The repair was fine, but it took the plumber 2.5 hours to get the part. We were billed 3 hours total for the job.

They were amazing. The plumbers were the best we've ever seen. They did great work. Professional. Courteous. Great communication. Responsive. I would hire them again in an instant. Their price was a bit higher than most BUT WELL WORTH IT! If your goal is to get what you pay for, they will exceed that. We thought the plumbing for our two bathroom renovations was going to be a pain given the other trades involved. Not so. They worked well with the cabinetmaker and electrician...in fact perfectly. Great work and great employees by a great company. Also, the woman who answered the phone in the office was wonderful. She knew everything and helped with any questions, scheduling, etc. Excellent too.

I frankly couldn't tell you because, they never called or showed up!
Description of Work: My home warranty company assigned a service ticket to this company for a leaking pipe in the ceiling above my laundry room on Apr 1, 2017. They were supposed to call me to arrange a service call. By Apr 6th, I had not heard anything and contacted my home warranty company who called the company. They stated someone would follow up with me the next business day (Friday). No one ever called. By Monday afternoon (4/10/17), I called the home warranty company again who once again reached out to this company and still, no one at this company has any idea why no one has contacted me to schedule a service call. Meanwhile, I've had a pipe leak in my ceiling that has now turned to a water stain. If you can't service a customer, you should call the home warranty company and the customer and inform them. These are people's homes, with a lot of money invested. When they need service for leaks and water damage, time is of the essence! 10 days without contacting a client is unacceptable! I will never use or recommend this company to anyone!

I called and left a message with the receptionist who was very nice and polite, she said the heating guy would call me back. I waited a week, nothing. Called back and she apologied and said he would for sure call me back that day. It has been two weeks! So three in total! I've hired someone else at this point, but I feel silly having wasted my time waiting. Just wanted others who have more imminent needs to be sure to shop around.
Description of Work: Radiator work was needed, the system had been drained this year and we needed help getting things going and even throughout the house. Was referred to them by the people that have worked on the boiler in the past, so I tried to go with them.

Burnomatic sent John to our house. Nice, knowledgeable, experienced guy who loves to explain the physics of how boilers work if you care to ask. John took multiple carbon monoxide and oxygen measurements at multiple distances from the boiler. He concluded that we do not need a new boiler. He recommended I reseal the collector for a modest cost at some point, but it was not urgent. Charge for his visit was $175. Advice: Call Burnomatic for a second opinion before embarking on an expensive Plumbing & Heating project, or just hire them outright.
Description of Work: Second Opinion. Our Lowry Hill home uses a boiler / radiator heating system. I had another plumbing, heating, & cooling company out to the house for a maintenance check of our boiler and radiators prior to winter. They told me that the boiler (25 years old) was emitting carbon monoxide and so they turned off the boiler as it was "unsafe". They presented repair and renovation options that came with limited warranties, and advised that I'd be best off purchasing an expensive new boiler. I called BurnoMatic for a second opinion.

After being told it would be challenging to drain our old steel expansion tank, and that we should purchase a new boiler for other reasons, we got a few bids for a new boiler. Greg came and thought there was no reason to replace our boiler, as long as we drained the expansion tank and placed a CO detector near the boiler to be cautious. We had Burnomatic drain the expansion tank and it took maybe 30-45 minutes, with no problems. The system has been operating great since then and we didn't have to spend over $6,000 for a new boiler when our current one works just fine. They were so honest and provided great service! Will definitely call them should we need any other boiler maintenance! Thank you!!

The installation and surrounding communications were great - clear communications and good work. The tankless water heater had a defect - the manufacturers problem - and the Burnomatic team took care of it quickly with no cost to me. They will be my first call for all plumbing needs - already have recommended them to friends and family.

Boiler electrical unit was making noise. Called Burnomatic because they had installed the boiler new in 2011 (I think). Burnomatic said it was just out of warranty, but that particular brand relay switch had a history of problems so they would try to get it covered (otherwise it would cost $400!). Burnomatic successfully negotiated a replacement at no cost for which I am grateful. But I was astonished to see a $230 bill from Burnomatic for the first diagnostic visit and a 15-minute installatiion visit (after receiving a $50 good faith reduction - which I also appreciate). While the total price could have been far higher had Burnomatic not gone to bat for me, I nonetheless feel the price for installation was too high. That said, based on the quality of work on the initial installation and the follow-through with this problem, I do trust Burnomatic and will probably use them in the future (but not too soon, I hope!)

