i have worked with Jeff since early 1990's. I always understood Jeff had A.D.D. but after 25 year's of using Jeff it has become clear Jeff changed and he says anything in my personal opinion to get money. i do not know what happened with him but in the last few years of giving him Carte Blanche I have felt cheated . It is sad that Jeff behaves this way after all the years of business. He openly lies to me in my opinion to get money and he refuses to respond or resolve Scott Erickson

Jeff Proctor and Audio Enhancement Design are the the worst. Avoid at all costs. He gained access to our home as part of a home renovation team working for a general contractor. He had installed the home stereo system and home security system when the house was built. From the beginning I sensed something was wrong just based on his strange behavior. Finally, however, I felt sorry for him and asked him to do two things. One was to repaint the in-wall speaker grills to match the new wall color. The other was to start the home security system that was already installed in the house. On the speaker grills he somehow managed to make the metal rust, and then he spray painted over the holes making it impossible for sound to come out. He didn't seem to think this was a problem and was upset when we objected to the quality of his work. I had to hire another contractor to do this simple job. They had to strip the speaker covers and repaint. Proctor wouldn't offer a refund, which is consistent with the other F review here on Angie's List. On the home security system, he knew the system because he had installed it. Despite that, the cost went up from the original estimate by 130%. Jeff will make you pay what he wants to make no matter what he tells you to get your business. A few months later we had a break-in and found the security system wasn't working. We had paid for a year in advance. At this point we filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Why? Because the original contractor who had brought him into our home had told us that Jeff Proctor was completely unreliable and that we shouldn't deal with him directly any more. We heard many stories from the contractor, for example that Proctor had installed all the wrong stereo equipment in homes. So many clients were furious at him that the contractor said he was going to have to find a new subcontractor. (Wish we'd known this earlier.) Proctor refused to even respond to the BBB. Three letters, including a certified letter, two phone calls, several emails. Nothing. Finally, on the last day that the case was open he filed a one sentence response that had nothing to do with our concerns. (He said the connection to his office was by phone--which he claimed we failed to maintain. In fact, he had installed a direct non-phone cellular connection. At that point the BBB closed the case on the basis of "no response" from the contractor. In the end, not only did Proctor take our money and provide no service whatsoever, but in both cases I had to go out and hire other contractors to correct his work. Fortunately, on Angie's List we found ratings of honest and reliable home security contractors. Frontpoint has turned out to be excellent. First rate customer service, and unlike the equipment that Proctor installs, it's backward compatible. The equipment Proctor uses isn't backward compatible after five years, so we couldn't even find another contractor who could renovate our system with up to date equipment. What does it say when a contractor won't even respond to a legitimate inquiry from the Better Business Bureau? If you trust Angie's List ratings you should take it seriously that Jeff Proctor and Audio Enhancement Designs has never received any rating other than an F. When there are legitimate businesses that stand behind the product they sell there's no reason to waste money with contractors like Jeff Proctor. As I said, avoid at all costs! The cost will be absurd, and you will receive nothing of value.

I paid for one year of of one year of security alarm monitoring and moved out after six months and the owner indicated that I would receive a refund of approximately 50% ($100) - and then declined to refund that money. An office manager indicated their policy is not to refund any money collected. A horrible experience.
