Best Plaster & Drywall

Tom was punctual and friendly. Even called ahead, as I had requested, so I knew when to expect his arrival. He came in and got right to work. Was very careful not to get anything messy with any of his building materials. So far, it looks like a really nice job (not even dry yet). He did a nice clean up afterward so I didn't even have to vacuum.

Replaced sheetrock around an opening in wall in laundry room where I had new piping and shut-off valves installed for he washer. They fixed the wall beautifully and also offered to fix any other small "nics or holes" in walls that could use some touch-up. Were punctual on scheduling, showing up on time and doing everything for said price within timeline window. I would definitely have them back for any future sheetrock/painting jobs.

It was a pleasure to work with Garth and his assistant, Dan. Garth was very punctual in his scheduling an estimate date and bid and then work to follow. Both jobs required new sheet rocking, taping, painting and texturizing of the ceiling. Both Garth and Dan loved our dog and understood her desire to snoop and spend time with them. She was sometimes a little imp but they just gave her lots of love! They both have very easy going temperaments and truly seemed to enjoy one another's company which was fun to see. All in all, I would definitely recommend them to anyone and would use them again if the need should arise! I like to support local small businesses so this was a perfect fit in that department! Thanks Garth and Dan for a job well done! I should also mention that Garth was in contact with our insurance agent himself and was a great help in getting approval by the insurance company for the work that needed to be done.

We were very happy with this company! They were punctual, courtious, professional and friendly. Garth left nothing to clean up after he left, down to sweeping the steps outside and driveway! Thanks to Angie's List, we got a great contractor.

The guy is a very nice guy but I thought I paid for 3 hours of work but what he actually did was plaster the wall and I watched him leave so he didn't really do 3 hours of work. I used them probably 2 weeks ago and I didn't spend anything other than the cost of the deal. Usually you put mud on an area and let it dry for a day and then come back and sand it but that's not how the deal was setup. He smoothed the mud on and talked to me for about an hour while it dried and then sanded it for about 15 minutes and left.

He was right on time and did the repairs needed and since they were small repairs he also did another touchup needed which I appreciated.

Very pleasant to deal with. Very flexible. I changed my mind twice on what I wanted to do and they went with the flow. Showed up on time. Professional attitude. Work done well. Cleaned up after. All work was done in the 3 hours allowed by the coupon, so we owed nothing. Very pleased!!!

We purchased the $99 for 3 man-hours coupon, so due to having a lot of that work to do, it was a little hard to get ahold of them at first, but when we did, he was very accommodating and actually came out on Saturday morning to do the work. He cleaned up after himself quickly and efficiently, and also provided us with an estimate for some paint work we want done, along with some advice on how best to rid the room of cigarette smell. We would definitely recommend him.

After purchasing this deal from Angie's List, Garth and Tom contacted me right away to set up a time to do the work. They arrived when they said they would and Tom did great work on the repairs. Tom made sure that the house was clean when he left. The work Tom did was excellent and he and Garth are both very honest and great to work with.

I would highly recommend Tom Lund with Painting With Color! He works quickly, knows what he's doing, takes care of your carpet/trim, knows tricks of the trade and doesn't waste time to increase how long the job takes. Best of all - his rates are VERY affordable and fair. Contact these guys for your interior painting, including minor scatches/holes, over any one else!! He also provided a receipt upon my request, and a few tips for other rooms I would be working on myself.

He was outstanding. Punctual, polite, professional. He worked quickly on the three small areas, rotating through them to complete them in time. He did an outstanding job with all of it, we just have to sand a bit and paint. I would highly recommend him to anyone and will definitely use him in the future if a need for what he did or painting comes up. TRIPLE AAA+++

Tom came and looked at out bathroom ceiling and we discussed how long it may take to complete the job. He thought it might take longer than three hours to scrape and replace the popcorn ceiling. We had purchased the Angie's list deal for three hours for $99.00. I asked him if he would be offended if we scraped some of the ceiling to save on labor and he said that was fine. We did scrape a good part of it off and he finished it the day he arrived to perform the work. He covered the floors and doors. He worked hard and was done in just over 3 hours. He also told me not to bother buying the product needed because it would be more than he would use. So he brought everything. When he was done I wanted to pay for supplies and the fraction of the hour he worked over the allotted time and he wouldn't accept any further payment. Tom is a super nice guy that takes pride in his work.

Everything went well they arrive on time brought their references. They walked thru the areas needing work made recommendations and gave us an estimate for the work to be done. They were punctual and professional and very knowledgeable on the repair work. We didn't use them due to other projects that needed to be done immediately.

