Scott and team did a fabulous job of painting our home. Prior to painting, his team patched cracks and holes in the walls. Scott personally came out three times prior to his crew's arrival - first to estimate the job and then twice to put paint samples on the walls. In all, we used six different colors which was no problem. Scott also showed up on the day of painting to ensure the crew knew exactly what to do. The painters were very professional and cordial. We loved the colors and workmanship. The house was left as clean as when they started and they took great care in ensuring all furniture was covered appropriately. We have not found any mistakes in the paint job or spills on the floor, etc. Scott's quote was only slightly lower than the final bill due to the trim touch-up work taking a little longer than anticipated. If I had one complaint, Scott was a little slow at times in responding to emails but in the end, would always respond. For a great painter at a reasonable cost, please give Scott and his team a call. He is great to work with.

I requested 6 proposals. 2 declined and 4 submitted. Bodine Painting not only had a better price but much better descriptions and understanding of what needed to be done. The others also said we would have to move the furniture so they could paint. Scott went in great detail with his proposal on how the work would be accomplished. They would hang plastic sheeting to contain any dust from removing the ceiling and would use vacuum sanders on the skim coat. He worked with my wife and me to get the colors and finish we wanted. He painted large samples on the walls so we could be sure of the colors and finish. He and his crew arrived when they said they would, worked hard and efficiently with a professional attitude, and were reasonably neat. It took them three days to do the job. They cleaned up at the end of each day. When they were done they put the furniture back where it belonged and rehung the curtains. I will definitely use them again when we paint the remaining rooms.

Friendly. On-time. No razzle-dazzle: these guys are straight shooters. The came back and re-did the texture touch-up on the living room ceiling and a few other little missed spots- and they were happy to make sure I was satisfied. This is the first time I have ever hired someone to paint and do repair work like this- and it was great! I highly recommend these guys and will hire them in the future.

The crew was punctual, careful, friendly and very professional. They are all extremely skilled and experienced painters and they take their work very seriously. Scott Bodine came out twice to paint a number of large paint samples on several different walls so I could see it in different lights. This was extremely helpful. Still, I made a bad paint choice and had them change the color for more than a half-day's work, and the crew just took it in stride. They were also very careful to move furniture back when they were done. All in all they were just great to work with. I never felt the need to hover and make sure things were done right. I would definitely recommend them to others and will have them back to do more work for me as needed.

Scott was very accommodating of changes to our schedule due to other aspects of the remodel. He and his crew arrived on time, knew exactly what to do, and did a fantastic job of matching the existing paint and plaster effect, which other painters said they couldn't do. When they finished they cleaned up everything and left the bathroom better than they found it. I really can't recommend them highly enough.

Painted three rooms, including an upstairs that's a story and a half. Unfortunately, I had to call back owner Scott Bodine (who did not do the painting himself) after the first day with two problems, one that could be fixed, the other that could not. Unfixable: The crew painted over the growth chart we had marked on a door frame, including marks my young daughter made of her dolls, and friends who've visited the home and, of course, our daughter's from two years old to eleven. Unbelievable, really. I had no idea they would be painting the door frame, and Bodine did say that he was as surprised as I was because they usually don't touch such personal marks unless they talk to the home owner. It was heartbreaking. The next morning, the team did attempt to remove the paint, but it didn't work. (Then, to add insult to injury, they just left it, so it was this odd looking frame with two slightly different colors of paint and a few faint shadows of lines. I painted over it after I recorded the two marks that could be identified.) Fixable: One knee wall of the story and a half had an accent color. The line where that wall met the sloped ceiling, had a few dips and curves. It was not a sharp line as you would want to see. Bodine made sure it was fixed the next day and the final result was good. Bodine did come out the very night I called him. He was very apologetic, but really, there was nothing that could be said to make up for the loss of our family growth chart. I am disappointed also by the final colors. I had chosen Benjamin Moore paints. They said they'd match them and that they preferred a Hirshfield paint. There is a difference, and in two of the spaces the difference is pretty obvious. I won't hold Bodine responsible for this entirely, because I didn't insist. So, word of advice: If you choose a particular paint, insist your contractor buy the paint you selected. Don't let them "match" with a different brand. Final straw: two months after the work was complete, I received an erroneous bill in the mail. I had paid up on the last day of service and I wrote a note asking that Bodine check his files because I was paid in full. A week later, I received a note of apology for his mistake.

