Brennan Heikes Professional Painting

The job was done very well, on time and on budget. These are the three things we look for in contracting work. We made the initial contact at the end of May but the work had to be delayed until the birds living in the hole in the trim matured and left the nest. We had a tentative date set for September, but Brennan sent an email about a week in advance to move it up to August. Since the birds had left and we were available to meet them on the first day, this was a nice plus. The scheduling of the initial visit and the start date for the work could have gone more smoothly, but this is a very minor concern given the quality, speed and cost of the work. We got other quotes that were up to 4 times the cost and estimates of over 1 week to paint our little house. We were not interested in completely sanding off all of the paint down to bare wood and starting again --- we just wanted to repair the pealing paint and the hole in the trim and make the house look nice again. We felt that Brennan made the most realistic quote for the work that we wanted to do and that's why we hired him. The work itself went very smoothly and quickly. He arrived at 8:30 am to get started and there were at least 3 people working on the house at all times. They were here until 7 pm on the first day and got through almost all of the sanding and some of the painting. They came back again at 8:30 am and finished up the job by 4:30 pm. Everything looks great and they cleaned up very well after the work. In addition to the quality of the work, they were able to deal with an unpleasant neighbor who complains whenever we have any work done on the exterior of our house. One particularly important point was that other painters had proposed to power wash the house first, which would have blown peeling paint chips into the garden of our neighbor. Brennan advised against the power washing. This was a good decision in hindsight as it would have been very difficult to contain the chips and water to our property. We will certainly go back to Brennan when the house needs to be repainted.

The job was finished much faster than I expected. Scraping and most of the priming were completed the first day. Additional caulking was performed after the first coat of paint was applied as this highlighted the nail holes and cracks. The guys were packing up their gear at the end of a long third day. After initial inspection I did notice that the top side and edges of many of the drip caps did not receive the trim paint and some of the windows to be re-caulked did not get done. I called Brennan and he was happy to return and complete the work himself. It did take a couple of weeks for the re-work to get done, but that could be blamed on the rain this year. As soon as the weather was decent for a couple of days, he was out to finish the job. I did like that Brennan offered a 3 year warranty where most of the other contractors I spoke with offered 2 years.

Brennan is a great guy- very personable. He and his crew did the painting while we were out of town so I didn't see them in action but we were pleased with the results and thrilled to have someone we could trust to do the work while we were gone! I would definitely use him again in the future.

This is the second time we have used this company's services and are very pleased and satisfied with their work.

I called Brennan after two years of looking for someone to paint my house. I had at least 4-5 bids over the last few years and was really impressed with his personality. Then he bid very reasonably. I was glad that we discussed the start time and then we worked for me to be in the house when he was going to take down the storms. He also worked well with my neighbors who said they might hire him as well. After the scraping was done, they began painting, first the garage that needed it badly. It looks great. Then, they painted the two story house and the storms, and the shutters. Really nice job, and the house looks like new again. I am very pleased with the ability to call him when I had questions and his availability. It was great.

Brennan's a pleasure to work with. He's professional, personable, and does a great job. He recently worked a very long day to complete our door painting so we'd be ready for a party at the house the next day. Really appreciate that level of service. And for what it's worth, he's really kind to pets and children that may be hanging around watching him paint. :)

The entire job when really well. Brennan came out to give us an estimate on a Friday, started the job with one other painter on the following Tueday and was done by Wednesday. The final cost was close to the estimated given. The painting looks perfect and the pitures and furniature was all properly put back in place. Besides the paint on the wall I would have never even known they were in the house. Every thing looks great, we were really pleased with the work. Very professional work!! We will ask Brennen back for any future painting we choose to do!

I called to get an estimate and he came out right away. They had another job postpone so they came to do the job within a couple days. All the guys were very friendly and seemed to take pride in their work. They finished the job in a day and called me in twice to make sure everything looked ok and confirm that I was happy.

From the moment I inquired about painting services to the completion of the job, it was a pleasure working with Brennan. He was very flexible on timing and had great communication throughout the entire process. I started emailing Brennan about painting options and he provided an extremely competitive quote on the job. Everything came in at what he initially quoted and the work he completed made our kitchen and bathroom look like a completely different space! He did an amazing job, we are so pleased with the work Brennan and crew did. We will refer him to anyone that has painting needs and wouldn't use anyone else for our future painting projects. Brennan and his assistant were punctual. They did a careful job of painting and neatly cleaned up when they finished. We would use them again in the future for other painting projects.