I called earlier this week to schedule a quote for our boiler system. We've been having some problems and I explained the situation over the phone. Basically we are most likely looking at re-piping our entire boiler system. The tech called this morning to notify me that he was on his way. I mentioned the 'quote' and he they said they "don't do quotes". He then proceeded to tell me that for them to come out was a minimum of $115/hour service fee. This was not discussed over the phone at all when I set up the appointment. Had my expectations been managed appropriately when I set up the appointment, I would have been fine with it. I was naturally frustrated as until this point, I had not been told of ANY FEE for looking at our system to determin what will most likely be a very costly fix. The tech was then short with me and didn't try to resolve the situation. Unfortunately, we will not be using Burnomatic.
Description of Work: Nothing in the end. Wanted a quote for our boiler system which most likely will need to be re-piped.

Excellent. The system has worked like a charm since he worked on the system. He stayed and watched the system and checked all the pipes to be sure there were no leaks. Getting the system working was no easy task. Others have worked on the system and I have tried myself but it wasn't fixed until now.
Description of Work: The pipes from our boiler to the fin-tube baseboard heaters just would not work right. One segment had no heat at all. One heated until the room was hot. Two others the heat was anemic. The technician bled the system, recharged it, made sure that all four sectors was working right. He made sure that the lines were all full of water and the pressure was maintained. He emptied the overflow tank.

We had boiler troubles which resulted in no heat! I called Burnomatic and they were able to send someone out within 15 minutes(they happened to have someone finishing up a call nearby.) The repairman was at my home within 20 minutes of my initial call. The repairman was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. Came in and got right to work. The bill hasn't arrived yet so I can't comment on that, but scheduling was easy and the repairman seemed knowledgeable.

We'd called for service from another company twice, and both times they said they'd get back to us with a quote but never did. We contacted Burnomatic and received a call promptly and scheduled service. They arrived on-time, were very professional and friendly, and got the job done quickly. Now the radiator is working great. I just wish I'd called them first!

I have two major complaints. 1) Matt the main contact for scheduling is IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of. It was very difficult to get the pieces of work scheduled and then he didn't return calls when I asked for assistance in finding someone to look at the outside line. Once he finally did get back in contact with me and that person came out, it took that person 15 minutes to determine that the line from the street was indeed copper and that the problem was very likely still in the house. It then took time to get ahold of Matt and schedule their plumber to come back out and finish the work. 2) I called multiple times after the work was complete to ask when I would be receiving a bill. I knew the bill would be 1500-2000 but had never received a final number. Matt never returned any of these calls. Nor did I receive a bill until JULY 2013. By this point I had sold the house and had assumed they were just never going to bill me. I don't begrudge them payment for the work they obviously completed. But I do when the bill comes over a year after the work completed (and almost two from when it began.) I called to discuss with Matt several weeks ago and unsurprisingly did not receive a response. While their work was good, the headaches involved in dealing with their office staff are frankly not worth it.
Description of Work: I had one line of hot and cold water running across the house that was still galvanized piping (all other interior plumbing had already been replaced with copper). This was the line that ran to my exterior faucet (and also was feeding the interior pipes) and I had no water pressure at all. Couldn't get a sprinkler more than 2 feet off the ground. They came out and replaced the hot and cold water lines. The plumber accidentally knocked into a shelf and broke several pieces of pottery. He was extremely apologetic about it. He also was certain that the problem was not in the house but was the line to the house. Initial work was done in 3 visits over October, November and January of 2012. Eventually when it was confirmed that the problem was not exterior but there was still one more piece of galvanized plumbing on the interior, they came back in late April, busted up the concrete around the meter and replace one last little piece of piping and then poured new concrete in that spot. (When I had drain tile installed 10 years ago, the concrete there covered up that last little piece of pipe and made it look like the line from the street might be old.) Water pressure was fantastic once the work was finally complete.