Very well , they thought it would take 2 days, arrived on time with a crew of 5, was done in 1 day. When I went to pay them, I realized I forgot to include the closets, We found a couple scuff marks on the wall and the painter came back , painted the closets for an agreed upon amount and then touched up the few scuff marks and were finished the next day. They were terrific and would use them again . I was thrilled to have the discount as well, which they accepted.

I had Bodine Painting come out actually to my house last summer and provide a quote, I ultimately didn't move forward at that time and so I had him come out this past Monday and he reconfirmed the quote that he provided in the last summer and he also clarified questions on what approach he uses and what the full scope of the work was that he was going to cover, but essentially my experience with him is great. He owns his own company and he did my neighbor's house last summer and it still looks stunning and beautiful. The pricing was the middle of the three quotes that I got last year and based on the range of quotes I got it was within what I would expect to pay, but I am still looking at getting other estimates now, before I finalize my decision. He is really knowledgeable and very experienced. I expect pretty good quality workmanship based on I know what he did with my neighbor's house and he has lot of experience behind their in really working with and doing painting jobs at older homes. It is up in the air as to whether I will chose him versus getting the second quote that I got with other provider earlier this week. He is punctual and very responsive.

Scott's folks arrived on time and did quality work. There was absolutely no mess left behind. It was great to be able to leave the house and come back at the end of the workday and have the work completely done, and done beautifully. I would hire Scott and his team again in a nanosecond!

The 4 man crew has been with Scott for 20 plus years and worked together efficiently. They were friendly,thorough, leaving our home neat and clean each day. The respect of the crew for Scott and for each other was evident. After interviewing 5 different painters, all from Angie's List, we couldn't be more pleased with Bodine Painting! We have already hired them to paint 3 more bedrooms.

Scott came over very soon after I called and gave me a bid the same day by email. I got several estimates and Bodine Painting was similar in cost to the other quality companies I contacted. Scott tries very hard to be helpful and solve whatever problems you are having, whether it is with painting or other things. If you have an old home, he has good ideas about how to fix whatever is wrong and usually can do it for you. He is detailed in his bids. His crew is easy to have in the house. They are really nice and respectful, keep things as clean as possible, and try to do what you want. They helped me with window and door hinges, shaving down doors that didn't fit, and cleaning up paint in areas that previous painters had left. When they cracked a window by accident, they immediately told me and paid to have it fixed. Several of my Lake Harriet neighbors recommended Bodine Painting to me and I can now recommend them as well.

Bodine Painting worked very well with my interior designer. They were helpful in color selection and putting up color samples on the walls. I had recommended to the interior designer that she consider using Bodine Painting because they had done very good work in a previous home that I owned. I have since found out that she has used Bodine Painting for several of her other clients. Scott Bodine personally painted an office in bathroom with a faux finish. I have received so many compliments on his good work. His crew is truly professional and very experienced.

The furnace room walls needed to be cleaned,scraped, and painted. Front porch needed to be cleaned, lightly sanded, and stained. Bodine performed the services as needed and described in the estimate. There were no problems. Having employed Bodine Painting in the past, I know that if I bring any concerns to them, they will be addressed without question.

Scott Bodine came right away to give us a detailed estimate. They were able to complete the work within a tight window of time we were asking for. They were experienced, neat, friendly and efficient and we wouldn't hesitate to have them back for future painting needs.