Brennan arrived promptly at 9:00 and proceeded to prepare the ceilings for spray painting. Meanwhile, his helper patched the kitchen ceiling and brush painted it because of texture and multiple recessed lights. By noon, they were cleaning up. The ceiling looked good; their were no splashes of paint on the walls, woodwork, etc. left for me to clean up. All in all, they were efficient, did quality work and were respectful in their clean-up.

His bid came in about 19% higher than the company that we used. He advertised as being available to the entire Twin Cities metropolitan area but it was clear to me that he didn?t know the area that I am in. He was a little late for the appointment because he wasn?t familiar with the area, but it wasn?t unreasonable. He was very pleasant and confident, and it was clear that he?s been doing this for a long time. I decided to go with the company that was more local and that had a lower price. I let him know that I was using another contractor and he got back with me immediately to see if he could match the bid. I had a hard time deciding. Brennan Heikes gave me one price but the company I used gave me a range which made more sense to me. I don?t think I would have been unhappy with him because he seemed to be very knowledgeable and professional. His turnaround with the bid was very quick and he was very responsive via email. I appreciated that he offered to drop his fee. I may use him for the ceilings later in the year because his estimate was more competitive for that job.

Brennan helped to make a horrible situation brighter. I had previously contracted (and pre-paid) another exterior home painter who in 2 months had performed some spot painting and caulking and then never showed up again (even with repeated phone calls and letters). I called Brennan from his Angie's List ad and even though he was in the midst of working on another project came right over and looked at the situation and let me know how much it would cost and what he could/would do if I hired him. Two weeks later with no contact from the previous painter I called Brennan. He and his team not only took care of the mistakes and poor worksmanship of the other guy they managed to get the whole project (house and garage) done in a day and a half --- the next day I was finally able to list my house for sale. The quality was superior, the professionalism excellent. If you don't hire Brennan and his team to paint your exteriors you are most likely hiring the wrong guy.

I called Brennan on a Sunday afternoon with the hopes of finding someone who could come over in the next couple of days to complete the job. He got back to me right away and came over that Monday to give a bid. I immediately found him knowledgeable and personable. He provided a reasonable estimate and stated that he could get the job done the next day. He arrived promptly on Tuesday and got to work. He and his work colleague were both courteous and kind. They did a fantastic job and I would definitely use his company again.

It took them about 4 days to scrape, sand, paint and clean up. It was a very difficult and demanding job because of the size of the house and the previous paint peeling. Brennan did exactly what he said he would do and from having watched them perform the work, I expect it to last. If there was an option to rate this provider as an A+ I would have done so! He can certainly use me as a reference!

We requested and received a bid from Brennan in September 2010 and were scheduled to have our house painted by him and his crew on Oct. 1. Due to weather delays, he emailed and informed me he was running behind schedule. I emailed him back stating that was fine and to notify me with a new date of when he would be able to paint our house. He called and had us rescheduled for Oct. 12th. Brennan and his crew showed up on that day and the next day to paint the exterior of our house. They were very nice, professional, cleaned up after each day and they did quality work. Brennan was very prompt at responding to all my emails with questions I had from the time of estimate to the time the work was done. I appreciated this very much knowing he works long days, but was still able to keep in contact with his me via email. I would use his service again since he does interior painting as well as exterior.

We were very happy with the courtesy and professionalism of this company. They missed one small spot while painting, but Brennan came out to fix the problem in a timely manner. I would use this company again.

Great! The results were much better than expected. He and his crew did a fantastic job on the sanding and scraping which was most important to me. The glazing work blended perfectly with the original glazing on the window. He performed the job on the exact dates he quoted 5 weeks earlier.

Gave us lowest of three estimates. Scheduled quickly to get work done before cold hit in fall. Showed up as scheduled, went to work immediately with 5 man crew. Completed all work in four days. Worked 9 to 5:30 each day, very unobtrusively. Kept site tidy throughout. Courteous and friendly crew. Very satisfied with the experience.

I have a 100-yo house, with original wood siding. The paint was peeling all over, and was in horrible shape. Brennan's team put a great deal of care into scraping and sanding the entire house. They went over a lot of spots with filler, to fix up some trouble spots. Then they did a very nice job with the actual painting. I can't tell you how many neighbors, and even strangers walking down the street, have complimented me on how it looks. I will stress that, above all, the price was great. When you consider the work done for the price, they did an absolutely incredible job, it was a fabulous deal. And he charged me exactly what he estimated.

Brennan and his crew did a superb job prepping and painting our large house. He was friendly, professional and punctual. He communicated conscientously through the whole process. This was a big job, and I think the price was very reasonable. The house looks great. I will certainly use Brennan Heikes Professional Painting again.