He was great was to deal and was early for the job and completed the work on our rental property in the time frame he indicated he would. I would recommend his services to others.

We are getting ready to put our house on the market to sell. The popcorn in a couple of rooms was pulling away from the ceiling and there were some cracks in another room from the house settling. We decided that getting rid of the popcorn and having flat ceilings painted white would modernize our split entry 70's home. Garth quickly responded to our request for an estimate and put us on the schedule. It was our good fortune that they had a reschedule so they got us in quicker than planned. We had work done on the upper and lower floors. They focused on the lower level first to minimize disruption and did a great job of covering all areas with plastic and taping off the walls. They completed the scraping on the lower level and sealed it. When they came back the next day - several air pockets had shown up overnight. This happened two days in a row. There was no way they could have forseen this so the job took longer than planned. Dan continued to scrape and seal until there were no more bubbles. Fortunately they didn't run into this problem on the upper level. We really really appreciated that Dan and Garth were more concerned with doing the job right as opposed to moving along to stick to their schedule. They even worked over the weekend to finish the job so that Tom the painter could get in and finish. Their communication with us was great and the ceilings look absolutely wonderful! On top of that they became close friends with our two dogs!! We highly recommend this company and would use their services again. In fact, we have a few more ceilings left and when the time comes to do them - we won't look any further than Garth, Dan and Tom! Thanks guys!

A 3'x6' section of plaster had fallen from our master bedroom ceiling. Other areas of the ceiling were cracking and were starting to come loose. We didn't have water damage, and the plaster ceiling was in otherwise good shape. Garth suggested we could patch the hole and then sheet-rock the entire ceiling to keep the rest of the loose plaster from falling in the future. A family emergency kept him from starting the first day as planned, but he made up for that by working half days on Saturday and Sunday to get the job done so I could have the bedroom back sooner rather than later.

Garth did an exceptional job on a very difficult plaster ceiling that wasn't even, was cracking, had popcorn on it. He removed all popcorn, and repaired the ceiling to be good as new. It is a bungalow built in 1923, so you can imagine how hard this may have been. But, throughout the process, Garth was kind, friendly, explained the entire process, gave correct estimates on the time it would take, and, in all , performed a miracle. I would recommend this company very highly.

live in a 1930s home in Highland Park which has plaster ceiling and walls. Verify difficult to find someone even willing to attempt a match. Had a hole put into a wall by a delivery person as well as some damage from an ice d*** (same area). Garth was prompt in returning my call and had a person available for repairs within 72 hours. This was a small job and he treated my as well as if I were spending thousands. I will most certainly use him when I am spending thousands! Highly recommend! .

Garth responded quickly to our inquiry. He provided an estimate and start date along with a projection as to how long the work would take. We have an old home and the entryway and been previously wallpapered and was in some disrepair from settling, as old houses do. There were a few large cracks, and uneven surfaces. Garth performed the work over three days (drying time between coats) and did an excellent job in a tricky area. He was excellent at communicating with us if he was running behind (never more than half an hour) and he was very nice to work with! We will definitely use Garth again for other projects.

Overall, we had a very pleasant / no hassle experience working with Garth. He is courteous and professional and did a great job for us. Garth provided a reasonable and timely bid, scheduled the work for a couple of weeks later, and was punctual in completing the actual job.

We had an uneven area in a section of the living/dining room area ceiling. Garth smoothed it, replastered it, matched the texture of the existing ceiling and painted it. The exact match of the ceiling texture and the exact match of the paint color saved us from having to re-do the entire ceiling. Garth was knowledgeable, prompt, and efficient. We are very pleased with how the ceiling looks. Garth put up plastic curtains around the area where he was working in order to keep plaster dust from escaping into the rest of the house, and he cleaned up his work area completely when he was finished. We would certainly hire Garth again, and we would recommend him without reservation.

I called for a small job estimate. Garth was out to my house within hours. I was treated as though it was a large job. His price was also very good.

Garth was great to work with. Very friendly. He was considerate of our budget and suggested several ways to approach project with varying expenditures. He also did a very good job of cleaning up and being considerate of keeping the dust out of the rest of the house by suggesting when to turn off heat etc. I just really liked his attitude, work ethic and friendliness.

Based on the Angie's list reviews, We were very interested in hiring Garth to repair/resurface some plaster at our home. We called and left messages at least 3 times and never received a call back. When we finally did reach him by phone, he was quick to set up an appointment for and estimate and we were excited to be moving forward. He didn't show up for the estimate appointment and didn't return any of our calls following that missed appointment. I understand that schedules can sometimes change at the last minute, a simple phone call would have solved the problem and kept us happy.