They were very knowledgeable and professional. They arrived each morning at the exact time they said they would come. They were in a tough spot with the job because they were cleaning up someone else?s mess and they did an excellent job. The woodwork looks great, is even-toned, and the clear sealer/varnish is smooth and doing its job of protecting the wood. The products that they used were environmentally friendly products that we had picked out since we are doing an environmental certification on our home. Even though they hadn?t worked specifically with these products before they read the manufacturer?s recommendations and followed them and the outcome looks great (a lot of contractors won?t use products that they haven?t used before but this didn?t faze Bodine). They were clean and didn?t leave a big mess. Overall a very pleasant experience. My only regret is that we didn?t have them do the original painting and staining (they were just cleaning up someone else?s bad work). Would highly recommend!

We called Scott and found him to be professional, approachable and down-to-earth. He was very attentive to our needs and was prompt in coming by to give us an estimate. Together with him we took a look at the space and he was very good at explaining what the skim coat process involved and the general scope of the work (time needed, etc.). Given that we had already indicated that we'd be capable of doing the eventual painting ourselves, having done quite a bit of that on our own in other locations, he was quick to point out a potential cost savings for us which involved the simple process of washing the walls ourselves to remove some of the old wallpaper glue, in advance of his coming by to do the actual skim coating work. This was something he was willing to do himself, but recognizing that we'd probably have a pretty easy time of it, he mentioned it as an area where we could save on some of his labor costs. We took him up on this and had no trouble completing the task before his arrival. A little messy, and a little scraping involved here and there, but obviously something that we could handle to save some money. Other contractors may have glossed over this possibility, and just written it in to their overall estimate. It's always tricky to maneuver around work schedules to get stuff done on one's house, but Scott was very accommodating and flexible in scheduling his visits. He himself was a bit busy with jobs going on in other locations as well, but he managed to get over to our place in a matter of days to start work. The skim coating process generally involves at least a couple of visits, but the whole job was done in the space of a few days. The last step involved sanding the walls, and Scott and his helper did a great job of sealing off the room from the rest of the house before this step. Their sanders had attached dust collectors, so there was no noticeable dust that made its way out of the immediate work area. The room was cleaned up very well too. The final result looked very good, perhaps even better than we'd expected - a very smooth and even finish on the walls, very easy to paint, and in the end looking great with the color we'd chosen. Scott had been quick to offer to come back if we found any problem areas when we went to paint, but there were no trouble spots that we came across as we looked it over. Scott charged us $300 for the job, which was, as far as we can tell, a very good price for the type of work he did. An earlier estimate we'd gotten was considerably more, even considering the time allotted to wash the walls. We would have no hesitation hiring Bodine Painting again for another job.

Scott and his crew were great. He came over within 24 hours and gave me a bid and got me on the schedule within a week. The crew was courteous and hardworking. They got the job done quickly and professionally. When the "touch up" job in the living room got more complicated, they painted wall to wall at no additional charge. Best of all, my daughters love their new purple (yep, purple) bedrooms!

Great experience all the way around. AFter prepping the area to be painted, they offered to do some spot touch ups in other areas. Without us asking! They did more and invoiced us for less than the quote. Can you remember the last time that happened?

They had a great price. The paint was peeling off, and they found water damage. It was a big job that they took on.

It is a big job. The estimates I got were all about the same, but I decided to go with them because they had a good rating on the list and also because they seemed that they would do a good job. So far my experience with them has been good.

We were more than pleased with Scott (the owner) and his crew. Not only were they meticulous with their various jobs, but they also prepped everything extremely well beforehand and cleaned up all surrounding areas afterward. In addition, we were impressed by the crew's respectful and profession interaction with us throughout the duration of the job. This company definitely stands by their work and makes sure the customer is satisfied. In fact, Scott sent a followup E-mail after we paid him to be sure everything was completed to our satisfaction. One of the best painters in the Twin Cities and we will definitely use again in the future.
