put in stable flooring. Work done pulling up damage area of the floor to replace, replace damage drywall, relay tile and grout, paint walls.

When I called Cady Handyman Services, my issue was quickly recognized and Mr Cady contacted his plumber and got back to me promptly. His plumber was out within a few hours. This was great because we had the water turned off at the main due to the shut offs at the shower not working, so we had no running water. I discovered earlier as the plumber had that the pipes to the shower knobs/faucet and head were soldered badly and certianly needed replacing else the leak would get worse. He did a great job soldering in new pipe and put in new working shut off valves. Everything is working just fine now. Mr Cady contacted me to ensure that everything was working before the plumber left to ensure my satisfaction. I thought that was a nice touch and he was appreciative of the business.
Description of Work: installed a new faucet and shower head in the bathtub/shower. This was needed due to the original pipe developing a leak due to poor solder joints.

Called on a Wednesday and handyman was over on following Monday, finished up work that Thursday. Did good quality work. I have to say, I was a bit disappointed with the hourly rate of $81.50, particularly for a job our size (no volume discount). This is the same as I paid a master electrician for some other work a few weeks ago. I guess I was envisioning a handyman doing work for somewhere around $50/hour. Shame on me for not asking and not seeking competitive bids, but we're in the end stages of getting the house ready for market so I didn't have the luxury of time to shop around. Cady is rated highly on Angie's List and they do a great job, just be aware you'll pay for it.
Description of Work: Had a list of ~20 projects to do around the house as we are preparing to put on the market. Included: installing ceiling fans, light fixtures, installing vinyl tile in a closet, replacing a closet shelf, trimming the bottom of a door, replacing ceiling tile, installing a front light fixture, attempted to fix a bathroom towel rack (it came loose again after leaving), etc...

The experience, my second with Cady, was as the first, prompt, professional, and much appreciated. The scheduling and workers were very courteous and professional. I would definitely use their services again.
Description of Work: Tom Larson (?) arrived promptly at the agreed upon time, if not a bit early, which was appreciated. Tom quickly assessed the work I was requesting, asked very thoughtfull questions for clarification, and even warned me away from some work I requested as unnecessary and imprudent. Tom completed the work in a timely manner, explained step by step what was done and why, and answered all of my questions.

A rotted out board was found behind the old steps that had to be replaced in order to meet city code. The person I hired did a good enough job replacing the board but did not seal it with barrier (after I had asked him to talk to the city inspector to make sure the job would be done in a manner to pass inspection). The inspector did not pass the work, and I eventually called Cady. I explained to the person who took the call what had happened, and asked that the man they were sending out to do the job, talk with the inspector before starting the work. She told me that their company stands behind its work and that if anything was not right that they would take care of it. Tom Larson, the handyman who came out and did the work told me the same thing. The inspector came 2 days later and did not pass the work, even though it was a rather small matter. When I talked with Cady on the phone, they did not hesitate to tell me that they would fix the problem. They even thanked me for bringing it to their attention. Tom was out a few days later, talked with the inspector by telephone, did the small job of caulking that he wanted, and that very afternoon the inspector came by and passed the work. Cady did not charge me extra for this second call. They stood by their word that the work would be done in a satisfactory manner. I am happy I ran across their name in the Angie's List periodical.
Description of Work: Water barrier was placed under siding of the house in the area of where new front steps had been put in. In a second service call a few days later, caulking was used to seal the siding around where the steps meet the house.
