Best Plaster & Drywall

The repair went as well as expected, unfortunately the water stain bled through so I'll have to paint the ceiling a single color to get rid of it.

It went very well! Garth assessed our issues and talked through the plan. Our room had a turret with an eight sided ceiling which had begun to fall, with no indication of water leakage. Garth recommended we remove the entire ceiling rather than the turret. It was the right decision. One challenge was the turret ceiling had been saturated by former owners with tobacco smoke, and Garth found a way to clean and restore it. A second challenge was the remainder of the ceiling hadn't been painted, making it difficult to remove, The entire ceiling looks pristine now thanks to his good judgement in how to handle the challenges.

Garth gave me a detailed quote and stuck to it even when the damage was more extensive than we realized once the sheetrock was removed. Very satisfied with his skill and workmanship.

The patched holes are good, though they are more noticeable than I hoped they would be. The painting was just okay -- I had to spend a couple hours the day after the work was completed cleaning paint off my hardwood floors and repainting doors and trim where paint was dripped and splattered (and I have more trim/edge touch-up left to do). There were also wall areas where the old color showed through, so I suspect that not all areas received a full second coat. There were anchors left in the wall and repainted after I requested twice that they be removed, patched and painted. I contacted Garth about these issues after the work was completed, but he did not respond (it's been five days). I'm disappointed, because I enjoyed meeting and working with him and his price was competitive (in the middle of the three bids I received). I did not anticipate that painting by a professional would leave a mess on my floors, doors and trim.

The ceiling is beautiful and the patching on the wall was a huge improvement over the crumbling plaster that was there before.

Garth from Best Plaster and Drywall is the best. He knocked the job out in a couple hours. He's a great guy and we ended up having some good chit chat as well. We will definitely be using his services again and would gladly recommend him.

Garth cancelled on us twice, so scheduling was a bit of a hassle but he apologized and ultimately did a fantastic job. His prices were very reasonable and he responded to every call/message in a very timely manner.

The person who came to give us an estimate was not the one who actually did the work. We got a response for a quote right away and it seemed very reasonable so we went ahead and made an appointment. A different individual came and made the repair. It looks a little uneven. He also left some sheetrock and a bag of sand outside the house which we had to dispose of and didn't clean up after himself very well. I would use the company again but not before talking much more about my expectations. But the bottom line is the ceiling is repaired and that was our goal.

We were completely satisfied with Garth's work. It was a pleasure dealing with him from beginning to end. Recommend him highly!

Since this wasn't a large job, the service provider was able to fit this into his schedule within a couple of weeks. A day before he came out, he notified me when he could come, and that fit into my schedule well. Next day he was on time and did the job. After scraping out the loose plaster and old seal layer, he showed me what needed to be filed in. The repaired area looked great when it was done, and he explained that area would have to dry out properly a couple days before it would be ready to be primed and painted. He cleaned up the area well.

Really pleased with the quality of work, which included custom drywall and stucco work. They provided a high end product at a fair price. Pleasure to work with.

Garth Peel is the owner of the company and he seemed to have a lack of control in scheduling his work and those of others he needed to do a proper job. We had a heating contractor come in who had to open large swatches of walls to install baseboard hot water heating. Garth is somewhat ok on large work but lacks attention to detail as I find myself going back and fixing some of the work he left behind. He kept telling me about this helper of his who's great with detail but the guy never showed up. Garth promised to come in on a Sunday so I hurried to close up a wall I had opened to install some additional bathroom lighting. Sunday comes, and Garth does a no show. The work was dragging on due to his no-shows so I had no choice but to tell him to finish up and we would do the painting ourselves. That seemed to agitate him and that's probably why I have so much of his work to correct.

It went very well. We are pleased with the quality of work and the service that Garth provided.

Emailed him photos twice. No response. Why not respond? I emailed photos so he'd have an idea of the job ahead of time to see if it's something he would be able to do or see if it was too small of a job. It's too bad, because I know a lot of people who could have used him if our job worked out well.

It was hard work to get the correct ceiling texture but Garth did it in a timely manner and with a smile. It looks great!

We bought a place with a lot of wrecked plaster ceilings. Garth and his crew were very professional and replaced them all. They created an excellent system to get the drywall in the house, they were able to work quickly and were easy to communicate with. Our house has no straight walls and required a lot of finesse. They were able to handle these challenges in a timely fashion.

Garth and I agreed on his bid which included repair of flat ceiling in my office: scrapping the old popcorn ceiling plaster, repairing some openings, taping and spraying knock down ceiling and moving AC vents. He called me a day before that he will not move the vents. I said never mind, come along I will open the ceiling vents and move them myself while works on other part of the ceiling. He was on time but when I went out half an hour to buy few things from Lowe's he was gone without informing anybody in the house. I was upset and called him he initially stated he had forgotten his tools at another job site and then stated he had to complete this job and he would return the next day. I was furious, i had taken the day off to be present while the work was in progress.I fired him.

Garth does an excellent job. Took care of all the water damage from ice dams in the winter. His price was well below the other quotes I received. He took care of all the billing details with the insurance company. Will use him again and highly recommend him.
